4+ Grovel Stars
I was doing some shelf reorganization and noticed I never reviewed this book. And being that I love this author and this book, I felt that lack needed to be remedied.
This book was like a happy cake made of Harlequin-esque drama, scrumptious angst, and one of my all-time favorite romance ingredients ever: GROVELING.
Other ingredients include:
A marriage in trouble.
A rich Hero and his former waitress heroine.
An unwanted pregnancy.
And a "a-ha I found you even though you were hiding" discovery moment.
It even has amnesia for fucks sake, people.
Now, while that may sound like a cheesy season of General Hospital...
Homie don't care.
And, if you love any of the above listed ingredients, you won't care either.

4.5 Deliciously Angsty Stars
Revenge, they said was a dish best served cold. He'd been waiting for two years. And how much sweeter the payback would be no that he had her very firmly within his grasp.
When I first read The Unwanted Wife I thought, my god, it's like this author managed to put all my book turn ons into one glorious book to make for some guilty pleasure reading. I'm not ashamed that I stalked her incessantly afterwards in the hopes of seeing when she plans on releasing her next book. So when I saw that it was planned to be a series and the 2nd book was available on Netgalley, I was all over that book like a bitch in heat. There's no shame in my game. I'll freely admit it.
I was also a little nervous that this book would suffer from a case of NotLivingUpToTheGloryOfTheFirstBookitis. Well rest easy, my friends. If you loved the first book in the series, you will absolutely love this one too. If you like your angst hard core, your heroes to be incredible assholes, your heroines vulnerable but with an endearing inner core of strength, and your sex scenes steamy, and then the grovel of all grovels look no further than this book. For me, this particular combination is like the biggest book orgasm.
The book starts out much like the first one, with an emotional bang and then continues to leave you in a perpetual state of 'what the fuck'. Because it doesn't pain a clear picture for you about what happened. It trickles down information sporadically and slowly throughout the story. Which ultimately just makes you fall in love with both of the characters even more.
2 years ago, Bronwyn was crushed when her husband kicked her out after learning of her pregnancy. Forced to run and support herself and her child the best that she could, she's slowing wearing herself thin.
When she runs into her brother in law at the diner she works at, she's shocked to see the disdain, animosity and blame that he harbors towards her. She didn't want to leave Bryce, he kicked her out. So why is she getting all the blame?
Bryce only wants two things from his wife now, his daughter and revenge. After all, she ruined his life and then kept his daughter from him for 2 years. So he uses all the leverage he has to force her to move back in with him. All the better to have her on hand to make sure she knows just how much he despises her. He does not mince his words, and he does not show her any mercy.

Because that is all you'll be getting from me. The rest of this book must be experienced without any spoilers. And it is impossible to tell you more without revealing any.
What I can tell you is that you have to prepare yourself for one hell of an emotional ride. This will pull at all your heart strings. It follows one of my all time favorite formulas of angst overload with the grove of all grovels.
Bryce is such a cold bastard and incredible asshole towards Bronwyn. First you can't figure out why he harbors all this hate towards her. But then slowly, piece by tiny piece, more and more information get revealed and you begin bracing yourself for that moment. You know the one. Where the hero finally realizes just how royally he fucked up. And when it comes...God it's delicious
I love that even though the Bronwyn starts out as a weak female, she still maintains this inner core of strength. And while Bryce is a big giant asshole for the majority of the book, you still can't help yourself but fall for him.
Natasha Anders has now confirmed her status of auto-buy author for me. I will one-click any and all of her future releases and cannot wait until the 3rd book in this series comes out in June.
This book can easily be read as a standalone, but I would highly recommend reading the first book in this series just because it's one of my favorite books. It's just one of those guilty pleasure books you can't help but love and re-read over and over.

