Wow... I went through this book like a whirlwind, and devoured it within one afternoon. I LOVED it, even more than the first (and that one is hard to beat).

The Enlightening begins right where The Tempering left off, and the trio are forced to ignore their attractions and focus on staying alive as they trek off into the forest. They continue to be caught up in their love triangle, and Mackenzie is unable to decide between Geoff, a Were who gave up his home and family of 200 years, or Liam who is

The Enlightening continued right from where The Tempering left off and was just as much fun and as exciting. Actually, it was even more so! It also contains a surprise or two for readers... Any fans of the genre will enjoy their time spent with this book.

Mackenzie is not only living a brand new life with too many changes to name. She's caught dead center in the middle of a love triangle and finds it virtually impossible to choose between the two men that have become an important part of her life

The Enlightening was an intriguing novel that upped the ante from the first book.

Taking place right after where The Tempering left off, book two derives new problems, more challenges, and a whole lot of twists and turns!!

I was so intrigued and glued to this book that I didn't even notice that I hit the last page when I did!

I'm most definitely and impatiently waiting for the third installment to see what's coming next so count me in!!

Lovely book by Adrianne James!
The Enlightening picks up right on the heels of where The Tempering ended. Mackenzie is on the run with Geoff and Liam (the perfect love triangle). Now normally I'm not a huge fan of the triangle - but in this case all parties know what is going on - no one is hiding their feelings for each other, so it didn't really bother me. While this is one of the driving points it is not the only one. The main purpose of their journey is to find a place where they can live peacefully, and warn every pack t ...more
Story wise, it was better than book 1 but there are serious grammar and spelling mistakes which spoilt some of the enjoyment.

The book begins where book 1 finishes and Mackenzie, Geoff and Liam have struck out on their own. With little money and needing to keep under the radar, they spend much of their time sticking to the forests but the constant complaining by Liam about the cold means they start to head South West. Mackenzie is still determined to warn as many packs as she can about the threat

I started this book as soon as I finished The Tempering. It picks up right where we left Mackenzie and the boys homeless and wandering through the forest. The sexual tension is ridiculous with a capital "R" and I found myself torn between who Mackenzie should choose. I liked how Adrianne put her characters in real situations where they didn't always make the best choice (Mackenzie, I'm talking about you) and they were forced to pay the consequences for that. In the mean time, there is so much ac ...more

Disclaimer: I received this book for free through a Goodreads giveaway.

The book was a fun, quick read. Don't expect to be spending too much brainpower on this book - it's mostly pretty superficial and easy to understand, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Pros: Doesn't suffer from 'middle book syndrome' too much (it is the second book in a trilogy) and it is pretty fast paced in both action and romance aspects of the book. Quite a few interesting revelations throughout the novel kept my interes

I was wrong, this book did not hold any promise of being more interesting than the first. The unique take on werewolf mythology is dampened completely by a pathetic attempt at a "complex" love triangle. Liam is lame and flat with no discernible chemistry other than what the author tells us is there and Geoff, who has palpable chemistry is clearly not trust worthy. And Mackenzie is so wishy washy about her feelings you don't really feel like she loves either man. This lame love triangle eats up m ...more

let me say how much I love this series. The second book is as good as the first and can't wait for the next installment to come out. With all honesty the plot and the twists were awesome. I was so rooting for one thing and then another thing happened and omg, it was great. The author keeps your attention all the way through the book and you just don't want to put it down. I'm just frustrated that I have to wait for the next book to come out, because I'm not a patient person. Absolutely love this ...more

This book picks up the story where The Tempering left off. It was a really enjoyable read but the book is in serious need of proofreading. Lack of proofreading was an issue with the first installment of this series and I assumed the issue would be corrected by book 2. Quick example of this is the use of the word dinner when the author meant diner. If this could be ignored then the story flowed nicely. Overall 3.5 rating.

Recommends it for: Everyone
I was gifted this book for an honest review.
This whole series so far has kept me wanting for more. Nothing was predictable at all; kept me guessing all the way to the last page and still trying to guess what's going to happen. This author keeps your imagination running none stop and sucks you into every word and detail. Can't wait for the next book in the series so I can find out more.

This was better then the first. A little twist I wasn't expecting. I couldn't put it down after I started reading it. New emotions, old friendships, and a little back stabbing going on. I cant wait for the next one.
