First off the book has some proofreading and editing issues, I intend to speak to the author about this separately. If you get past those what you have is a reasonably decent tale of 5 different kids living in an gang controlled apartment in New York. They are all loosely connected to each other mainly by school but they get lumped together when they find a set of 5 artefacts that give them great powers.

They all have different real life issues that get mixed up with their new found abilities and

Exciting and clear characterization gives this adventure a comic-book ease

The Five of Us tells the story of five young men, growing up in a harsh world controlled by gangs and mixed loyalties. But one thing comes to unite them; after encountering a set of artifacts they all begin possessing superhuman powers which they must learn to control.

The author does a really good job of keeping the five characters separate, each with a vivid story all his own. This is harder that it sounds, especially
