Blood Moons: Decoding the Imminent Heavenly Signs

Rate this book
"The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come." Joel 2:31

From the beginning, in Genesis, God declared He specifically created the sun and the moon to be used for signs. These heavenly bodies would be used as signals of coming dramatic historical events when the Creator of the universe would intersect with human history. But how do we unlock the code to interpret the signals?

The key is found in the riveting new book, Blood Moons by Pastor Mark Biltz. In 2007 Pastor Biltz first discovered the correlation between when blood moons fell on feast days and key historical world events. He found the divine link between prophecy, heavenly signs, historical events, and when they intersect.

Throughout history God, the Master Timekeeper, has used the heavenly bodies to communicate to us when significant events will happen.

If you want to understand the timing of the Lord, you have to understand the seasons of the Lord, the feasts of the Lord, and the calendar of the Lord.

What are the feasts days?

What is the difference between the biblical calendar and the one we use today?

Why should you be concerned about eclipses in the sky?

In Blood Moons Pastor Biltz answers these questions and more. He explains the importance of these biblical celebrations and milestones and shows how you too can be aware of the signs of things to come.

I found this book to be fascinating. Biltz offers insight into how beautiful the Hebrew language is in both the pictorial and numerical values of Hebrew letters forming the words. He goes on to describe that NASA has defined that a consecutive series of 4, totally full, lunar eclipses, with no partial eclipse in between, is called a tetrad. There have been over 600 tetrads in the last 4000 years but less than 10 that have fallen directly on Jewish Holy Days on the Jewish calendar. Each time it has happened, there was a major event that happened to the people of Israel, at the same time. The next occurring tetrad is in 2014 / 2015. Very interesting. A timely book.

This author is credited with the discovery that blood moon tetrads occurred within one year of both Israel being established as a nation (in 1948) and Israel retaking Jerusalem (in 1967). But, more importantly, a blood mood tetrad is occurring during 2014-2015, culminating with a "super blood moon", visible from Jerusalem, on the day of the Feast of the Tabernacles (in October, 2015). This sort of thing is extremely rare and will not happen again in the 21st century. The author provides compelling evidence of the ongoing importance of ancient Israelite feast days and the (somewhat) surprising connection that feast days have with events involving Jesus Christ and the fulfillment of biblical prophecy. Perhaps most interesting, the author presents a compelling scripture-based argument that Christ is most likely to return to Earth on the day of the Feast of Tabernacles (although the year that this will occur remains unknown). I found much of what this author presented to be highly insightful and meaningful. This book made me want to learn more about the Hebrew language and the connection that feast days have to prophecy. I don't agree with everything that the author presented, but most of it was amazing. Anyone interested in Biblical prophecy will find this book highly compelling. This book represents a highly valuable contribution to the biblical prophecy literature.

This book has given me an entirely new perspective on the times in which we live, the events that have taken place in history and what we have to look forward to....and when. Not a date setting book but certainly an awareness of the "season". For those who are not interested in someone's opinion but "evidence" seekers like myself, it is scriptural, accurate and scientifically confirmed based on facts, events and dates reported on NASA's website. I had just never connected the dots as to how these events coincide with biblical prophecy. It is an amazing launching point to further research into how to read the signs in the heavens. Doesn't change what I already know to be true, but adds to my knowledge. I just didn't know what I didn't know. Hense:

Daniel 12:3-5

3 Those who are wise shall shine
Like the brightness of the firmament,
And those who turn many to righteousness
Like the stars forever and ever.

4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

Biltz is the person who discovered the significance of the blood moon phenomenon in 2008. While I have read a couple of other books on the subject, I wanted to see what he had to say. Most of his book is not about the blood moons. He tells his own story and then spends much of the book on the significance of the Jewish feasts and the Jewish calendar. He believes Christians are blinded to the importance of celebrating the Jewish feasts and paying attention to the Jewish calendar. Biltz does not promise something significant will happen during the tetrad of 2014 - 2015. I appreciate that.

The author is very enthusiastic and uses lots of exclamation points! I found the book interesting with more depth than the other book I read on this subject. It gave a me a lot to think about and a few things to go look up on my own to see if I agree with his findings. I like books that make me think, so I enjoyed this one.

This book did not disappoint. I was aware of the blood moons scenario not long after Mark Biltz discovered it. I watched several of his interviews after the news broke. After each interview, I walked away with more information. Finally, Mark put the discovery in writing. I love to share this material with other and constantly recommend his material to others. He's genuine.

It was not a good read. I was curious what his theory was with the blood moons and how to interpret them spiritually for the future. I honestly couldn't finish the book because by the second to last chapter, he still had not reached a point.

Interesting research on Jewish holidays. Writer tends to focus too much on the "mysterious" instead of the obvious. Maybe not everything is hidden and shrouded.

The Definitive Book on the Blood Moons Phenomenon
On the fourth day of creation, God created the sun, moon, and the stars. Not only were these light-giving bodies to be a day-by-day calendar and weather forecaster for humankind, but they were also to be prophetic indicators. They were given to man as “signs” in God's prophetic calendar. In his book, Blood Moons, Pastor Mark Biltz shows how solar and lunar eclipses correlate with Bible Prophecy. The author is not a date-setter, but instead reveals how throughout history blood moons have been visible whenever God was up to something big. For example, blood moons were visible in 1948 when Israel became a nation and again in 1967 when the Jews retook Jerusalem. Through the Bible we are told repeatedly, beginning in the early books, and running through into the New Testament, that there is coming a day when the greatest event the world will ever know, the return of Jesus Christ to earth, will be heralded by the darkening of the sun and the moon turning to blood. The author does a comprehensive Bible study on the heavenly signs that point to the Lord’s soon return. Blood Moons is the definitive book on the heavenly signs phenomenon and is a must read for anyone interested in Bible Prophecy.

