In easy-to-understand language, Dr. Carter explains how to read test results and outlines all of the treatment options available for prostate cancer, from radiation therapy and radical prostatectomy to brachytherapy and Proactive Surveillance, an innovative approach pioneered by Dr. Carter and designed to preserve the prostate for life.
Fearlessly tackling the problem head-on, this guide will be a lifesaver for countless readers.

There will come a day...
... when I will want to have this info. Better to be prepared before needed than learn while under duress.
Super book, though it is 10 years old now. Despite that, the info here has led me to know what to look for updated info for.

After having a PSA test and getting limited info about what any of it means from my doctor, I wanted to read a book that was not specifically about cancer, but a general understanding of what a prostate is and does. Most men don't know more than that they have one, and when they get to a certain age, they should test it.
So, this book totally fit that bill. I know more about a prostate than I ever thought I could. Yes, the book is 10 years old, but it is written in a clear manner, and every man should read it. If I do need to know more about current treatment options and tests, I have a really good basis to do my research from.
