"The future is what I have to look toward-what we all have to look toward now."

Odium II is the second book in The Dead Saga Series. Nina, the most bad-ass heroine I have ever met, is back and ready for battle!

"People will do anything to protect the ones they love."
Odium II picks up right where Odium left us. Nina, Mikey, and Em are in trouble. Not only do they have to battle the zombies but their fate is in the hands of the Forgotten. As Nina tries to maintain the physical strength she

This book opens up with the reality that Nina finds herself yet in a different type of hell, a new nightmare. She feels betrayed and yet she wants to keep going to protect the ones she cares for. Nina honestly is someone you can look out to because in her weakness she finds strength. She always ends up sacrificing herself to protect others. At the end of the last book, Nina is

High five Claire C. Riley!!! Wow and holy effing crap and OK...I will calm down now and write a proper review.
The trick will be to write as spoiler free of a review as possible so as NOT to ruin it for those who have yet to devour this delicious and gross treat...but there is just SO much that happens in this awesome continuation of Odium...I don't know quite where to begin!!

Even though the zombies in it are something quite atrocious!) Nah but seriously It was a brilliant read and fans of the series will not be disappointed. One word AWESOME!!

While this is technically the second book in a trilogy, this does not read like a middle book, folks! It has its own plot and characters and stands strongly on its own two putrefying feet. There is a ton of new information being introduced; it isn’t just about surviving anymore. Now it’s about maintaining some sort of real life, maybe even making some friends along the way. Careful making friends in the apocalypse… you never know when they’ll get eaten…

I have to say, I think this book w

Taking off several months after the end of the original book, Odium II immediately shows you that there is no rest in sight for our heroine, Nina. From the first chapters, we are reintroduced to the dark world of Nina and company and taught one very important lesson...zombies aren't the worst thing in the world...people are.

This book starts in a dark place and seemingly continues in that same path for its entirety, until you begin thinking about the emotional path of Nina. We begin to see her tu

REVIEW: ODIUM II by Claire Riley

Second in hard-hitting author Claire Riley' s ODIUM series, ODIUM II demonstrates to readers exactly how much more intense the Zombie Apocalypse can become. When running for survival, going homeless and hungry just isn't painful and dangerous enough, try existing as these characters do, hiding from the "deaders" AND from "the Forgotten," human monsters loosely gathered into enclaves. These had been purposely excluded from the walled compounds, left to fend for the

I'm already deeply invested with this saga, from the moment we met our heroine in Odium. I knew that with her snarky attitude, will to survive, and Doc Martens that Nina would be a force to be reckoned with. Odium II gives you that and more, much much more.

Odium II carries on from where we left Nina, Mikey and Emily after they are captured by the Forgotten. Again this book captivated me, I love Claire's narrative when it comes to Nina. I find it refreshing that she isn't the perfect heroine, she doesn't try to be nice and she isn't afraid to let her bitch show after all that's just who she is.

Nina, Mikey and Emily make their escape from the Forgotten, we meet a host of new characters at the encampment they find themselves at. This is what I love

High Five, Claire! You’ve produced another example of why you’re one of my favorite authors and a rising star to watch. Speaking of stars- can you say 5 stars? If I could rate this book higher, you bet your sweet buttocks I would.

Readers fell in love with Nina’s snark and Doc Martens in ODIUM I. And it was gut-wrenching when the first book ended, leaving us with absolutely no idea what would happen to

Now Nina... she is really evolving. Self centered crazy bitch turned.... well, not as self centered, but certainly still very much a live wire crazy bitch. I imagine her "resting bitch face" could scare the heck out of anyone. What can I say, I dig her. She can take care of herself, and anyone else who comes along. Sure, she's not a superhero with a weapon, but she is learning. In fact, she is learning a lot in O2. Like how to keep her mouth shut at times when I really don't want her to! I swear ...more

Odium II begins with a heart attack in the making! I was immediately consumed by the intensity of the opening scene and became highly agitated every time I had to put the book down before devouring the last word. This seems to be a pattern with Claire's books, and you won't hear me complaining about it. The Dead Saga series is at the very top of my "favorite reads" list, not only in the horror genre, but overall. I loved both Odium and Odium Origins, and Odium II is even stronger. According to Bob Marley, whom Nina quotes, "You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have." And, boy, does that sentiment hold true, right from the beginning, where we find Nina being tortured uncontrollably by The Forgotten.

Though there are new characters to get to know, the deaders don't take a back seat at all. They are still a constant threat to everyone - including our beloved characters from Odium.

