Was meeting again an unfortunate twist of fate? Or was it just serendipity?

Julia McKinnon was convinced she’d found the one – the man of her dreams, the most seductive, experienced lover she’d ever known – and the night they’d spent together in New York was the stuff erotic fantasies were spun from. But with the dawn of a new day came only heartache and betrayal, and her d

After reading the second book in this series (Splendor) and loving it so, of course I then had to go back and read the first book. Good news is that they are both standalones, so reading them out of order was no big deal at all. Even better news is that book one (Serendipity) is every bit as good as Splendor, and I’m so glad I discovered this series.

Some people will automatically dismiss Serendipity because there is – gasp! – some cheating involved, since the hero (Nathan) is engaged to someone

Wow. I was beginning to give up hope that I'd ever find a book like this one. I've read a lot of just so-so stuff lately and found myself really disappointed in several books, but definitely not this one.

I found out about this little-known book kind of by accident on a blog I follow from time to time. I liked a lot of the things the author mentioned in her interview on the blog and thought I might as well try my luck. It was one of the best decisions I've made in recent months because this book

I discovered this series by accident, and I have to tell you that I feel very lucky for doing so.
This is my first book from Janet and I was surprised by her writing style: it was honest, simple, amazingly hot and funny.
I have to admit that I was attracted to the book because of its title and felt the need to meet this heroes upfront. Julia and Nathan are total strangers, but end up h

Julia Mckinson spent the best night of her life in bed with Nathan, the man of her dreams only to be awakened by the rude reality of learning that her dream guy was already engaged to his long-term girlfriend in the light of the morning.

I’m not a huge fan of cheater romances nor am I an avid reader of ‘forbidden romance’ reads either. Both aren’t usually my cup of tea.

Got this book in a raffle, didn't read for awhile because I'd never heard of the author but this is one of the best books I've read in a long time. Really really good writing, very emotional and real, dialog that doesn't sound stupid. Will definitely read more by this writer. ...more

SERENDIPITY...the randomness of fate

If you believe in cosmic energy, deja vu, serendipity, this is the book for you. This is many things, doubts, lies and betrayal, lust, ardor and obsession, but also a true love story.

This is about two people, Julia and Nathan, two complete strangers, one lives in New York the other in San Francisco. While walking from opposite directions amidst the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, locked eyes and both were struck with unfathomable sense of deep connection, attra

SERENDIPTY by Janet Nissenson was wonderful to read. A very thought out (so descriptive that it almost felt visual) journey to love taken by her two leads, Nathan and Julia. JN gives her readers the full picture, the ups and downs, the thoughts, the struggles, the guilt, the love, and definitely the lust. The sexual times between Nathan and Julia were intensely hot, very descriptive and erotic. Nathan can talk dirty with the best of them and ooh la la was it panty-dropping sexy!

Damn this book was hot! It totally deserves the 5 stars I’m giving it! I had such a hard time putting this book down, from every steamy sex scene to every emotionally charged gut wrenching page I was captivated and ended up finishing it in a day. It’s boy meets girl with a painful twist. There were so many times I wanted to break down and cry with Julia, reach through the pages and smack Nathan upside the head, and hang out with Travis and Anton. I loved that this book made me FEEL what the char ...more

A few chance meetings between Nathan Atwood and Julia McKinnon, in Manhattan, brought on a night they would NEVER forget but when morning came, reality rushed in. Too much alcohol and the most beautiful woman on earth makes Nathan forget he has a fiance back home in San Francisco. A few months later, one last chance meeting, and without her knowledge, Julia starts working at a company that Nate is a partner at. When you've made promises to one but you want another, which path do y

It’s simply AMAZING!!

I loved every second of it. I cherished it and even re-read many scenes as I read the book. I admit I went back and forth a lot of times, because I am utterly in love with this book!

So, I can’t even imagine how many times I will re-read this one. I finished it yesterday and my hands already tremble with need and my mind is already traveling to it!

