Between the Shadow and the Soul is a love story...or is it? Protagonist Devin Post, a writing student and author wannabe, confuses imagination and perception, fantasy and reality. "Between the Shadow and the Soul" by Dennis Vickers which I won from Goodreads Giveaways is a humorous look at the dilemma of a student kicked out of school for insulting his professor on an English exam, then finding himself working for a Pharmaceutical company. First let me say I received this book via Goodreads first reads giveaway. Although it had an original and interesting story line it was quite wordy and a little difficult to get through. It was strange but kind of interesting to read romance from a male point of view. I am not a professional reviewer, just a typical reader. That being said, although I prefer books that flow well and are a quicker read, this book may appeal more to other readers.
