Outdated but well written and structured. Was interesting to get a lens into computer science in the 80s. And see how much or how little has changed.

Sadly this book is outdated and hasn't received a new edition in quite some time. As a consequence some of the topics are no longer relevant and in a few cases no longer accurate. This is a real shame since the content of the book is at times very, very good.

Ironically for the beginner to computer science I'd avoid it. As a historical book however for a more intermediate or advanced student of computer science (who can tell which points and topics to skim) it has a fair bit of value.
