Katie Lane...is a trip. I mean, seriously, how many times can you say you've gone on a high speed chase with Elvis that ended with the heroine pepper spraying the hero--who, you know happens to be the Sheriff--going on the lamb and finding safe haven in a henhouse? *slow blink* Yup, A Match Made in Texas was just...gloriously awesome and exactly what I love about Katie Lane. It was a fun read that kept me laughing and sighing and totally had me falling for Bri and Dusty as their worlds collide i ...more

The southern humor that Ms Lane instills in her books is nothing short of comedic genius. All the crazy cast of town characters are back in this latest that features the baby of the Cates family, Brianne Cates.

Being raised with 4 older brother’s Brianne wanted nothing more than to do all the crazy things her brother’s did growing up. But her father wasn’t haven’t any of that so her adventurous side had to be put away in favor of acting like a lady. Well when she got older she made sure to do th

Hello Dusty!

Oh my goodness, I almost could not believe I have missed out on Katie Lane for so long. Looking for something a bit more lighthearted to read, I stumbled upon A Match Made in Texas on Netgalley and was really eager to read it.

Once I started it, I had a hard time putting it down.

A Match Made in Texas has everything I wanted. A small town romance set in Texas, humor, and a whole cast of characters that I couldn't help but fall in love with.

My Review:
This is one of the few series that I have read from the very first book. As a result, I jump when a new book is released. This one was no different, but this book didn't quite do it for me.

I loved most of the moments between Brianne and Dusty. And I loved the back story for Brianne with all her brothers. But there's a side story with a corrupt television evangelist which did NOT work for me. Him and his interactions with the townsfolk were downright ridiculous. In fact, there were a c

What a fun read this was! Dusty I just loved that boy to bits, "the smile faded as he turned to her. "And what exactly would I be apologizing for? Your reckless driving? Your blatant disregard for the law? Or how about almost getting both of us killed?" I mean Dusty and Bri sure have some interesting times together, "he told himself to put her down and step away, but his hands wouldn't cooperate. He held her trim waist in a death grip; her feet dangling and her curvy butt flush against his zippe ...more

I love this series! Katie Lane manages to pull off stories that are equally sweet, funny, and sexy with just the right amount of angst. When I heard this book was coming out, I read the entire series again just to refresh myself and it was just as enjoyable.

That being said, this was my least favorite of the series. Brianne's character felt off kilter to me throughout the book - I couldn't really see her as the innocent woman she (and apparently her family) claimed she was when her behavior was

I tell you I cannot get enough of these books. The lovely people of Bramble Texas are seriously like a bad episode of the Jerry Springer Show and you cannot help but stay glued and absorb every single page....

This is Dusty and Bri's story. Dusty is the sheriff of the neighboring town and Bri is sister to the Cates brothers, whom he have all met in previous books.

Bri heads off to spend some time at Miss Hatties in order to escape a stalker ex who posted not to flattering pictures of her topless o

It's been a few books in this series (at least for me) since Katie Lane hit all the right notes. IMHO, she did so with this story. The main characters Brianne and Dusty were both great. They've both got some emotional baggage to work through as well as some outside forces to overcome before they can find their H.E.A. and watching them struggle to get there was a fun adventure. Brianne Cates is the baby sister of the over protective four Cates brothers and her parents. Growing up in what for her ...more

So cutesy. Maybe a little too cutesy. It's definitely veering towards the fairytale side of contemporary romance - none of these are real people, nor do they act or react the way real people would - but it was a fun read. As romances go, there really wasn't a huge amount of romantic conflict - the hero and heroine hook up pretty early and then keep hooking up without a lot of drama about it. However, towards the end, there was an incident that was a huge problem for me: (view spoiler) ...more

Yahoo! It's back to the "Hen House" & the wonderful ladies that run this Bed & Breakfast. Of course we have to throw in the Cates Family, a Crooked Preacher that looks like Elvis, & the whole dang town. Come on back & have a whole lot of fun, ya hear!!

Loved most of the book except for the reverend who added a bad element to usually light hearted community moments.

A Match Made in Texas is another humorous installment in Katie Lane's zany and romantic Deep in the Heart of Texas series. In this latest outing, Brianne Cates' brothers exile her to Bramble to keep a brewing scandal at bay. But little do they realize their sweet, demure sister is, in actuality, a thrill-seeking adrenaline junkie who thrives on adventure. So when an irritating driver gets on Brianne's last nerve, she winds up in an exciting high speed(ish) chase with local sheriff Dusty Hicks. O ...more

A Match Made in Texas is book six in Katie Lane's Deep in the Heart of Texas Series. I Admit I have only read one other book in this series and I loved it! But I will tell you this. This is a FUN Series. Sure there are issues to be dealt with but in general it's a light hearted, tongue in cheek look at small town Texas. Somehow mayhem always ensues..