I really enjoyed The Unwanted Wife, It was a solid 4 star read for me. But I had felt that with just a tiny bit of polishing it would have been on the favorites shelf. So I was really excited about a second "Unwanted" book. Unfortunately after the first few chapters I knew my hopes for the second book were falling short and in the end I was pretty darn disappointed in A Husband's Regret.
The biggest issue that showed its ugly face really early in the book was the damn "big misunderstanding". I absolutely HATE that. It sets the premise for the characters being too stupid to live. You really can't figure this out? People please! When you're in a relationship with someone and you are both blissfully in love, is it really THAT easy to run away? To the point where something that happens (not cheating) in one night causes a 2 year estrangement? She is that insecure in her marriage and he is that dumb? If that's the case then I am immediately convinced that the characters I'm going to devote my valuable reading time to are either stupid or crazy. In this case they were both.
One word can sum up pretty much every angle of this story "WEAK". Bryce's initial reaction to Bron's pregnancy,and his reasoning behind his reaction dumb and weak. Bron's fleeing the house after her pregnancy announcement and secluding herself for weeks, dumb and weak. Bron's not thinking it odd why her loyal husband of two years NEVER tried to find or contact her, even if it was to ask for a divorce. Oh, I forgot she used some long lost relative's maiden name. Dumb and weak. Bryce's supposedly very, very wealthy, to the point he has a security TEAM, but the guy can't find his wife? Bryce's reason for hating Bron, ultra, super, stupidly, WEAK. There was no reason for any of the horrible things that occurred in this book to have happened. As a reader I need way more depth in both my characters and the story lines I'm reading. If I don't I feel slighted and it makes me bitter and in turn I compose angry reviews... Ok, rant over.
This was just stupid characters. I can't even say stubborn because what they did (or didn't do) can't be summed up with a simple personality trait such as stubbornness. Something I remember hearing a comedian say popped in my head continuously throughout this book "you can't fix stupid". These people deserved each other.
One other thing I feel I need to throw out there... Bronwyn and Bryce's daughter Kayla at the time the couple find each other again is 18 months old. Now it is briefly mentioned that Kayla was an "early talker" but come on, this BABY is 18 months old and she speaks in some events, in complete sentences! It was never mentioned however that she was a child genius. I was waiting for her to bust out "Why hello my newly introduced Uncle Richard, might you pass me the Gray Poupon?" "Oh pardon me, what I meant to say was 'Unka Rick, horsey'!!!" This really irked me, it did not endear me to the child at all.

After reading and liking Natasha Anders The Unwanted Wife… https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... I was looking forward to the next book in her Unwanted Series.
A Husband’s Regret, the 2nd book in the series is…..like…..
Wow, what a story!!!! Angst, misunderstandings, groveling, undying love, cute kid, fabulous settings and a fav HEA….what else do we need from a romantic love story.
Another hero who acts like a total twit when faced with an unexpected revelation. The heroine tells her husband that she’s pregnant and he tells her to “get out!!!” Really, bastard!!!!
So the heroine disappears for a few years and he comes back into her life again and wants her back and the baby too!!!! Boy, did I like his groveling!!!!
I so connected with the settings, which I am so familiar with and love so much….Camps Bay, Cape Town, Plettenberg Bay…..ooh, I was in heaven.
I am really happy I discovered this “local” author and plan to read the next book……His Unlikely Lover.
Of course I recommend this book to all those romance lovers out there!!!

”Get the hell out,” he said before turning to face her. Bronwyn tried not to flinch when she saw his face. There was nothing there – no anger, no regret, just a blank mask. She didn’t know this man at all. “Go now.”
I have a confession to make. When it comes to books featuring any kind of wealthy man/poor girl relationship, I prefer my heroes to lean towards the asshole side of the coin. Big time. You say the book your reading is about a misogynistic Sheik/Italian/Greek and or corporate billionaire looking to deflower a lovely but innocent virgin before dropping her for an arranged marriage he’ll end up loathing? You’re starting to speak my language. You say our virgin’s going to get knocked up and turned away by our wealthy and virile billionaire when she turns to him for help? Hook. Me. Up! As the “hero” continues to increase his level of assholeness, so increases the potential for a huge “WTF have I done” moment when the Douche finally realizes how badly he’s misjudged the situation and how much ass he’s going to have to kiss to get back into the heroine’s good graces. Luckily for me, A Husband’s Regret by Natasha Anders did not leave me disappointed.
Bronwyn and Bryce meet when he comes into her restaurant with his business partner for lunch and he proceeds to fall head over heels for pretty but plain Bronwyn. Of course she falls for the tall, perfect specimen of manhood right away and soon the two are married and living in his beautiful home on the South African coast. When Bron discovers that she’s pregnant and shares the surprising news with Bryce, she finds herself out on her butt and homeless before she can say “My husband’s a cray cray SOB.”
Fast forward two years and Bronwyn’s barely managing to hold it together. Her daughter’s healthy and flourishing but the overwhelming stress of Bronwyn’s life is causing her health to deteriorate. She’s in no way prepared to run into her Brother in Law at the restaurant she works in and even less prepared to deal with his obvious hatred of her. When she blacks out and is taken to the hospital, she’s finally reunited with her hubby. Except he seems to hate her and blames her for keeping him away from his child when she was the one forced to leave. It becomes obvious that Bryce has suffered through some kind of accident and blames Bronwyn for that as well. Can’t a girl catch a break? As the story progresses, we learn exactly what’s got Bryce’s panties in a bunch and just how much groveling he’s going to have to do to win back his baby mama and love of his life once his WTF moment hits.
If you read and liked Ms. Anders first book The Unwanted Wife or you enjoy the Harlequin/Mills and Boons type of books that thrive on asshole heroes, I highly recommend A Husband’s Regret. Just when I thought Bryce didn’t have any more jerk left in him, something new would sneak in there and give me hope that his level of jackassery was not to be matched. The subsequent grovel and eventual HEA worked for me because Bryce owned his crazy and tried everything in his power to make it up to Bronwyn. I’m already looking forward to the third book in the series.