Woven throughout Nina's, Emily's, and Mikey's story is a c

Riley has done it again! I always feel like I’m in a damn video game with how her deaders come out of nowhere and I’m faced with my own demise if I don’t pull out my samurai sword and start slashing some heads! The adrenaline courses through me, and I feel like I’m unstoppable as I savagely rip through each zombie to save the lives of everyone I love.
Odium II was non-stop action, and it had my heart pounding the whole time. I didn’t expect any of the plot twists, and the last 25% my mouth hung o

Love this series!

This series is great! I ready enjoyed the ups and downs in the second book. Nina and Mikey's relationship is tumultuous to say the least. There's a lot going on in this one. Cannot wait to see how it ends!

I enjoyed this but maybe not as much as the first in the series. This one was quite a bit darker with more descriptive violence which includes rape and torture. Note: None of the crimes were committed by a potential love interest.

"The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you.
You just got to find the ones worth suffering for."

Odium II picks up pretty much where the first book left off. The Forgotten are still a-holes, Mickey is missing and things are anything but pleasant for Nina and Emily.

The first few chapters in this book are some of the most brutal that I've read in not only quite awhile but possibly in years. Nina is one strong woman to suffer that much abuse and still come out relatively intact and most importantl

Oh you got me again Ms. Riley. I was definitely not disappointed with this novel in the least. I was trying to slow down and savor this book, just read a little slower than my normal light speed pace, but no, I could not put it down. I had to force myself to let it last as long as I did. You have again delivered with a rockstar of a book.
As always, I do not like reading spoilers, so I do not put spoilers in the reviews. I will let you know this, if you have any problem with gore, graphic descri

This book picks up right where the last book left off, kind of sort of. Nina, Mikey, and Em, plus Em’s new boyfriend Alek, are running for their lives again, from The Forgotten and the Deader’s. You learn about some of the stuff that The Fogotten did to Nina and how Mikey had to endure through everything. It’s a small flash back, but important. Mikey’s plan is to get them to a military base, surely something or someone still has to be there. On the way they come across a eerie town that i

I've never loved zombies. Don't get me wrong, nobody loves zombies, but there sure have been a lot of zombies around recently.

Which is why it's BLOODY AWESOMELY REFRESHING that Claire C Riley treats them the way she does. They're dark; they're scary; they're violent. They kill people. Just like zombies are meant to. Riley's zombies are a force of nature, and when they set on something, they are truly unstoppable.

This is the world that Nina lives in, but zombies are the leas

Odium 2 - we continue on Nina's incredible journey & am reintroduced into the dark & complicated world that Nina is surviving in & damn does she want to live! I've always loved Nina's character & now am obsessed with her awesomeness. I like the feminine side to nina coming out - "touch feely kinda girl" yet still the badass warrior we know & love. Odium 2 introduces another brilliant character with plenty of hot girl power & new companion to Nina - the gorgeous red head Nova.

I was giving a copy of Odium II by the author in exchange for my honest review. It in no way influences my opinion of the book. I was going to love it, no matter how I got my hands on it.

Odium II by Claire C Riley is the long awaited 2nd book in her The Dead Saga series, and it did not disappoint. The series so far has been phenomenal, and Odium II was everything I expected and more. If the first in The Dead Saga Series, Odium didn't have you by the throat, Odium II makes sure that you have no where to run. When you dive into odium II right away you're heart is breaking for Nina as you watch her being tortured mentally and physically. And where is Mikey, her knight in shining armor? I'll let you figure that one out!

There are many reasons why I believe that Odium II is better than the first, but one of the main reasons is, you are literally watching Clarie C Riley master her

O.M.G!!! I thought the first book was good. Odium II is even better! The story picks up right where part I left off and I must say it was fantastic! This one had a few slower moments, but you need that in these types of books, to break up the tension. And boy, is there a lot of that!

I saw where a reader only gave 1 star for being unrealistic. I don't see that at all. Yes, Nina has had some VERY bad things happen to her, but not everyone becomes a victim after things like that either. Not saying

Nina's back...and she's still feisty and hard ass, despite weeks of torture at the hands of the Forgotten. Once she, Mikey & Emily escape, with the help of newcomer Alek, their journey continues, and I loved reading about their travels as they run further from their captors. Once in the relative safety of a new group within the army barracks the story still had me turning pages. Plenty of gore, deaders and pouting..great stuff. Slightly odd deviation to 2 new characters but this is explained lat ...more
