ARC provided by HarperImpulse via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Right, first off, I have to say that when I saw the title of this book I was a tad worried that it might be along the lines of the 1970s "Confessions of a ....." but of course it wasn't. What it actually turned out to be was a fun, fairly short, read set in the Jetset Ski Resort Verbier.

The story starts, in a bar, as the FC, Flora, a chalet girl, celebrates her friend/co-worker's Hen night. She's not really in the moo
LOOK AT THAT COVER. Doesn't that totally scream "fun chicklit" to you? You are WRONG.

There is a lot going on. I liked it overall, even with the biggest insta-monster of them al (I think it was two days).

Oh, and sex. There was a lot of sex. I was planning to just read a few pages before going to sleep and before I knew it, I was 30% in, Flora was on all fours and they were going at it like whoa.

I liked it, though.

Since this is a novella (and a short one) I'm going to try to keep this short.
This is a lovely short romance story. The characters have enough depth and chemistry to keep this story believable.

I did find some parts confusing- like they talked about going somewhere in Christmas and all of sudden they were gone for Christmas. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the timing wasn't that clear, and even though the story take place at some skiing resort I didn't feel it that much either, I would hav

Flora is playing Truth or Dare at her bosses hen party. She however doesn't really want to take part in any of the dares, but as the new girl in Verbier, she does want to fit in. The dare she picks from the bag, is to kiss the sexiest man in the bar.

Flora, picks Zac, a guy she had already noticed at the bar, who is incredibly sexy. He doesn't object or seem too bothered about someone randomly going up to him and kissing him. There is instant chemistry between the pair.

Flora has recently come ou

When Lorraine Wilson emailed me to tell me Secrets of a Chalet Girl was up on NetGalley I headed straight over to request it and was so happy when it appeared in my approved list. After loving the first novella Confessions of a Chalet Girl I couldn't wait to read the sequel and it was a perfect gloomy-day read that I could snuggle up by a fire with. Secrets of a Chalet Girl was a quick, fast-paced read that I finished in an hour. It k

After enjoying the first novel, I instantly purchased the second for a mere £0.62. I was looking forward to another quick read that will just make me feel happy and get me into some romance books. Once I began reading it, I quickly became very disappointed in this book and got a completely different vibe than the first.

The good points of this book were the same as the first in the series and relate to the writing of the novel. After realizing this, I just simply put it down to liking the style o

After the success of Confessions of a Chalet Girl (read my thoughts on it here) , Lorraine Wilson has come back with another short book about love on the slopes.

This time we find Flora in Verbier alongside the wealthy playboys. From the start of the novella I wanted to know more about her, she seemed to be quietly confident and on a journey of self discovery. Flora has been betrayed before, but surely Verbier is the perfect place to meet an eligible batchelor?

Enter Zac, devilishly good looking

When I saw that Lorraine was releasing Rebellion of a Chalet Girl in March I decided I wanted to go back to the start and read the series from the beginning. I had read Confessions of a Chalet Girl in June last year but hadn’t read any of the other novellas in the series, so I went and bought them all.

This story is about Flora and Zac. Flora is in Verbier to try and move on from her failed relationship and has an instant connection with Zac after a game of “Truth or Dare” sends her over to him o

Secrets of a Chalet Girl by Lorraine Wilson

Jane Hunt Writer First Steps

'Secrets of a Chalet Girl' is a romantic love story full of angst and heat, sensitively written with likeable characters. Great to read on the bus to work but it may make you blush.

Alcohol fuelled truth or dare is a living nightmare for shy Flora the newest chalet girl. Emotionally shattered from her last relationship kissing a stranger is not what she needs. Unwilling to lose face or spoil the hen night Flora chooses sexy Zac and her world explodes.

From the cover of the book it looks like a fun light-hearted chicklit novel , one that reminds me of the movie Chalet Girl which is what I thought the book would be more about , however what happens is that it's a novel that starts off with a friend's bachelorette party and a dare to kiss the most attractive man in the pub. The girl on the cover is Flora - the main female lead , nervous and out of a bad relationship she lands her eyes on a guy attached to the hand with his cellphone. She walks u ...more

This is a straightforward and enjoyable read. I'm giving it a 5 star. You know when you start reading and it picks up your mood and interest and then let you down at the end, that is what annoys me. But on this one its the other way around. The beginning is so slow that I almost put it down , i dont like a heroine that seem confuse and weak aka Flora but she redeem herself towards the middle and the hero Zac is one of those you wanted to hate that you actually love him because at the start, he j ...more

I was so excited when I found out the next book in the chalet Girl series by Lorraine Wilson was available to download that I jumped straight into it.
We're back in Verbia for Holly and Scott's (book 1) wedding. We meet new chalet girl Flora who's out trying to forget her dark past and make a new life for herself.

OK, so I'm a bit unsure if I liked Secrets of a chalet girl or not. I'm going to have to read it again and see. It seemed to jump ahead a few times which made it feel rushed. I liked t

As soon as Flora was introduced I instantly wanted to know more about her as she really did intruige me. After finding out that she was dealt with not a very good hand when it came to relationships, you can't help but feel something for her. Flora is on a journey to self discover, which you can't really blame her for.

After a night out with a few friends , they seem well on intent in setting up flora with a guy to help her move forward, but the one guy that she does take an interest in completely

Another season back at Verbier, and we meet another chalet girl with an interesting history to read about.

Flora is quiet, and shy, and finally trying to live life the way she wants to do it, after finding the strength to call off her wedding to her controlling ex when he stepped too far. On a wild hen night for her boss, she ends up having to be braver than she thought she could and kiss the sexiest man in the room. Enter Zac, Mr Hottie, who actually ends up teaching Flora to be stringer than s

Short romance story, too short for a novella.

Flora is working in a ski resort in Verbier when at a hen party, she has to play truth or dare. A few cocktails later she has to kiss the sexiest man in the bar. She's single, after breaking off a damaging relationship with a control freak. Luckily the man she kisses is also single, and a snowboarder, and he's interested in Flora. They return to his chalet and play an erotic game of truth or dare.

There's more to the story, Flora's doubts about herse

Flora is celebrating her friend and fellow chalet girl's Hen night in a bar at the resort. Flora's not really in the mood for partying, as she thinks over her past, but she does spot a rather hot guy checking his blackberry repeatedly. Which is handy really because as the night continues the girls play Truth or Dare, and when Flora pulls out a Dare card telling her to kiss the sexiest man in the room she has her target ready. But the kiss turns out to be a lot more than just a kiss....

The start of this novella is brilliant. I loved how Flora was forced out of her comfort zone by her well meaning friends, with explosive results.

It’s certainly heavy on the steam as Zac gently persuades Flora to let down her guard and let him in. She’s had a tough time of late and some serious emotional damage has been done but, as she soon discovers, Zac needs Flora just as much as she needs him. For such a short story, Lorraine Wilson handles some pretty serious issues with impressive finesse

In Secrets of a Chalet Girl by Lorraine Wilson, while Floramay seem quietly confident she is in Verbier on a journey of self-discovery. She has been betrayed, but surely in Verbier she will be able to find an eligible bachelor.

We begin with Flora in a bar celebrating her friend and co-worker’s Hen night. Flora is not really in the mood to be out celebrating at all, especially among the crowd of skiers. Only there is a rather gorgeous male all by himself checking his cell phone time and again, lo

Wilson can masterfully do what few authors can and that is construct a novella that pulls you in fully and play with your emotions to the point you are exhausted. A top rate novella
