An unscholarly transcription of Anne Clifford's various personal papers

Anne Clifford (1590-1676) was one of those very well-connected aristocratic and courtly ladies whose life spanned a large part of the seventeenth century. These 'diaries' are actually a collation of various manuscripts: reminiscences, memoirs, household papers, wills, legal papers and something that we might recognise as a personal diary.

Liked the prologue, got bogged down with the dreariness of the diaries, perhaps needed to read on but if a book doesn't engage me to the extent that I'm bored reading it then I'm afraid, these days I don't go on with it. I think perhaps a history of Lady Anne Clifford may have been a better bet for me rather than her diaries.