Home. Love. Books.
Ah, Texas, my home sweet home, I love a book with a Texas backdrop. And honestly this book sounded like something I would find highly amusing, Brianne getting in trouble with the local cop Dusty. Without a doubt the first interaction between Brianne and Dusty was hilarious, and just what I was looking for. Brianne’s reaction to getting pulled over was just short of insane, and hilarious to read, and after she made he escape, it was just as funny reading about the fall out she left behind for Dus ...more

Pure country goodness is what you will find in this book! I will be the first to admit some of the other books in this series have been a little ADHD’ish – all over the place but with plenty of fun! This book is nothing short of that; although, I did find it much easier to follow than some of the others. Also there is a clear merger of the main and secondary story lines which just made everything make sense.

If you love “The King” then you will get a hoot out of the character description of Rev

This is my first read by Ms. Lane and I know that I’m going to have to go back and read the other books so I can get to know some of the other characters. This book still can be read as a stand alone. I enjoyed this read it made me laugh in a couple of scenes and a couple of characters. The story started off so funny I could already imagine speeding on the highway and trying to pass a psycho Elvis impersonator. Brianne Cates has grown up with four over protective brother and parents that think she is a princess, but she is just as adventurous as her rowdy brothers. Only times she has been able to spread her wings and live on the wild side were by skipping out on going to the weddings of those said brothers. Those fun times have come back to bite her on the butt, because a guy she thought was just a frie

A love story that does not start out that way. Brianne Cates is having to leave here home and hide out in a small town in west Texas. Her four older brothers are tired of her always showing up on the inter net or in the papers embarrassing them and the family. So they ship her off. On her way there she ends up in a game of cat and mouse with a man in a red Cadillac who looks like an older version of Elvis. Brianne knows how to make an entrance and get noticed. Driving recklessly to pass a man dress as Elvis who played with her nerves will get her in trouble with the sexy sherrif. But it's running away after he arrested her that will only make things worst (but better for us readers ;p). She will still end up in jail for a night and will have to do community services. But since it's Bramble, Texas, things will be a little different. Brianne is not the only new person in town. A "Reverend" will try ...more

Oh my goodness! This book was crazy! There were so many things going on from a fallen TV evangelist who drives a Cadillac and looks like Elvis Presley, to bed-and-breakfast, formerly a real “henhouse,” run by three middle-aged flamboyant women, and a Mexican drug lord who escaped from prison and has come back to exact his revenge. And if that wasn’t awesome enough, the book starts off with a car chase followed by two attempts of resisting arrest and pepper spraying the mirrored sunglasses clad s ...more

This was my very first book by Katie Lane, but it will not be my last!

Brianne Cates is a wealthy socialite that's found herself in a little bit of trouble after a nude photo of her surfaces on the internet. Her four over protective brothers have instructed her to lay low in the little town of Bramble, Texas until all the fuss dies down.

This is the sixth book in the series; however, it can easily be read as a standalone.

Brianne Cates is part of a very wealthy family who believe she should be a quiet and sweet southern belle. Instead she is always trying to find a spare moment when the family’s attention is on other things so she can slip away and enjoy her love of extreme sports. One such time, she took a trip to Mexico with a male friend who happened to get her in a compromising picture. Now with the leak of the photo on the

This is the 5th book in this series and it doesn’t disappoint the readers either. I found myself not wanting to put it down and wanted to try to read slower so I could make it last as well. I also found myself laughing out loud with Kenny and his shin gains and even the women of Bramble had me laughing.
When Brianne Cates gets herself into trouble it is her brothers who put her in hiding tile it blows over. She is on her way to the henhouse when she has a run in with sheriff hicks. He is not ple

Great cast of characters, but short on the romance.

If I was rating this as a straight romance, I'd probably give A Match Made in Texas 3 stars. The hero and heroine meet cute: Brianne driving away from getting a ticket and the situation escalating so that Dusty arrests he and takes her in. Yes, a little forced, but amusingly written and the characters, like all of Katie Lane's, are likable. Unfortunately, they don't actually spend that much time together and interact so the chemistry could reall

Wow! Talk about an explosive first meeting. It's no wonder Brianne and Dusty's chemistry was so charged! Great idea too from Katie Lane to introduced "the bad guy" in this fashion. I still feel slime on myself as if the reverend "Elvis" had touch me. I cheered when the town realize what an asshole he was and didn't welcome him anymore.

I was surprise that the tone of the book wasn't light like I thought. But at the end, the mild heaviness of the situation served the story well and made me appreci

I was given an ARC to provide my honest review, and let me tell you this book is hilarious. The story focuses on Brianne Cates and Dusty Hicks.

Brianne has four super-mega over protective older brothers (can you imagine the horror) that treat her like she's a 2 year-old. While Brianne is in hiding, she just has to get pulled over by a cop, that she ran off the road. The cop she happens to nearly kill is none other than smokin' hot sheriff Dustin "Dusty" Hicks.

Dusty is a divorcee, with a daughter
