This book is a top favorite of mine. I loved the power and vulnerability that came with Vice President Stone, and the steadfastness of the head of her protection detail Jonathan. They both resist each other for professional and personal reasons, which make so much sense but ultimately don't matter in the end. The constant danger and survival tactics they face kept me on edge right along with them. I loved how real the characters were, with sudden emotional mood swings and doubts plaguing them ...more

The plot was pretty good, and the main character was very likable, but the underlying romance element was ridiculously repetitive. The author did not need to dedicate half the book to telling us over and over again that the main character is afraid to love again. We get it.