REVENGE, THEY SAID,
WAS A DISH BEST SERVED COLD
This was the story of Bronwyn and Bryce. Two years previously Bryce had told Bronwyn to go away and leave after she dropped the bombshell that she was pregnant... they were not long married and it had not been planned. Yes, it was full of misunderstanding and crossed messages and mistrust.
"Get the hell out ….. Go now."
Bronwyn is now back living with Bryce and he blames her for absolutely everything that has happened in the past two years. He does not believe her. Her health is at an all time low. Her daughter is thriving but Bronwyn is not in a good place.
Cannot really say too much about this without giving stuff away but suffice it to say that Bryce is a total Ass for a good bit of the book. Bronwyn cannot get a break with him. And when he realizes he might not be as blameless as he thinks he is … well, lets just say that it is nice to see him groveling.
"Well, I think she’s a little angry, don’t you?"
I liked that Bronwyn was not a complete doormat and could stand up to Bryce but it was kind of getting a bit too much for her.
Loved that it was set in South Africa – have not read many books that have been set there. Have had a glass or three of Stellenbosch in my day ….
"Do you love me?"
I thought their daughter was great, loved that she wasn’t a perfect little miss and had her temper tantrums and meltdown toddler moments ... my kids were perfect so I never had to deal with that!!
I already liked this author from her first book, The Unwanted Wife so was delighted when I was approved on NetGalley for an ARC. I would definitely recommend this book.
Bryce and Bronwyn had a long journey to take but I loved being there with them!

Two years ago, Bronwyn heart was broken. When sharing the news of her pregnancy with her husband, Bryce, she does not get the response she was looking for.

When they unexpectedly cross paths again, a sick Bronwyn finds herself moving back in with Bryce. Bryce is cold and angry, blaming Bronwyn for everything that has happened in the past two years. Bryce's treatment leaves Bronwyn baffled, she only did what he asked of her. As these two spend time together, they struggle to make sense of the past. These two drove me crazy, at times a wondered if they both were suffering from multiple personalities.
Misunderstanding and hateful words keep these two in constant limbo. I was equally annoyed with both characters, but towards the end, it was mainly Bronwyn that I wanted to beat into submission, lol. Overall, this was a good angsty read, dealing with insecurities, forgiveness, and second chances.

This is my second book by Natasha Anders, but I am quickly becoming a big fan! I decided to read this one against my better judgment when I saw my friends review. I am not a fan of angst, I get totally overwhelmed by it. I also didn’t think I could get past Bryce’s horrible reaction and words to Bronwyn's pregnancy. BUT I did and I LOVED IT!
I started this audio and fell completely in love with Bronwyn. She just had her entire world blow up in a matter of minutes. She is excited to learn her and her husband are having a baby. Only to have him throw her out of his life once he learns the news. I wanted to understand Bryce, but couldn’t imagine what could drive a man to react this way.
The story picks up two years later, Bryce has found Bronwyn and brings her back home. I loved Bryce pretty quickly then, because of his obvious love for Kayla. I still wasn’t sure his motives in the beginning, but his love for his daughter was transparent. As the past began to unfold I could really understand Bryce, something I was not sure I ever could.
I loved watching Bryce and Bronwyn struggle, fall in love and learn to love again. This story is so heartbreaking at times and written so well I felt their pain. This isn’t the book I would typically go for, but I am addicted now - I want to read all of books in the series!

4.5 Angsty, Emotional Stars!
This is a book completely based on one mistake, wrong words spoken, that spiraled into a pit of despair.
When Bronwyn informs her husband, Bryce of her pregnancy, she's blown away by his negative response. Sure, it's unexpected but accidents happen. The last thing she expected was for him to tell her to get out. But that she did...she walked out...and didn't see him again for two years. She's very sick, frail, and trying to raise their daughter on a waitress salary. She left behind a life of luxury but she had to leave...to protect her daughter from the man who didn't want her, threw her away, threw their marriage away.
Bryce has been looking for Bronwyn for two long years. When his brother runs into her at a restaurant, he makes the call. She's very ill and as much as he hates her for "what she did to him," he demands she come back to their home with his daughter. He won't make this easy for Bronwyn but a little blackmail to keep her there under his roof should do the trick. She took two years away from him and his daughter Kayla, and he wants it back...
That's all you get. This is a book that I'd refrain from reading a lot of reviews for fear of spoilers. It's also one of those books that hauls you into the climax in the prologue but then trickle feeds you the story before and after that scene. When I say angst, I'm saying ANGST. You know, the kind where you're reading and your heart is a flutter and your insides are twisted tight. Yup! This is it. Killer.
It's also one of those books where the guy is a total ass...treats her with such unfeeling scorn, you're begging her to escape him with little Kayla...hide. Why allow this arrogant asshat to control you and make you feel like the dirt on his shoe? Oh yah, because you secretly want it to work between them. You can see attitude, hear his words but know that it's all really just a front to protect his heart from being shredded again...all from one giant misunderstanding. Gah! If they could just talk...but he won't listen. You want to hate him but the author trickle-feeds you information that switches you to Team Bryce. I found myself a bit....swoony?
I'm a sucker for a jerky guy...almost as much as when said guy flips the switch and realizes his mistake in judgment and grovels like no other to make things right. But the events that happens between these two, the hurtful things said and done, can they put it aside and rebuild their marriage one step at a time? Deep down they both love each other still...but it's buried beneath misconceptions and lack of trust.
Loved. This. Book. It had all the elements I love in a great read.

