When you live on an island and lose your ferry service, thoughts turn to boating. I bought several boating related books for Christmas. This one seems to be the most helpful with detail, diagrams and photos on all aspects of powerboating and sailing. Particularly interesting were chapters on anchoring, docking, navigating, using GPS, radio procedures, dealing with waves and wind and knots. A very helpful quick reference guide.
