He's always been her weakness...

Injured and discharged, Marine Levi Haywood has returned to his family's ranch to heal and start a new life. After all, once a cowboy, always a cowboy. The only problem? Life at the ranch has moved on since he joined the service, and suddenly his role in the family business is much less clear. And things get a lot more confusing when the w

4 - "We have unfinished business." Stars!

Being the third book in the Paint River Ranch series I had no doubt that I would enjoy Can’t Resist a Cowboy. Elizabeth Otto has put together a cast of likeable and relatable characters and given them stories that play out in some really beautifully described settings.

Levi Haywood has been away from Greenbrook, Montana serving his country, after being honorably discharged due to an almost debilitating injury he has returned home, to his family and Paint R

I'm a bona-fide city girl and for some reason when I read Elizabeth Otto's Can't Resist A Cowboy, it makes you want to pack up your bags and move to the countryside of Montana and find your own cowboy. What makes this book even hotter and sexier is that this cowboy is a former Marine and your first love. As a big fan of first love and second chance romance, Can't Resist A Cowboy fits into my criteria of what I crave in romance bo

I've adored Elizabeth Otto's Paint River Ranch series and Can't Resist a Cowboy is a good finale. Granted, for me, it didn't hold quite the emotion pull as its predecessors, but Levi and Carrie were another endearing couple who haven't had an easy-time of things.

description

Second chance love, an injured ex-marine/cowboy and a heroine with a life-long illness that could change her life. Combined, this held huge promise, and whilst Levi and Carrie's circumstances did pull on the heartstrings, I was expectin

Sweet and hot story, with characters who are extremely stubborn. Also nice to see the characters from the prior Paint River Ranch books.

Ok.  I'm experiencing technical difficulties so, I'm writing this review from my written notes.  Normally, I go through my highlights on my digital copy and relive reading the book.  Well for some reason, I can't access it to enjoy the rereading.  I really wanted to get this review out there, so here I am.

In a nutshell... I LOVED it.  Let me say though, that I am a huge fan of this author and this series and I have been anxiously awaiting Levi's book.  The wait was almost too much for me and I n

This sexy second chance romance is the story of Levi and Carrie. High school sweethearts, when Levi joined the Marines he left Carrie behind, knowing in his head that he was doing the right thing even if it broke his heart and Carrie's. Now both back in the same town, he's adjusting to life again as a recovering veteran and Carrie is home to help her father with his ranch. Meeting up is inevitable, and when Levi makes it clear that he wants a second chance, Carrie must decide if she can trust hi ...more

Can’t Resist a Cowboy is one of those feel-good stories featuring a cowboy and a very sweet heroine. Levi Haywood came home from Afghanistan to work on his family’s ranch, Paint River Ranch. Carrie Lynn is back home in Greenbrook, Montana temporarily to visit her father.

Since their family ranches neighbor each other, Levi and Carrie grew up together. I loved that aspect of this story. Not only do they share a childhood history together, but they were also sweet

Ha! That title is totally, completely, 100% true. I CAN'T resist cowboys, especially not sexy ones like Levi...

Levi Haywood returned from war broken but determined to get his life back. Doing so means fighting for the girl he left behind years ago... Carrie Lynn Waite.

Carrie's health took her away from her home and the ranch, but back for a visit, seeing Levi again has her wishing things could be different.

Can these two imperfect people find a way to make their perfect love a reality?

Oh Levi

3.5-4 stars.

Really enjoyed this one.

Really liked Levi and Carrie and the way they dealt with things in the end.

The way Carrie dealt with her diabetes and then her upcoming blindness was realistic in a way, I mean, all her life others told her what to do and she finally got her saying on things, even when her Dad didn’t agree. I’d be scared as hell, but it was lovely the way Levi took her battle as his own as well and helped her in ways she really needed.

It was a lovely read and I loved how thing

When I was first invited by the publisher to review this title I wasn't sure what to expect. I accepted the review blinded and yet instantly as soon as I read the opening line of the first chapter I was hooked! This book was a devouring read that I simply could not give enough of and with a hero with swooning over I'm happy to offer this book a large amount of praise.

First, I want to point out that this book is not a standard, western romance and I am so thankful. Finally an author such as Otto

This is the third book and a great addition to the Paint River Ranch series. Marine Levi Haywood has returned home to the ranch after being seriously injured whilst on duty. He has fought to enable himself to walk again but struggles with pain and coping with the hard work associated with ranching, though he is reluctant to ever admit that to anyone.