When I saw this upcoming gem on NetGalley, I had to have it. NOW. After reading Natasha Anders' The Unwanted Wife, I was hooked. Both books are similar plot line of misunderstanding and love gone wrong and their battle back. Different characters but there is a tiny cameo towards the end of the characters in TUW. This author will be an auto-buy for me in my quest for all things emotionally angsty.

This is one of those book where the hero blames the lame heroine for his own shortcomings.
I was so mad until the end and then it got somewhat better.
But for me it was too late jerk-face!
They are both just foolish and it was painful to watch how much the hero enjoyed blaming the silly heroine for everything and nothing.
It was just pushing my limit!
However, when he finally does GROVEL at the end made it worth two stars!
Without it I would have completely written this one off!
Sorry, I don't think guys who blame others for their own inadequacies is worth my time.
I would only recommend for those who like a good grovel story.

I've reread The Unwanted Wife (the companion novel in this series by the same author) a couple of times and loved it every single time, so I had high expectations for this book going in. But this book was a complete waste of my time. All the problems between Bryce and Bronwyn could have been solved if one of them had just opened their mouth and voiced it to the other.
First things first, I felt that the story was overwhelmingly weak. Bryce's purported reason for shunning his wife and hating her (ie. a vision he had at his accident) was just so hard to believe. And it's completely unrealistic. This whole "misunderstanding" that was the premise for the ENTIRE book didn't make a whit of sense. If you're in a healthy and loving relationship, would your first instinct be to run away at the first sign of trouble? Obviously not. So tell me how it's possible that one simple misunderstanding can cause a 2-year estrangement like the author really is on something here 💀💀💀 And even assuming they somehow went from being a loving couple to hating each other's guts in 24 hours – during that 2 years, neither of them ever tried to file divorce papers or contact the other? If I hated my husband's guts I'd be desperate to get him out of my life ASAP. Going into it the whole story didn't make sense and I knew I wouldn't enjoy it from the start.
My next grievance was Bronwyn. She was just about the most spineless, irritating, insecure heroine I've ever read. I really, seriously, don't care that she supposedly went through a lot of trauma and a pregnancy alone, worked 2938382 jobs, etc. Boo fucking hoo. In the first place if she wasn't so insecure about her marriage she wouldn't have fled abruptly and put herself in this situation. And then after Bryce or Bruce or whoever comes back into her life she just lets him walk all over her with regards to their daughter, sex, not divorcing, etc. I just couldn't stand it.
And because the "problem" Bryce/Bruce had with her was solved about 50 pages in, the rest of the book is just a disappointing lack of COMMUNICATION that only happens right at the end, after a whole lot of NOTHING. I don't care how good-looking or how swoon-worthy the hero is, the fact that he felt he was "too much of a man" to tell her about his abusive father and his past trauma was a huge turn-off. His refusal to communicate was basically a large part of the reason their marriage problems dragged on for so long. And it's so hard to believe he loved Bronwyn because of that. If you love your wife, maybe some trust and confidence would be nice??
Also another personal reason I hated this book (which is somewhat of an unpopular opinion) – I really cannot stand kids and I actively try to avoid them whenever possible. Books with kids always tick me off but at the same time I know that it's sometimes an unavoidable subject in HEAs and mostly try to bear it. That being said, Kayla was particularly annoying. I can't even put my finger on why but every time she appeared I contemplated throwing my phone at the wall. The book could have done without her and I would be much happier reading it.

