The year 2102--the world as it was no longer exists. Ravaged by nuclear war and polluted almost to the point of no return, Earth was dying. When the faeries came and brought their healing magic, humanity was grateful at first. Centuries of damage repaired in just five years, and during the course of that rehabilitation, they invaded. Quietly overthrown, the human race is n ...more

Oh... my... gosh!! I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into here, is it a love story, an action story, a survival story? I tell ya, it's all in one and so much more. It's a dystopian with a touch of magic, it's a romance with heart break and betrayal, and it's a rebellion against the Fae who have enslaved most of humanity. It. Is. Awesome.

The writing is what captured me the most. Between the two authors, the chemistry and the excitement of Uprising particularly leaps off the pages. Half the

I received a free copy of the book from the authors for my honest opinion.

Fi lives in a world that was devastated by nuclear war but the Fae came along and fixed it for them. They made it beautiful and livable again. The Earth was dying and the Fae brought it back to life. But there is one thing the humans didn't know when they Fae fixed the earth that they were going to have to pay with their life or their freedom. Humans were rounded up like cattle and taken to the home of the Fae. The Fae use

The book is a dystopian novel, set in the future after a nuclear war has devastated the earth, the planet is dying and the fairies step forward to save it. What humans don’t realize is that they plan to take over and soon humans are little more than slaves and outlaws. Some humans have banded together, living as renegades to try and figure out how to fix the fae issue. I am completely capable of holding my own in a fight. For the umpteen millionth time, I wonder when, or maybe I should say if Fi will remember I am more than just one more responsibility hanging around her neck. This book is set about 90 years in the future, after World War III destroyed much of the planet and the fae decided to take over before humanity could do any more damage. Not an uncalled for step in my opinion, but the taken measures are devastating - leading to the complete enslavement of humanity.
But there is a group of humans forming a resistance in (what is left of) New York City, lead by 20 year old Fianna who took over after her parents never returned from a quest to find the key to the s

As Goodreads asks me what I thought about Uprising...

FIRST I just want to let these two ladies know that I want to not maim, well okay maybe a little, for leaving the ending there. Seriously, what were you thinking? What have I ever done to you? GEEZ.

SECOND, let me tell you readers about it.

Wait, hold on, I need my pasta roni to carb out while I gather my thoughts.

For those of you who are tired of those books where he, as I use a good friends words "tweaked her business" this one here is great.

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this book. It was filled with adventure and even a bit of romance. I loved the unique combination of Fae fantasy and Dystopian New Adult, with an exciting line up of characters, who were richly developed and well written.

The story was well paced and quite suspenseful. I couldn't wait to burn through the pages to see where it would go, and what other surprises the authors had for me, because this book was filled with twists and turns that kept me enthralled.

The story takes in 2102 after nuclear war and pollution have destroyed Earth as we know it. The fae come to heal the world, but their true intentions were to enslave the human race!

Fianna and the rest of the Dolan family are part of the rebel group trying to overthrow the fairies government. Her parents head out on an information gathering trip, and leave Fi in control of the compound, but they never return. She's then pushed into permanent leadership that is constantly trying and stressful sinc

LOVED this book!! It has everything a reader is looking forward to in a great read. Allana and Melissa are both incredible authors and masters of their skill. You don't even realize that two authors put this little masterpiece together! Their writing style is perfect and they are very good in keeping a good pace in the book. Not once did I feel rushed or felt like the story was dragging on too long.

The characters are a fantastic blend of individuals that you can't help but fall in love with. I p

This story is AMAZING. Seriously. I didn't even have to 'get in to' the story - I was captivated from the Prologue. I am usually a little skeptical of books written by more than one author, just because I'm always afraid there will be continuity issues, or that I'll be able to tell more than one person wrote it. I think the authors were smart in having multiple points of view, because there's a legitimate reason the voices are different. Flint is by far my favorite character - he's snarky, pissy ...more

I have to say this was a really different book for me to read… but that’s a good thing. I love different. There’s a liveliness to this story that I found quite refreshing. I loved Fi, she was very feisty, protective, do-it-yourself (I can so relate) kind of person. I loved the chemistry and relationship between her and Flint – loved when he ribs her about her skills. There is always this feeling of threat. Fi and her brother are trying to find out what really happened to their parents – were the ...more

Flint will become your favorite silly/swoony book boyfriend & the book will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more. This book was FANTASTICALLY different from other books I've read and I loved every second of it. It had just the right amount of everything; suspense, action, romance, hilarity...I cannot wait to find out what happens next and may just harass the authors until they tell me LOL!
PS... Flint is CLAIMED :) <3

Uprising (The Dolan Prophecies Series #1)

I received a free copy, through LoP on Goodreads, in exchange for a review.

Earth was dying, there was no denying that. Between countless nuclear wars and the fight against pollution lost, everything was bleak in 2102 - until the faeries came out, to try and heal the earth, with their magic. Success happened within time, but there was one downfall to this overall plan - humans became a conquered people, not overnight, but over this time, that they didn't e

These authors really astonished me on their seasoned writing style. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the book. This book was a diamond in the rough let me tell you! By far a great dystopian novel regarding the enslavement of humanity by the fae. These authors were able to be beautifully descriptive without being overly detailed. Each character was believable and you were able to relate to each one.

I was a bit surprised by Uprising. I wasn't exactly sure about the book at first but, I am glad I gave it a chance. As the story is told in multiple narration and at times could be a little confusing. That however, is the only reason I gave it four stars. Uprising is a wonderful story otherwise. I enjoyed getting to know all of the characters I especially loved the fairies(fae) and though they are the ones in charge and humans are made slaves there were quite a bit of the fae who did not agree w ...more

I read Resistance in preparation for the Band Of Dystopian Authors and Fans Facebook release party. I am pleased to say that I loved it! I haven’t read a book with Faeries heavily involved in probably ever, so it was a nice change. Dystopian + Faeries= awesome! The fairies clean up the earth, and in return they enslave the human race, but there’s a group of humans ready to fight for their world and take it back.

What an amazing read!!! I absolutely loved this story! I wasn't sure how well I was going to like the switching the point of view throughout the story, but the authors made it work. I was got in completely emerge myself into this future where the Fae were in charge. The characters were relatable. The main character Fi, wasn't your typical heroine. You are able to feel what she was feeling. You understood her need to be in charge at all times, and her unfailing love towards those who matter most. ...more

The storyline was engrossing and kept me up half the night reading because i couldnt stop flipping to see what was going to happen next. The world of fae isnt usually in my reading wheelhouse but i enjoyed this so much i might add more books on fae.

Part fantasy, part dystopian, part romance, with a strong circle of main characters and a ton of awesomeness!

I absolutely loved the different points of view within the time line sharing with the reader what multiple characters are experiencing (love, heartache, betrayal, frustration, and joy to make a few) during the story.

I love Fi, Eir, Flint and Lu and cannot wait to follow their journeys!

“Flint surprises me by laughing out loud, covering his mouth for a moment as though trying to hide it. “Oh my God—Relax. I’m still coherent, right?”

“Define coherent and I'll let you be,” I mumble at him, annoyed.

Flint smirks. “You’re cute when you fuss over me.” I have to wonder if this is friend appropriate behavior.

"I am not cute.” I say; feeling heat spread over my cheeks and looking away from him. “And I’m merely concerned for your safety." I trail off when I hear the noise of someone moving around above our heads.

Flint chuckles and says, “I think you’re cute.”