The love of his life was Carrie Lynn Waite. Her father owns a neighbouring ranch and actually encouraged Levi to leave her behind when he enlisted.

In this one you will read how love can overcome many a obstacle and be there through thick and thin. This is also a second chance one I would say too. Great combo of what I like too in a novel with the characters. Levi who was once a marine now discharged due to a injury has come home back to what he knows being a cowboy. Carrie has come home to try and help her father but things might just not have been in time. She also has diabetes one of the reasons she was kinda pushed to leave in the first ...more

This book is #3 in this Elizabeth Otto series and is better than #1 and much, much, much better than #2 which I found to be simply one erotic sex scene after another. #2 had an ok heroine, but the hero was, in my estimation, a very shallow man.

But this one...ahhhh, this one is about the love between two people...a woman with a major health issue and a man she's loved her whole life who served two tours in Afghanistan and came home injured. One of the things I liked about the way these characters

Having read the previous two books of the Paint River Ranch series and some other books by Elizabeth Otto I was looking forward to this book.
I can’t say that I was disappointed, I really enjoyed this book. The story and its characters.
In this third book we finally get to meet and to get to know better Levi. Like his brothers he is very charming and a cowboy through and through, on top of that he is a Marine. What more can we ask for?
He is stubborn and meets his match with Carrie. He also is stil

If you’re looking for a book to make you ugly cry then you have found it. Also, Levi is a military man and a cowboy?? SCORE!!!! Ok, back to my sappiness…… Carrie and Levi have a forever kind of love and no amount of hardship will keep them apart. It’s enough to make a girl sigh and more than a little bit weepy but that’s okay because sometimes you just need that from a story.

I love a book that can take me from the highest high to the lowest low on the emotional roller coaster and this one certa

A second chance is the opportunity Carrie and Levi have at true love. Though they have to rehash the past in order to move forward. Easier said then done. Levi is struggling with his injury he sustained overseas. Carrie is struggling with her uncertain future. Can they make it work or will history repeat itself? Loved the humor and the characters. Plus getting to revisit previous characters. You can feel the struggle for these characters, but the drive Levi has to convince Carrie to stay at the ...more

When you've faced death and overcome nothing seems so hard to overcome and that's how Levi felt about his relationship with Carrie
he had left her behind when he joined the marines but he was not willing to do that again, regardless of what her father wanted and what she thought.
His love so strong that he found a way when no one else was willing to.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review. This was a story that shows you can go back. The hero thought he did the right thing when he was young, but he hurt her by doing it. Now they have another chance and it is fun seeing how they handle it. It helps that it is about a veteran, love reading about Military and ex Military.

There are two things I have a hard resisting when it comes to stories: cowboys and wounded warriors. This has both and I truly loved this story. There is a ranch to save and he needs her help. The great thing about this story was it was funny and sexy at the same time, starting with the first page. Great story.

I just love Paint River and was so happy to finally have Levi’s story. I love second chance romances and wounded heroes, and this story delivered both. Throw in a heroine that is so strong despite the adversity she has faced all her life, and this book had all the elements I like in a book.

Levi and Carrie have a history – one that ended in heartbreak when Levi enlisted and left Carrie wondering what happened to her happy ever after. When Levi returns and Carrie comes back to town for what she th

They both have fears but if they can be together they can overcome whatever comes.

This is the third installment in the Paint River Ranch and one that had a great storyline. These were two characters that had a second chance to be together but because of an illness it could tear them apart but I love Levi because even if she did leave he would be waiting for her. This was an emotional story but there was light at the end of the tunnel and it seemed that Levi was able to make her see the light but

Can't Resist a Cowboy was...okay. It should have been a win-win. I love second chance romances, and heck, I really can't resist a cowboy, especially one who's been in the military. While I really liked Levi (see previously mentioned reasons, plus, he's just plain awesome), I had a hard time connecting with Carrie. She was just so...passive. It seemed as if her whole life she'd been at the whims of others--her dad especially--and practically controlled by her disease--diabetes--and she never real ...more

4.5 stars. I am a sucker for second-chance romances, especially when a wounded cowboy is involved, so I went into this book expecting an enjoyable but familiar tale of a damaged vet being healed by the love of a good woman, with bonus reunion points on the side. What I got instead was a gorgeous tale of a strong man already healing, a love worth revisiting and a woman suffering from her own dark future.

There are no small, silly dramas in this story. Instead there’s a ranch being saved from the b