Really disappointed in this story. I think I set my expectations way too high. I loved The Unwanted Wife. I actually love stories about asshole husbands/boyfriends/fiancées, who redeem themselves by the end with tons of groveling. I didn't feel I really got that with this story. And LOTS of hot, steamy make up sex. Well, I didn't feel I got that either.
First off Bronwyn gets kicked out of the house by her husband for doing the unthinkable (gasp!), she got pregnant accidentally. Bryce is a total dickhead about it, talking shit to her, blaming her for doing it intentionally and throwing around a whole bunch of accusations at her before kicking her ass out. Angst? Yeah, so far loving it. He's gonna grovel SO MUCH!!! Well....he doesn't. I was sorely disappointed in the lack of ass kissing that I thought was definitely necessary to make amends by the end of this story. But, I digress, back to the story....
Bronwyn goes out on her own, getting a job and finding a dump that she can afford to live in with her baby. She barely scrapes by, starving herself from lack of funds, and getting deathly sick in the process. When they finally see each other face to face again TWO YEARS LATER, we find out that uber rich Bryce had people out looking for her, paying private detectives to track her down. Apparently they weren't very good private detectives, because they can't find a trace of her. Not a one. Hmmm. Just ridiculous. Not only that, Bronwyn tried to contact him, calling him at his office where his people told her to fuck off (not really those exact words, but pretty much the same meaning), and she tries to call him at home, but apparently uber rich Bryce cannot afford an answering machine and nobody was home to take the call, DOH!! And it went downhill for me from there. Now that they've found each other again, they still don't like each other because of the hurt of the past, but they decide to live together for the sake of their child. They decide they will still date other people, Bronwyn will go back to school and get a job, and Bryce will finally get to watch the kid for a change. We get to constantly hear Bryce tear Brownwyn down and talk shit to her for most of the rest of the story, and boy is that ever fun. He's a total dick, and why she doesn't pack up her shit and move out again is beyond me. He finally pulls his head out towards the end, but by then I couldn't have cared less if they actually got back together, and couldn't wait to get to the end of the story. I was so tired of reading how much the loved each other and didn't want to divorce, but had to, so they could make each other happy. Just stupid. If you want a lot of angst to your story, this one has it in spades. The story wasn't all that brilliant though. The characters act so stupidly so many times, I was finally to the point of wishing they'd both just get divorced and find some different partners that they could actually be happy with. Oh, and what sex there was with this story, was kind of pathetic. Felt to me like the Author had lost some of her Mojo since her first book came out. This one didn't compare at all.

And so begins A HUSBAND'S REGRET?I waited anxiously for the second book in Natasha Ander's Unwanted series.This book lived up to the promise of the first.Bryce was a fleeting character in the first book,if you blinked ,you missed his appearance.
Bryce and Bronwyn met and married after a whirlwind courtship,she loved him and told him so frequently,he on the other hand ,never once confessed any feelings of love to her,she just accepted that he did.
After 2 years,Brownwyn drops the bombshell that she is pregnant with their first child.Instead of Bryce sharing her joy,he gives her the impression that he is not happy and lashes out,telling her to leave and never come back.Bron takes him to his word and leaves thinking that once he cools down,he will follow and they will get back together.
She goes to their summer home to wait for him,he never shows and this reinforces her belief that he does not what her or the baby.
Two years later ,an unexpected meeting with her brother in law at her place of work brings up the past.Bron is now the mother of an 18 month old baby girl and still recovering from a severe bout of the flu. Bron has never recovered from giving birth where she almost dies and her immune system has since been compromised.She is in shock and does not understand his animosity towards her.She collapses ,when she comes to,she is in hospital.Futher shocks awaits,Bryce is there and demanding to know what she did with his child.Further shocking is Bryce is now deaf.It seems that he did follow after her,but was in an automobile accident resulting in his hearing loss.He told his brother and best friend that her saw Bron at the side of the riad and she left him there to die.All misunderstanding is cleared up later as he had visual hallucinations of her being there.
Bryce meets his daughter for the first time at Bron's bedside and it was a touching moment.Every scene with father and daughter was moving.
Bryce takes his family back to his home.Bron is so full of resentment and hurt feelings that I really disliked her character thruout the book.She did not give Bryce a chance.At one point,she even went out on a date with her teacher.She insigated the divorce proccedings even though she still loved him.Byrce on the other hand,I felt sorry for him.He kept alot of his feelings bottled up.His feelings of being unworthy of love due to the abusive childhood he had at the hands of his father.His first memory of his childhood is a broken arm at the age of 3 courtesy of his father.So,yes,he had my sympathy.Even though he never told Bron he loved her,I could tell that he did,thru his actions and deeds.When he finally confessed,I teared up,as a matter of fact several times ,I was chocked up while reading .
When this couple had their HEA,it was a long time comming and I was pleased for them.
If you are a fan if HP's,then I am sure you will enjoy this book.It had all the elements of an angst filled read which I enjoyed.

Well, this one starts with a bang! Bronwyn’s excited to tell her husband Bryce that she’s pregnant and he couldn’t have freaked out more. From there all hell broke loose until his wife disappeared for two years.
By the time his brother happens upon her, Bryce is deaf from a car crash and their daughter is a toddler. And everything is her fault or is it his fault? There’s a lot of he said, she said in which nobody believes anyone.
Yet, for the sake of their daughter they come together very grudgingly.
I’m sure it comes to no one’s surprise (if you read the previous book; The Unwanted Wife) that it’s page after page of the most emotional rollercoaster.
Unfortunately I didn’t feel as connected to these two as I did to Theresa and Sandro. There were points that got under my skin but not nearly of the same magnitude. But I honestly can’t tell you why.
Perhaps it’s that Bryce didn’t have a foot to stand on. Perhaps his groveling technique wasn’t as good as Sandro. I’m sure it could’ve been a great many things but I did still enjoy this. I still rooted for them.

