“In places that know more about heaven and hell than we do, you have a reputation, Gabrielle. To them you are known as the devil’s consort.”

When a body shows up near Peel Academy, all signs indicate the killer is a vampire. Ravaged throat, body drained of blood. At least that’s all it appears to be when the Politia, the supernatural police force, assigns Gabrielle to the c

2.5 stars because of Oliver

Can we just shut Oliver up, he irks me. He is selfish and self centered and considering he's a secondary character he does get a lot of scene time. The author was probably go for a light gay fairy character that provides the comic relief or something but Oliver is not it, he's making me want to dnf.

Gabrielle is almost raped and what does Oliver do, he asks her if the guy had nice man bits, he moves into her room so that when the next encounter happens he can snag the g

It's an Harry Potter meets Twilight meets magical creatures and serial killers kind of novel. I would have preferred a more developed story, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I started off liking this book a lot more than the first one, and I was pretty into it. Then I got to page 70ish and that changed.

Gabrielle literally woke up in the middle of the night to a naked man on top of her, attempting to sway her into having sex with him. She had to kick him off of her and she screams. But she isn't shaken by it,

This book wasn't as good as book 1. There just wasn't a lot that happened. In the first book there was non stop crazy shit happening. Gabrielle was constantly fighting for her life. She was a bad ass who took care of herself.

In this book the end was obviously really good. That's a given when it comes to Laura. However the leading up to the end just was eh to me. The only interesting things that kept happening were the visitors to her dreams.

However, the relationship build up for Gabrielle and An

Bought the second book in this series within a hour of finishing the first one. I absolutely love the chemistry between Gabrielle and Andre. Awesome book. I am dying for the next one!

Better than the first book, but still not my favorite series. The plot was predictable, none the less though I still enjoyed this more than the first book. It's a very addicting series, I'll give it that 👌🏼

Okay, so nothing really big happened in book two. Nice bridge I guess.

► Bodies turn up all around Peel, and the suspected killer is a vampire, naturally, Gabrielle, being the youngest of the vamps, is the one people fix their suspicions on.
► Gabrielle reluctantly accepted a job at the Politica, which is like the supernatural police. Turns out the politica are actually douches, and they annoyed me soooo much.
► Loving the romance, I felt like Andre actually never fit the descr

I received this book through one of the Goodreads giveaways.

Now, for the good stuff.

I haven't read the first one. Haven't even LOOKED at the first one. But after reading this, I want to. It's next on my "to buy" list.

When the "vampire" aspect was brought in, I admit I rolled my eyes - I'm not a big vampire book fan. However, Laura Thalassa definitely put a spin on the whole world that made it an enjoyable read. Seers and Witches and Fairies and... shifters? Point being, it included d

Review: I read the first book when I was on my vacation. I ate it up fast too. I loved the humor and the plot line was refreshing. Now I have finished off a few books that I needed to review and can get to this. I finished this on the last day of July. I've had to mull this over before I could start to write anything on it.

Oliver and Leanne are the best friends anyone can have.

I don't even know what to say about this book. Actually yes I do it was AMAZING. I am signed up to the newsletter so as soon as I found out the book was finally released I bought it right away. I just love Gabrielle and Andre's relationship and as the book progressed I found myself actually in awe over it. I love this series so much I would have to say it's pretty high up on my favorites list and I can't wait for the next installment. ...more

At least Gabrielle and Andre finally ceased to denounce their "soulmate" relationship. Too bad for handsome, especially talented Caleb who was attracted to her. Too bad for Leanne who would always be the friend who sacrifices and gives and loves and cherishes a friend who is busy going out and about her way. Too bad for the Devil whose attempts at luring his intended failed but no worries, the story goes on to another novel. ...more

If you haven’t read The Unearthly by Laura Thalassa or our review of it then we’d recommend you stop reading this and go do that. We don’t want to spoil the series for you so far!

This book wasn’t as good as The Unearthly in our opinion but it was a lot more fun. Mostly because Oliver is the best friend all girls should have. Case in

This quote from 84% really sums up what I have been thinking since book one:
"This was one of those moments where I really wished I knew more about how this world worked."

Thats right ladies and gentleman, right from the FMC's mouth right there! This is the main problem I have with these stories. The FMC has no idea what she is doing, or what she is stepping off in. She just runs off half cocked, living on a prayer.. with no knowledge, and seemingly no desire to get the knowledge necessary to s

Better than the first installment.
The characters seem a little better-developed and more realistic (except for André, who is way too much of a dreamboat) and the sleuthing adds dimension to the story and the world-building.

Not a masterpiece, but a pretty good read — a hint of Anita Blake, a pinch of Stephanie Plum (though Gabrielle could sure do with a bit more self-irony).
3 1/2 stars.

Wow. I actually enjoyed this book better than the first. There wasn't a dull chapter. It had ALL the supernatural plus serial killers plus a super wonderful love story. There were minor issues such as a few typos but it didn't take away from the experience of the book. I am finding this series wildly entertaining. I just want to ignore all of my adult responsibilities and read the next book!

Andre is the perfect love interest. Gabrielle is so much more fierce and yet more vulnerable in terms of A

I liked that the book has Vampires, (Andre kinda kept me reading on... he's got the "it" /King thing going. Plus, there are lots of other super-naturals, and Gabriella is learning to use more of her powers. So, it still reminds me of "Harriette Potter" meets Twilight, with shifters , a funny fairy, and lots of "bad guys"... the Devil, even... trying to kidnap or kill our heroine. I just don't like her personality much (still), and both she and her friends can be annoying... found myself skipping ...more

The Coveted picks up where the first book, The Unearthly ended…full of action and intrigue. A vicious murder creates problems for the new vampire: Gabrielle. She being a vampire automatically makes her a suspect, naturally. *rolls eyes* Moving on… So, since being part of a supernatural task force, Gabrielle is assigned to investigate the murder, and she thinks if she can figure out who the culprit is, she can clear her name. Only more murders pile in and Gabrielle is suspended in order to keep th ...more

It's rare but sometimes I actually like the sequel better than the original book. The Coveted was a more interesting story to me and it seemed the characters were more developed.

There is a serial killer preying on the supernatural students of Peel Academy and Gabrielle works with Andre to solve the killings. Also, the devil wants Gabrielle's soul.

Great second book! Well worth the 2.99 I paid for it.

Can't wait foe book 3 OK so I was hard on the first book but this second book was AMAZING! eh. same as the first one. i still think the 700 yr old vampire doesnt act with the wisdom of someone whos seen 7 centuries. And i found her friend oliver less querky and more just plain rude. could use more feeling in the imagery. but it was a quick and somewhat cute read despite i thought some thing jist felt off.

I honestly loved this book more then the first one.
There is mystery as well as romance.
We also learn more about the man in the suit
in this book as well as more of the supernatural community.

This was a spectacular read that not only captivating, but it was highly inventive as well. The world-building was colorful, and the characters were multidimensional.

Despite a few moments of lag, this book was awesome.
