"Are you okay?" he asked. Before I could reassure him once more that I was fine, the stewardess started the safety demonstration. I directed my attention to her, happy for the diversion. Jeremy and I had spent most of the day before in small talk and sightseeing, intentionally avoiding the issues we faced. He was so relieved that I was staying with him that he made a Hercu ...more

I won the phenomenally, heart-wrenching story with captivating characters free through Goodreads First Reads Jeremy's Promise by A.R. Talley.
Jeremy's Promise begins with Annie sorrowfully going through her husband, Jeremy's, books and belongings in his office and finding that she cannot find it in her heart to part with anything. She finds Jeremy's journals and reads the struggles they went through, his feelings finding her in Las Vegas with David Andrews (who broke her heart in college)and aski

*Spoiler Alert*
I loved "David's Song" by A.R. Talley so I couldn't wait to read the sequel, "Jeremy's Promise." I was NOT disappointed! The events of chapter one were not what I had expected at all!!! (I actually said- "WHAT!" out loud when I read it.) But they were necessary. A.R. has an amazing gift for describing her character's feelings so accurately that her readers are able to feel them as well, and become emotionally involved in her books. This is what won me over in David's Song and thi

Sitting poolside at a cub scout activity, I felt a little foolish when my eyes were filling with tears when I got into chapter eight. It was unexpected, as I would have thought I would not succumb to a display of emotion on my fourth reading of Jeremy's Promise. The second in the "David's Song" trilogy, this book continues with Annie's story, as she returns to Ohio and embarks on the journey of rebuilding her crumbling marriage. For those who have read "David's Song", and think you know how thin ...more

Several of my church friends have this on their "to read" shelf, and I don't know how to describe it without giving some of it away. I will just say this: the "Women's Fiction" genre is not typically something I read, but I enjoyed this book, particularly the first half. I'm looking forward to seeing how Talley handles the final book in the series.

In David's Song, the first book in a trilogy, the reader was introduced to Annie, Jeremy, and David. After fifteen years of marriage Annie and Jeremy were having serious problems in their marriage. Annie went to Las Vegas for a week long BYU college reunion with her girlfriends. While at the hotel, Annie runs into David Andrews, her ex-college boyfriend who broke her heart. David is now a famous pianist, whose concert they will be attending while in Vegas. Seeing David after fifteen years stirs ...more

It 's a story romantic, tender, on the power of love that can forgive anything but is very realistic, with real problems, isn't the classic perfect love story.
Annie has recently lost forever Jeremy, her husband who loved her so much. Annie in her whole life has always been in the middle of two men: David and Jeremy. After David had broken her heart she married Jeremy. Her husband loves her deeply but think do not deserve her and was married as a second choice. After four children and some econom

I was left feeling very emotional after David's Song and wasn't sure what was going to happen. If you haven't read that one, be sure to read it first!

Jeremy and Annie's marriage is very fragile after the events that happened in David's Song. I really enjoyed the flow of the story and the way they figured things out and resolved their issues. Jeremy is a great guy--one who really does think of Annie and her happiness. He seems a little insecure and the promise he extracts from Annie proves exactl

I really enjoyed this book, and like David's Song, didn't set it down beyond necessity from start to finish. I was completely surprised by the plot twist at the beginning and thought Talley did an excellent job of highlighting Annie's emotions and reactions. I appreciated that the reader was able to hear Jeremy's perspective in his own words and Annie's sincere reaction to them. I thought the plot, in respect to "the promise" was intriguing, as well as watching the internal struggle Annie faced ...more

Some spoilers-
This book is even better than the first. I love the struggles of the characters. I truly enjoy reading about relationships and this book was FULL of complex and interesting ones. While I was frustrated with the book, it was usually because of the main character, Annie, and the choices she made and the things she hid from people...which is totally what people do in real life. I read this book right around the time that my dad passed away and it was really interesting to read the boo

First and foremost: Read the first book before this one. Jeremy's Promise continues the tale between Annie and Jeremy with several scenes only the most cold-hearted reader will not be moved by. The writing is good and has good flow throughout the book. The characters feel well fleshed out enough to relate with. I still have reservations about certain elements of the plot however I can confidently recommend this book if you enjoyed the first. Overall this is a decent read and one many readers wil ...more

Well-written and personable characters but not my favorite genre so just 3 stars from me. If you loved David's Song though, you will love this one too.

**Update: This book stuck with me in a negative way, so I later changed my review to 2 stars.
