Jax has fallen in love with Nikki, the complicated ex-stripper with a tragic past. But he hasn’t told her everything, and with the clock ticking he has only thirty days to convince her that he is everything she needs.
Will Nikki accept Jax for who he really is, and leave everything behind in order to join his pack? There’s a sinister force at work, a killer on the loose, and the most unlikely couple falling in love despite everything that stands against them. Can they make it through the darkness ahead?
Don't understand why Adriana Hunter made this story into two books.
I came to read this second part of the story, mainly because I was curious as to who or what the wolfy thing in the first book was, and I wasn't dissapointed with it! I don't want to give away any spoilers, all I'll say is I really liked the story of 'the thing'.
I loved the epilogue. I think it was a breath of fresh air as it's not a tipical ending.
The reason why I'm not rating this story with 3 stars is because there were some parts I found a bit too much.
Dreams never thought of becoming true Part 2 and a very well done story. Finding out who and what the bad guy. Brothers coning together for the betterment of the pack. Well written and entertaining story. With extra twists, finding out you don’t always really know the ones closest to you. And dreams you never dared to have come true. Another great job by the author.
Book 2 was just as riveting! Jax and Nikki get their happy ending after Jax saves Nikki and she decides to be with him in every way and embraces who Jax and his way of life. I loved the way Jax love Nikki
I would recommend this series. Well worth the time and money.
Mmmmm.....With Claiming the Alpha the story continues!! Jax and Nikki have the heat and steamy appeal to keep you turning the pages! BBW's everywhere should have Nikki's confidence!! Jax is steamy and strong- coming into his own as an alpha and making sure Nikki is safe and secure in his arms.
Entretenido y sencillo de leer pero no fue nada del otro mundo, toda la historia se desarrolla tan rapido que no logra tener profundidad. Me gusto un poco mas el libro anterior.
That Jax and Nikki fell in love with each other. Nikki best friend keep telling her lies about Jax. Nikki ended up working for Ryan who is nothing but trouble and Jax has to find her and safe her from the bad werewolf that is killing everyone.
Claiming the Alpha by Adriana Hunter was the second part of the short series ‘Wild Obsessions’. When I say short I am being literal. Both parts are around 80 pages each and looking back at them now they should have been one book. There wasn’t enough action in each to make them look accomplished apart.
As my first attempt at romance/erotica I am rather happy with my choice. There were some good moments that help me gain new perspective as ti how to write romantic/sex scenes and as a writer I am really curious about that. The book was in both Nikki and Jax’ point of view which was an excellent choice since if Adriana Hunter had stuck to one it wouldn’t have worked out.
The second part picks up where the first stopped, Jax and his pack are still looking for the creature that killed those people at the club and attacked Nikki and Lori. Jax manage to find his father’s old journal which reveals who and what the creature may be and they all try to track it. Meanwhile, Nikki is stuck to yet another horrible job with disgusting boss.
The good parts for me were the moments where Nikki and Jax were alone. Those were sweet and passionate, just in a spirit of a romance story. We also managed to see Jax taking charge finally and acting like an Alpha more even though he is still miles away from a dominant, determined and formidable wolf leader(sue me, I like my make characters like that 😀 ).
Better than the first, but it feels like there's a few chapters missing between the two, flashbacks glossed over, like maybe the author had the details, but never put them into writing. Not enough to hurt the telling, but leaving me the reader with a sense that there should be more.
So, I bought this book because when I finished Taming the Alpha, I had to know what the creature was. I had to. And I'm one of those people who doesn't pay for books of Kindle, but I was like, y'know what, the first book was so good, I'll break my rule and spend the $3 and it'll be dandy.
This book took me 29 minutes to read.
Let me repeat: 29 minutes.
That includes checking Tumblr 5 times, I might add. Angry and cheated is an understatement. I understand I read at a ridiculous pace (I average 60 pages an hour unless we're talking, like, classics or textbooks), but that's still... That's not cool.
Apart from the shortness, the book was OK. It was an easy read, obviously. The writing flows well and the plot was strong.
Spoiler opinion: the final kill should have been slowed down. The whole ending should have been emphasized. There wasn't even a line about how Jax killing Arden counts as his first kill, there was no clarification that Jax had finally earned the respect of the pack or his brother, and Nikki's decision to change could have been better foreshadowed. There's also this gaping open loop-hole with Ryan and Lori that doesn't make any sense.
Half of the issues in this book were not properly addressed in the ending and I got the feeling the author was simply tired of writing the story and threw a quick ending together in one or two days and stuck a price tag on it.
I started to read the book and right away I was confused, it started with him thinking how she hasn't run after knowing he's a werewolf. I was like What? when did you tell her? Did I miss something? I literally went back to the first book to see if I forgot to read something, I didn't.
Then they started talking about something that happened in her apartment and her new job and I was again confused. I went to amazon because I was sure I was missing a book and it was possible because they are so short I thought that's what happened. No, they are just two books and they were just talking about stuff I haven't read about. The whole thing with the creature was anticlaimactic and their relationship was fast and didn't make sense. Thay looked more like sex buddies than boyfriend/girlfriend/mates.
Jax has revealed who he is to Nikki and she's still there with him. Now as they become closer they also have to figure out what the wolf like creature really is and why it is killing. Nikki is learning more and more about Jaxs' world and she fights to figure out her feeling for him while strugling to come to terms with her new employer and her suffering friendship with Lori.
Loved this short Novella series and seeing all the different aspects brought together to make this feel like it was longer than it really was. Seeing Nikki learn to overcome her past and Jax growing and figuring out how to be the Alpha he was ment to be. I enjoyed the changing POV's because it allowed you to see how each person was feeling. Great Novella series.
I'm going to go with my review on the previous book (in this series)
This book was: very enjoyable. It wasn't exactly how I wanted it to be, thus only three stars (and it was a bit, okay very short). The plot was: alright. Not what I had expected (in a bad kind of way). The beginning was: okay. The middle was: good. The crescendo was: good. The finish/ending was: great. The characters were: alright. The worldbuilding was: good. The language was: well used. The themes represented in the book were: nothing extraordinary. Would I recommend this book? Yes/no? Why/why not? Depends on whom I'm recommending it to.
Another fab book cover! This is the concluding part of Nikki & Jax's story...very short(not sure why it wasn't added to the first book as a complete story??) but it was high drama! There is a HEA, but would've loved more of the story of their relationship, coping, accepting and embracing the changes!
This is the second book and I enjoyed it. It starts off where the first book ended. This story was interesting and enjoyable. I highly recommend reading the first book.
Kept your attention through out the book. Though I thought it went a tiny bit bland on some details through out. I would love to see more books on the entire pack and hope there will beat least a third book.