I have to say that I loved the synopsis as soon as I read it an

Absolutely loved Serendipity. Nathan is off-the-charts sexy and downright lovable. His fixation with Julia's boobs is hilarious, such a boy! I loved the interaction with all the family and friends, was wonderful.

Janet Nissenson is a godess, I don't think I have ever read sexier, steamier scenes. And that's just the foreplay!

Nathan should have broken up with Cameron when he knew he had feelings for Julia, but it was clear that he struggled within himself to do the right thing and didn't want to h

Summers in San Francisco where Nathan flew in from yesterday afternoon, were much cooler and outdoor workouts weren't nearly as taxing. He is in New York on a business trip, on his way back to the hotel he sees a beautiful woman on the street, he wants to go after her but he decided that would be a bad idea. Julia misses California and her family. She used to love working at Manhattan Interiors but that was until Gerard sold his share of the business to Vanessa because his lover left him for a ...more

This is the first I have read from Janet Nissenson and have to say it had it all that I look for in a top 10 book. It had passion, friendship, betrayal and most of all true love. I could tell right from the first chapter the first meet between them that Nate will never forget about his Julia. This is the first Book in a series that is making my mind blow with excitement. Julia might seem like a vixen, sexy and all but this one woman will not let anybody push h

this is a fantastic hot read, the chemistry between the main characters is flammable. this story has a strong story line with great characters, full of romance and erotic scenes. the secondary characters also play important roles throughout the book. this book is very well written and the author has a talent of making all the scenes believable. this book is a stand alone which means no cliff hanger endings.

I really love this author. This series of stand alone novels are some of the best I have read in a long time. The only reason I haven't 5 starred these fabulous connected stories is that there is too much sex as filler scenes. The books are very hot reads but the sex and the sex talk is very repetitive ...more

Woo Hoo, what an awesome book. Let me start by saying how wonderful it is to read a full blown novel with my HEA all in one book. A rare find these days.

Julia and Nathan are our H/h and they have this moment in Manhattan,NY, with the eye contact-chemistry from Hell, and on two occasions neither will act on it…The third time they meet in passing on the street, they both take the time to introduce themselves to each other, (First Name Only) and spend a hot night hooked up in the hotel together. Serendipity is a must read romance with a completely "real" feel to it. The storyline was slow and it gave me the opportunity to get to know the 2 main characters, to love them in the process. It felt like a movie without any deleted scenes. It felt like I had the entire story in front of me, without missing anything.

Janet Nissenson is an amazing writer. Serendipity is simply one of my TOP favorite books of all time!

It’s simply AMAZING and highly RECOMMENDED!!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When I first read the synopsis of this story, I was immediately intrigued. Julia McKinnon and Nathan Atwood continue to run in to each other throughout the city. So believe it or not, I picked this book because it's supposed to be angsty and yes, while there is a certain amount of angst, it's definitely not over the top. Good for you, bad for me. :(

Nathan and Julia keep running into each other in New York where Nathan is there on a business trip. They can't stop thinking about each other and finally on Nathan's last night, he makes all the right moves. Unfortunately, the next morning, he makes all the wrong ones.

They both go on living their lives

“I trust you’re going to treat my girl like an absolute queen from here on end.”
Nathan’s grin stretched from ear to ear. “Like a fairytale princess. When I first met her I told her she was as beautiful as a princess in a storybook.”

“Oh, brother. And she actually fell for a dorky line like that?”“Hook, line and sinker.” A smile played about Nathan’s lips. “And I fell for her like a ton of bricks.”
“Nathan squatted down beside her, grasping her chin in his hand and forcing her to look at him. He looked satisfied and almost smug, the side of his mouth curling up into a wicked half-smile.
“Your would-be lover might crave everything I just had,” he told her quietly. “but he’s going to know that I was there first. He’s going to smell my scent all over your body, see where I left my mark on your skin, and hear my name on your lips. And if he still dares to fuck you, he’ll feel my cum deep inside you.”
She moaned softly at his words, closing her eyes, until he pressed a soft kiss to her lips. “God, don’t let him touch you, Julia,” he pleaded. “I know I don’t have the right to ask but I’m asking anyway”