****MAY OR MAY NOT CONTAIN SOME SPOILER****
(Too tired to figure out myself)
Ok, anyone who's on my friend list already knows quite well what a sucker I am for a celibate hero when the couple are separated. That pretty much instantly rewards this book with 3 stars.
Second reason why I liked this book: heroine with a fucking (excuse my French) backbone. I understand she still fell in bed with him, even after what he did was inexplicable, she still loved him, but hey, he's the father of her child, they have good memories, whether it was by his own callousness or not, he was also hurt. BUT, does she just forgive him because he believes her after she has proven her innocence and because he has made some passing comments about love and forgiveness? No. She was happy with a second rate marriage before, but now that he has put her through hell, she wants everything or nothing.
Thirdly, what an amazing hero. He was a ruthless callous bastard, yes. But he recognised that fact, and it took him longer to redeem himself because he genuinely thought the heroine deserved someone better than him. It is excruciatingly painful fir a spouse who's still in love to watch the partner to move on, to go on dates during separation. And before you judge, it's up to you what you wanna call this, I am NOT going to call this cheating. They have separated. She's filing for divorce. She has told him about the date, and it was always going to be friendly and stay within moral boundaries. The hero felt jealous like a kid yet even after his initial jab, he has given in gracefully as he knew she deserves better (buddy no, she deserves better, yes, you need to be THAT better for fuck's sake, and no, don't offer to baby seat, take a fucking shotgun and get rid of the competition)!
Fourthly, the grovelling, he tried, my goodness, he tried. He wanted to give her everything he thought she had miss out and not make her hold on to the marriage. Instead he tried to start fresh and start with honesty.
Fifth point, I am a sucker for guys who can cry, I think it is immensely masculine and extraordinarily strong.
Finally, the kid! I mean not only we have a heroine with backbone but also a kid with backbone! Our one and a half year old super kid didn't only get irritated by the "big man" who happens to be her father and who was harassing her mother, she decides to take matters in her own hand and kick him! KICK HIM!
And that's how ladies and gentlemen I found my five star read!!!!!!

***4 Deliciously Angsty Stars***
Natasha Anders can definitely weave an angsty tale featuring a vulnerable, yet strong-willed heroine paired with a damaged asshole that somehow wins your heart.
Bronwyn and Bryce go through a heart breaking journey trying to understand and overcome the crumbled mess their lives have become. What began as a single confession, turned into a torturous night that would forever change their lives.
Months pass and now they are reunited and forced to pick up the pieces and unravel the truth behind, not only that night but their marriage as well.
I won't go into any specifics because the beautiful, and at times breathtakingly painful journey you go on as a reader, should be experienced first hand. How do two people find a way to clear up past transgressions, while blinded by their own notions and feelings of the events. Can love be found again?
And if so, will it be enough? Can you find a way to forgive?
Bryce's transformation is what romance books were made for. A man so blinded by his own self-loathing anger and stubborn pride, that he couldn't see past it. Yet slowly, in realizing his mistakes and admitting his vulnerability, he becomes the man that he was destined to be. A man worthy of the love of a good woman. A man worthy of a beautiful family. A man who late in life, can feel hope and unconditional love run through his veins.
It was through Bronwyn's steely determination to do the right thing and rebuild her life, that she was able to not only open Bryce's eyes, but hers as well.
Sometimes, you have to demolish it all in order to start again.

2. 5 stars - liked some parts, some parts disappointed me.
I saw that there were mixed reviews before ordering this book, so I adjusted my expectations downward accordingly. I really liked The Unwanted Wife, and I really wanted to like A Husband's Regret, but I found that it was too repetitious, relegated too many emotion-filled scenes to backstory, and there were too many plot moppet scenes.
There were also some plot logic problems that bothered me:
That being said, there were some lovely passages and I do think this marriage will work out. It's a nice story and I appreciate this author creating characters with moral compasses (that are just a bit confused and faulty sometimes). Her romance author's heart is in the right place and that cures a lot of ills in my book.

Between a three star and a four star for me. Anders ups her game from The Unwanted Wife (I'm still not too sure of Sandro) and the writing has improved. In The Unwanted Wife, the kudos go to the heroine in my opinion as when she is fed up with both husband and father she is done. Kind of done anyway. Here, the honors go to the hero.
Two years before the story starts the hero told the heroine to leave when she tells him she's pregnant. She does leave and long reaching chaos ensues. No doubt about it, the hero, his brother and some of his male friends are either completely hateful to indifferent to the heroine after her two year sojourn. This is given the fact they think the heroine coldly watched while the hero potentially died in a car accident that left him deaf it's understandable. Oddly enough the females don't have much problem. Theresa makes a brief appearance in her now all too perfect romance.
The hero is unrepentantly awful to the heroine now that she's back while surprisingly she gives back as good as she gets. Of course that doesn't stop them from succumbing to passion again and again. A little repetitive there but fine. She has her feisty little plot moppet along that the hero falls head over heels for.
Once the truth comes out, the hero is horrified. He still can't say "I love you", but his actions reek of apology and grovel. Eventually he can express his emotions and his real grovel comes out and it's a pretty big one.
Points off for the fact that he is a big-time millionaire with a security detail and investigators but was unable to find his wife and child for two years. There's more to story that's a little dubious, but the drama and angst is up there.

