Reform of the rake... ?

Sarah Sutherland: Twenty-six years of age, wears horn-rimmed spectacles and works as a schoolteacher: "I suppose you could say I fit everyone's picture of a typical spinster. I wish, though, that the fact I've taken a job in the outback of Australia didn't automatically lead to the assumption that I'm out here because I can't find a man ...or worse,

I have not ready many books by this author, but I have enjoyed the ones that I have...Trial by Marriage was no exception. Though this may not be everyone's cup of tea, it was a very refreshing HP read for me. I found it a little slow moving in the relationship building phase, but it worked well and helped connect me to their love.

What I liked:

1) Lots of sexual chemistry and tension between H/h with the hero NOT being an arrogant, alpha asshat.
2) Hero is well liked and respected by his employees
Just okay. Australian school teacher in the outback falls in love with the new station owner. He's typically arrogant but she is fairly strong and independent without being strident about it. There was an evil other woman of course and the hero could have given her up a little sooner. Still worth the read.

OW - almost cheater
Outback setting. Cute story of a prim schoolteacher and sinfully rich rancher who marry for ? Lots of outback tropes – floods, rescues, bbqs, good-hearted housekeeper etc. . . I believed their romance.

This must have been an old one as the way it is written seemed a bit dated to me. I don't know why but I sometimes don't get what they are saying at the beginning, too subtle. I love the h, she has a kind heart but can be tough enough to call it quits when the situation calls for it (boy, I totally cheer her on her way as she left not because of an immature desire to flee and hide but because she has rationally analysed the no win situation.) The H is where I have a serious problem with. He was ...more
3 Stars

The first part of the book was boring and hard to follow. I hate not finishing a book so I finished reading and about 60% into the book it was really good, that’s why I’m giving this book 3 Stars

I'm really confused as to how the title fits in with the story because it makes it seem like another story. I have read this author before but none of the books made an impression like this one. I was excited for this book because this is the first book in HP land where the heroine wears glasses!

26-year-old Sarah Sutherland meets 35-year-old Cliff Wyatt and at their very first meeting he asks why he should not fire her. (I felt that was silly because she was the only teacher in all the land rat

I thought it was going to be much better. I'm disappointed.
