This is the first book I ever read as a kid. But I really don't care for the message. It's a little odd. The Alligator is trying to "drown" whomever would ride on their back. lol.

I'm not sure how I liked this before since it really sends a bad message. To me, it encourages younger children to do things that are wrong. An example of this in the book is when the alligator asked the dog if he wanted a ride in the river. The dog hopped on and the alligator ended up sinking into the water, almost drowning the dog.
What a stupid book. Who could have thought of something as horrible as this?!

Hurt people hurt people but an ant breaks the cycle (with subterfuge).

A favorite of the kids. We read this so much I can read it without even seeing the words.
