300 Beers to Try Before You Die! is a personal and comprehensive portfolio of international beers compiled by Roger Protz, one of the world's leading beer writers.
I was given the 2011 printing of this book over seven years ago but someone borrowed it from me before I had a chance to read it. Finally despairing of ever getting it back I have just bought another copy. It's a bit dated now as there have been major changes in the brewing industry over the last eight years but it is still a fascinating read. I was surprised to find out that I have tried many of the beers he recommends though I do not always share his views.
I received this for Father's Day. . . Surprise. A beautiful book with lots of Beers I have never heard of. An overwhelming number of these beers are English. I feel that Mr. Protz may be a tad biased. But, Most of the ones mentioned, I have not had the chance to try yet. . . Maybe, he is right. I am certainly curious. Also, I am curious about the follow up book... 300 More Beers to try... Maybe, next Father's Day?
Super interesting intro to top beers of the world with a little bit of information on each. ... wished there was a little more to read about the types of beer or history than they offered but realize that would be an enormous book if 300 were covered in detail.
