Out of the many Children's books for the beginning readers I have read, this one is at the top of the list. Your child will especially like it if he or she is a fan of Sesame Street.

Not much of a story here other than Grover has a surprise and his friends have lots of supplies. The story shows creativity of how one can make something out of left over odds and ends.

The letters in this book are nice and large for the beginning reader so they can finger point and sound out the words if necessary. The pictures are well drawn and coincide with the story. I also like the fact that it seems to be the perfect length. It is not too long and it is not too short.

This is an excellent book for the beginning reader and I recommend it

My granddaughter loves this book. We have read it every night for over a month, and she now "reads" it to me. She can recognize the words Grover, over, not now, said, and Elmo so far and is learning to match her finger to each word.
