Katya Armock's To Growl or To Groan is book 2 of the Hidden Lines series. Chloe and Jorge are very believable and a slightly different twist on the paranormal. Chloe can talk to animals telepathically and Jorge is a jaguar shape shifter. Chloe is still dealing with her mother deserting her as a child and finding out about her abilities (which seems to be growing and changing). Add the stress of meeting Jorge's family to the mix and it becomes an eventful holiday.
Jorge is passionate and tries to

I enjoyed the storyline revolving around Chloe and Jorge. This story is about a young woman with the ability to speak to animals shifters telepathically. We watch Chloe learn more about her abilities and her mysterious family history. I was happy to see the story evolve and change. It did not center solely on Chloe but included her boyfriend and his family as a focus. I am looking forward to reading more from Katya.

I love shifter stories, and this one has an interesting twist being that the heroine, Chloe, isn’t a shifter herself. Her boyfriend Jorge is. But Chloe is the one who can actually communicate with animals telepathically, and I love how she does it. It’s like she’s simply chatting to a friend. And since Jorge is a jaguar shifter, she can also speak with him in this fashion, which comes in handy when they don’t want other people to know what’s going on, or simply to reach out to one another—a tele ...more

This book is 2nd in a series by Katya Armock. I hate reading books out of order, so after I received this one to do an honest review on, I bought the other one to read first. I enjoyed the first one, but I loved this one! Chloe has the ability to talk to animals telepathically. In the first book, Chloe met Jorge, who is now her jaguar shape shifter boyfriend. Because of her ability to talk to animals, she can also communicate with Jorge the same way since he is jaguar. As Chloe's abilities grow, ...more

To Groan or Growl is the second in a series, but it’s the first I’ve read. It’s an excellent title because one of the main characters, Jorge, is not only a very sexy man but he’s a jaguar shift-shaper too.
Chloe and he have a fun, romantic and hot relationship. Even though she isn’t a shifter, Chloe has some special gifts of her own, such as being able to “talk” to animals via telepathy, which does help when Jorge is a jaguar. Her abilities are growing though and she’s afraid that unless she can

I like books that are funny and fun to read (and hot!) but also make me think or look at the world in a new way. I am influenced by magic realism, comparative mythology, and esoteric spiritual practices from around the world.

These days you’ll find me writing, pet sitting, juggling a number of freelance gigs, and reigning as my home’s domestic goddess. I live in the Midwestern U.S. with my husband,
