I thought that this book was a good read and it is very well written. However, I gave it 3 stars because the characters in the story are just too loose. Yes they were successful but just to willing to open the treasure box for whoever crossed their paths. Didn’t like that. And there was way too much hardcore sex. Some much so that I began skipping over the sex scenes.

Very seldom will you find a person who doesn't have at least one secret. Most will tell only their very closest friend their deepest, darkest secret and that person will have to take it to their grave with them. They can't even tell their spouse! Some secrets are so dark that they can even tell another living soul they just have to keep it to themselves, then how do they deal?

Camille, Lynesha, Raylin, Kerri, Chloe and Shelby are six best friend who do EVERYTHING together! They all have families, either husbands or are in relationships and take care of home. Though these successful women are strong and loving, they also love to have fun and are highly sexual. This combination in itself makes for an exciting situation on many occasions. They love their husbands/lovers and are well taken care of but when Dem Damn Divas go out to play, the streets better watch out! There is nothing that can stop them from making sure that home is taken care of but at the same time you can't stop them from making sure that they are well taken care of too! Sometimes fun is fun until it's not anymore then it is just dangerous.

A Secret Worth Keeping is a very racy story and not for the light-hearted. It will have you fanning yourself at times but you won't have a problem following the storyline at all. The characters are you and your best friends because they are your ride or die girls and you can see that in their interaction with each other. You will enjoy the sisterhood that they share and the way that the story keeps you entertained. This is the freshman novel for Johnson but I do look forward to reading more from her in the future. Great start to your writing career!

Shelby is a career woman turned housewife , who along with her five best friends; Camille, Lynesha, Raylin, Kerri and Chloe. They are all career women with different careers, husbands and children but each has something that is missing. Each is searching for that something in all the wrong places. These Divas are enjoying the thrills of sneaking and creeping, but at what cost.

Once I started reading I couldn't put the book down.

The characters were very well developed. Each character , you will feel each personality.
The characters draw you into their situations.

The storyline will capture you from the beginning of the story to the end.

The author did an excellent job with the storyline for her first novel.
I highly recommend that you add this book to your list of books to read this year.
I am sure you will enjoy this book as much as I did.
Thank you to the author for an excellent story, I look forward to reading more from you.

Bag girls

This group of friends were something else . I read all genres of books and this one us explicit but thought provoking. These educated woman have power and think they have control but they don't. The ones who are hurting by neglectful husbands who are cheating rationalize their misbehavior because of their spouses actions. It appears they'll are ruining their marriages and perhaps friendsHips because they won't deal with their issues. Sex drugs and alcohol is not a cure for troubled marriages and insecurity. Pakistan is to be applauded to write what so many live as a reality.

This book is about too many women, keeping too many dumb, horny secrets.
Too many characters to follow. Too many superficial secrets. Too many situations that didn't make sense. If you like your burgers with no seasoning, read this for entertainment, but as an avid reader I am past the plot of thousands of women randomly sleeping around with every Tom, Dick and Harry. I am past books with ridiculous typos! I am past nonsense. I will say if you're trying to get in the 'mood', every other page may get your juices flowing if the words are spelled right :insert side eye emoji:

Bottom line, I wouldn't recommend.

Shhhh...Don't Tell

Lakisha Johnson's “A Secret Worth Keeping” tells the story of five best friends with different careers, husbands, and children. But something is missing in each woman's life. Each woman has her own little secret that will throw readers for a loop.

I really like this book because it was a page turner. I couldn't wait to read more. What worked for me, it was well written and kept my attention through the entire book. I enjoyed reading it. I can't wait until part two.

This was a good book. It was one I felt could have been better if it didn't jump around so much. Sometimes I was confused on which character I was reading about. Towards the end when all the secrets were being revealed that is really when it got good. I would read the next book to see what happened to the characters.

Oooh wee

Ok so I'm glad I read this book ,I was confused at first because I didn't read this book and started with the deleted scenes. Now that I backtracked I can say that this was a great story, I would say that the end of the book is where the magic start when the secrets are being revealed. I have to move on to book 2 to find out what happens next.

We enjoyed having Lakisha attend our book club meeting giving us an inside perspective on the book and characters; however, overall we thought the book was just OK. The plot did not grab us from the beginning and we felt the book was lacking in substance.