The author had the ability to make me feel – I mean REALLY FEEL – even though that feeling was empathy for Bron and hatred toward Bryce – the feelings were all encompassing.
Just as the author’s ability to make me hate Bryce….slowly she spun a web of doubts about that hatred and turned it into an understanding and then love for Bryce! Wow…my hats off to you Ms. Anders and your achievement of accomplishing the “switch-er-roo” *bravo

4.5/5 ⭐️ I loved this book but not as much as the first one. My heart still physically hurt for both Bronwyn and Bryce though. This was so angsty and it even made me shed a few tears.
Bryce is the type of hero that won’t be for everyone but I like assholes so I loved him 🤷🏻♀️. He was brutally cruel but one of my favorite scenes was when he blow-dried and brushed her hair with so much tenderness 🥺. It was so beautiful.
And also when Bronwyn found him watching their wedding video alone in his room. How he paused the video when it only showed her face 🥺😭. It was so sad but so cute.
I loved how regretful Bryce was after realizing that Bronwyn was not at fault and that he was the one in the wrong.
“His beautiful, fragile Bronwyn had nearly been snatched from him forever and the knowledge was eating him up alive.”
“I should have stayed away from you,” he repeated. “But I couldn’t. I can’t. You’re my light, Bronwyn. You’re my love. I’m so lost without you. I’ve always been so lost without you.”
“You’re so lovely that something as fundamental as breathing becomes damn near impossible around you.” 🥹
And I also loved their daughter Kayla. She was so adorable!
Overall, this was such a great read and I loved it so much. It was angsty, painful, but so damn good.

A husband's Regret is a swoony second chance romance. Bryce is doing her best in a romantic way to win his wife back. What trhowed me off is the plot. I understand Miss Anders is trying to make all the OTT drama so her reader hate Bryce. The swoon the said reader into a groveling act.
If only the plot is believable, the book would be great.
The writing is good as usual. It has been a while since I picked up Miss Anders's book. The banter is good. The charaters are lovely. It is just missing the plot.

More like 3.7 stars really.
I'll make this short.
I enjoyed the Husband's Regret. Probably more than I should since the trope used by the author is not my favorite trope in the world and very few authors can pull it off. Natasha Anders did a good job with it. It has all the right 'elements' so to speak. That and the groveling is really, really good. My only complaints about the whole plot was that the thing became too drawn out for my taste. Their initial conflict could have been resolved halfway through allowing for another conflict the second half as a test to their relationship but it didn't happen.
BUT STILL, the groveling is really, really good. And Bryce was so different from the man he was during the first half of the book compared to the second half of the book. And Kayla was just too darn adorable, she deserves a star in my ratings.
The angst wasn't quite as brutal as the Unwanted Wife but it figured well enough to satisfy any seasoned angst-junkie. And as I mentioned before, Bryce's transformation was wonderful to behold. I loved his growth the most. His insecurities and fear stemming from his was emotionally succinct.
Overall, quite a good read but not quite as good as the Unwanted Wife. But then that's just my humble opinion. This book deserves to read. So if you liked The Unwanted Wife, chances are, you will also enjoy this one.

The angst..... There was so much angst....
And I thought the angst in the first book was bad but this one takes the cake baby.
I just could not deal with all the drama in this book. But I gotta give props to he author, she really knows how to write a good alpha asshole.

Just like the last book I had major problems with the heroine. A bit of a pet peeve of mine is when the MC does nothing but a lot of crying. And this one really let the tears flow. In the end I just couldn't handle all the fucking crying, cause does there really need to be that much? It just made her come off as weak and I hate weak heroines. I like my girls strong, sarcastic, and able to handle their shit a lot better than this one. Not the author's fault. It's just how I roll. But don't get me wrong, I did feel bad for some of the shit she went through, but I just couldn't find it in me to like her. I didn't like him much either so it was crappy all around when it came to these characters.
The big misunderstanding was just too much. I mean, really?
I just couldn't get behind it. The crash, Bryce's reasoning behind his blow up about her pregnancy, the reasons he blamed her for what happened to him was all just a big; NOT FEELING IT for me.
I should have stopped after the first book considering I didn't really care for it either.
But after this I know I won't continue with the next book or probably with any of this authors other books. The writing just doesn't work for me. It happens to work for a lot of other people though so don't let my feelings guide you away from reading this book or any of the author's other's. It's just a case of: It's not you, it's me.

