Not a super interesting or well written book. That may be a fault of it being thrown through multiple translations before arriving from latin to english. On the other hand, this book encapsulates the zeitgeist of the latter half of the twelfth century. This book can help you better understand the popularization of heaven and hell in the collective unconscious of humanity. The zeitgeist this book has preserved can also be applied to understanding much of the late medieval and resonance paintings such as The Garden Of Earthly Delights. If you are reading it for that reason, then it might be worth reading, however be sure to do further research into the book. It is nothing impressive without the context surrounding it that provides it with such meaning.