This book is a great look into Hebrew thought and meanings. It talks about letters and numbers and what they mean. He also comments about when Jesus was born and the meaning of the Shofar blowing and the second coming of Christ. I thought it very interesting but not too erudite. It is a very Good Read, indeed!

The author has raised awareness of the Biblical Calendar as it ties into world events and God’s time-table which leaves me wanting to know more and wondering how many puzzle pieces are missing that will only make sense as I learn more about my Christian roots.
I won’t rate the book with stars because I believe it would be premature. I could give him a 5 for creating a thirst to know more.

Really interesting book! If you’re interested in learning more about the significance of the Jewish feasts to Christianity, this is a great resource. The significance of the blood moon tetrads is a small portion of the book but his research is deep and interesting.

Very interesting and thought provoking. Now I need to learn Hebrew, as the author made it sound as though I would understand even more about prophecy if I were able to read the language.

A rather fascinating interpretation of the biblical prophecies, Biltz believes they correlate with and are to be understood in conjunction with the Jewish calendar. A "blood moon" is a total lunar eclipse where the moon appears blood red. The term "tetrad" denotes 4 consecutive blood moons in a row, which is a rare occurrence but occurred twice in the 20th century. When they fall on the major Jewish feast days, they have historically been associated with momentous changes for the Jewish people. We are currently at the time of a tetrad - 2 in 2014 and 2 in 2015. So we will see what happens. Given the state of affairs in today's Middle East, that could be anything. Definitely a time to pay attention to what's going on over there. Note - Biltz is NOT predicting anything in particular; he is only saying that the signs of the times are getting interesting and suggestive.

I rate this book only 3 stars since I disagree with a few other things he says. For instance he pans the Council of Nicaea of 325 A.D. for delinking the date of Easter's observance from the Jewish Passover celebration. I would argue that the Church was quite within its rights to make that decision, since by 325 A.D. it was overwhelmingly gentile in membership and therefore observing the Jewish calendar strictly was no more to be required of gentile converts than circumcision or keeping kosher. Also, he seems to blame the church for the origin of antisemitism - not so, it's a lot older than the church - check out the book of Esther in the Old Testament. Also the books of Maccabees in the Apocrypha. In the New Testament we read in Acts (among other things) of the stoning of Stephen and the persecution by the Jewish authorities that caused many Christians to flee Jerusalem. St. Paul was driven out of synagogues that he preached in. While the church certainly is guilty of propagating antisemitism, the historical origins need to be understood, remembering that so much of history is tragic. Earlier centuries were not tolerant and inclusive of religious minorities, as indeed some parts of the world today still are not.

If you look at the Wikipedia page for "predicted apocalypse", John Hagee is on there. Granted, it shows he did not predict the apocalypse, but "the second coming of Jesus Christ". He didn't do that either. He was very clear that all he wanted to do was point out some facts. Facts like Old Testament and New Testament prophecy stating when the end of "an age" and the coming of the messiah would happen. However, these things are pretty damning.

At 192 pages, the book is pretty short. Mark starts by talking about his personal life and how he got to where he is now. He then talks about a discovery he made. And then he talks briefly about the Jewish "feast days" or holidays and their symbolic significance. Oh, and he repeatedly states there is no way for him to know when the end is coming or when Jesus is coming back. He just points out some findings and some scripture.

I gave this 5 stars. That is a high rating. And I am biased. I'm a Christian. The reason I gave it such a high rating is that if I was not a Christian and I read this book, I saw what was going on with ISIS, I saw how a dispersed people were brought back to there homeland (never happened before in history), and most importantly they are surrounded by people that hate them and are trying to kill them and yet they are safe. That would make me think that the God of Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham is the ONE TRUE GOD. It is very compelling. And the premise of the blood moons and their significance was first written about by Mark. Search Amazon for blood moon and you are going to find tons of books. But Mark was the one that made the discovery. So 5 stars for him.

Mark Biltz must think we are all Greek scholars. In order to coordinate the intricacies of the scientific alignment of the moon, earth, and sun, as foretold in Scripture and in the research of the author, we all would do well to have a background in the original language of biblical prophecy. The understanding of the Greek enhances the understanding of the Bible.

It is not too late to learn, as the author hints that such signs given in the sky, authorized by God, signify that something dramatic and world shaking is about to happen. Tied in with the alignment of heavenly bodies and and the Jewish holidays of Passover, the Feast of Tabernacles, Rosh Hosannah, Pentecost, and others, it becomes chilling to suspect that world significant events will happen in the years 2014-15. Get ready.

Through extensive reviews of past history when heavenly signs have proven reliable, Biltz does not say for certain that end times events will happen. He merely asserts that NASA and others have researched the blood moons effect on theatrical historical meaning.

This is a must read. For everyone, believers and non.

God no longer talks to us. We need to pay attention to the skies.

Unbelievable! This book is absolutely astounding, and every Christian should read it. Right now I would recommend a book on the Feasts of the Lord, The Mystery of Shemitah, and this book. Based on what I have read here, I am beginning my study of Hebrew and the feasts, all to better understand the prophecy of the Bible. Biltz is cogent, understandable, and brilliant. The material is relevant, succinct, and very well presented. I read it in two days! You MUST read this book!

The book begins slow but hang in there because Blitz shows us treasure in the Scriptures most Westerners have no idea exists. This is a compelling, eye-opening read.

Blitz reveals the importance of the Jewish Feasts and significance with Jesus' birth and his return. This is a book to read and recommend to others.

This book should be read by all Christians. We have not been thought our Jewish roots. After reading this book, I see how things all come together. The bible has always made sense to me but now it is in vivid color and the pieces all fit together so much clearer
. I highly recommend this book.