Este libro tiene el mismo formato que el anterior con un protagonista imbécil, pero éste si lo llevó a otro nivel y no tenía justificación.
Empieza con ella dándole la noticia que está embarazada y en lugar de alegrarse, porque sí están casado y se supone que se aman, se enoja muchísimo, le dice que como pudo hacerle eso y le dice que no la quiere ver y ella se va y no es hasta años después que la vuelve a encontrar y la vuelve a tratar horrible acusándola de haberle robado a su hija y culpándola de su condición.
Estaba indignada o sea como se atreve.
Pero al igual que el anterior quieres que al final lo perdone y yo quería seguir enojada.
La historia anterior me gustó más.

4 – 4.5 (So much tension!) Stars
Disclaimer
I’m a huge Natasha Anders’ fan. She’s one of the first authors I’ve come upon when I started to read romance avidly. She’s only written one book, so I am overjoyed she finally released a second book, even though it’s two years later. I decided to put this disclaimer down because of the low reviews I see.
The Unwanted series isn’t for everyone. First off the writing needs to be polished more, it’s not the smoothest writing and at times the transitions can be confusing. Also, the problems and tension can be fairly frustrating because it’s set by one problem. This doesn’t bother me. I just love reading her books.
Summary
Brownwyn and Bryce seemed to have the perfect marriage. Until the day Bronwyn became pregnant. Bryce became very upset with the news and Bronwyn went away. Two years later, their lives are merging again because of their child, but there are a lot of past issues to resolve.

I went into this book without knowing anything, but the title. The title is very fitting of the storyline, you know there’s some blame in there. That is why I love the Unwanted series so much.
You Love to Hate the Hero
Bryce is a mean you know what. He’s says nasty things that you would think that is unforgivable. The story opens will Bryce getting really angry with the pregnancy and it’s a very bad scene. No one wants to deal with a distraught husband and so you feel for Bronwyn.
Bronwyn is battered, single and now has to deal with her pregnancy and raising a child. The book fast forwards two years later where Bryce and Bronwyn meet up again and it’s drama and it’s oh so good!
Bryce says some hurtful things to Bronwyn and you will find out why. This adds so much good tension! Both parties are justified in their anger (in my opinion) and maybe one is more justified than the other, but you slowly start to understand both sides.
I really liked reading how Bryce and Bronwyn interact with the child. Both want to move forward for the sake of the child, but there’s just so much hurt to get through!
I loved the read. It was a start to finish in one sitting kind of book for me.

I hate to give negative reviews because every book is a labor for the author, his/her creature; but even if I dislike doing that I need to be honest to myself and to the ones who may spend time reading what I have to say.
I liked very much "The Unwanted Wife", the first book in the series, because it was kind of a novelty the heroine's behavior. Honestly I don't remember well the plot since I read it a long time ago but I keep a pleasant memory of the story.
I was looking forward to "A Husband's Regret" and was lucky to get an ARC through NetGalley.
Knowing it was a Natasha Sanders book I was set about reading, it gave me hope for something different from usual.
Well, let's say my hopes were unpleasantly expected.
It's sickly cheesy and boring. I had the feeling I was reading an Harlequin/Mills and Boon book full of all the clichés we can humanly possible know. All of them in just one package.
The heroine, Brownyn, is a martyr, all the tragedies in this world happened to her but she was so strong to keep moving on, fighting against all odds, humiliations and heart attacks thrown at her. She's accident prone, a misfortune magnet but she's the heroine, she'll always win over anything and in the process becoming the poor victim of the bad wolf hero. She hates him, loathes him....BUT... she can't help still loving him and this excuses her falling in bed with him as soon as a bed, a desk or whatever are around without wasting time. Her hate, pain and sufferings conveniently forgotten.
The same old predictable stuff. I was bored out of my mind, rolled my eyes so much they fell out their sockets. Was this what I was so eagerly waiting with anticipation? Absolutely not!
And I absolutely was not expecting to write negative things now!
And the hero? The reasons behind his actions? Nothing original of course.
I know I'm being too hard on the author but this is because I expected so much more than this heated up soup by her!

Fabulous read. I could not put it down. Though there were times that I just wanted to "kick" both of them, this was a very real and compelling story of lost love and second chances. My heart went out to them both.
Though, I enjoyed the first in the series, this is by far the better book. Don't get me wrong, I loved the The Unwanted Wife, but there were some slight "glitches" that you would expect from a first published book. This was perfection all the way.
What a fabulous author. You get all the delicious angst of an 80's HP along with well balanced characters that you can't help but love.
Though, I enjoyed the first in the series, this is by far the better book. Don't get me wrong, I loved the The Unwanted Wife, but there were some slight "glitches" that you would expect from a first published book. This was perfection all the way.
