But Malcolm believed that black people should stand up for their rights and he preached this belief everywhere he went. His message became popular because it was one of hope and pride. But it also became dangerous, because some people didn't agree with him. In 1965, one ...more

I think this book is great because of how much information and detail it had in it. I really liked how the book actually described how he took care of racism, however, one thing I did not like about it is the book kind of got boring at the end. when I was reading this book actually gives so much detail that you can imagine exactly what happened

Recommends it for: Students grades 4-8 who are not great readers, or adult literacy students
My friend Adelle, a college professor who teaches adults with very low reading levels, asked if there were any interesting biographies out there written at a low reading level that aren't obviously for children so that it's not humiliating to carry around if you're an adult. This was one of them. Very simplistic biography of X that explained enough for someone to know what he was about, where he came from, and how he died. I never knew what the X stood for, so I got something out of it, too!

This book is truly inspiring,

Malcolm X is truly my hero. He was a black muslim and went to mecca " the holy land", that is when he saw that other races got together, sadly he was later assasinated, due to changes o0f ideaology. At first he wanted blacks and whites to be seperate, until he went to the holy land (mecca) and saw that white and blacks got together

This was a story about the life of Malcolm X. This book was a little long but it really explained the life of Malcolm X very well. This could be used in an upper elementary history class to learn about the life of Malcolm X and the history of the African American movement.

My dad reccomends a lot of books that I should just read, because I just need to know about the information. This is one of the books he has requested, so when im finished with "The Pact" I plan on reading this book.
