This book had me captivated from the moment I opened it. I loved how this story touched on 3 women's lives from different backgrounds and brought them together as friends and as pawns in a game of life and death.
I was surprised at how fast I got caught up in the story and was rooting for the girls to find the perfect "Sugar Daddy". I loved how each character either grew emotionally or failed to hold on and "sank".
This story is about 3 girls -
Maire is the seasoned sugar baby who is already set up and trying to make a go with a new company in which she sets up women with expecting sugar daddies.
Esme is beautiful and is looking for a rich man in order to finance her boyfriend's bar back home. She is to find an old man and send back money but instead she hooks a good looking rich man who at first she is in her glory but then she grows tired of him and the life. During this Esme learns that she isn't the redneck trailer park hick she always thought she was.
Nikki is in town to finish up her schooling in order to become a teacher. She doesn't have the money to fund her living arrangements so she tries to find another way to make it all work.
One of the girls ends up missing or possibly dead but then an entry from a diary is found from a Sugar Daddy stating that there were 3 girls - one he broke, one is dead and the other he married.

I was scratching my head the whole time trying to figure out who this Sugar Daddy was and who was going to break and who was going to end up his wife.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat and moved very quickly during the last 30% of it...and boy was I surprised how it all ended!!

WOW! Let me begin by a quote at the very end of Mickey Corrigan's full length novel:
"I know my wife. She will read this manuscript at once, pouring over it as you have. She will complete it in one sitting. Like you, she will not be able to put it down. "
This quote sums up my exact experience with Sugar Babies! An intensely dramatic, and sizzling story about three girls with dreams and the men who help make them into who they become!
Wow! I could not put it down, I would have read it in one sitting if I wasn't interrupted by family arriving and I literally poured over the whole story, my curiosity begging for more as I turned each page.
A fantastic opening captures me immediately. Someone is writing the story... we dont know who yet but it's his story of three girls who come into his life, one who's spirit he breaks, one who's neck he breaks and one who he marries.
In a month by month account we meet the three girls, Marie, Niki and Esme. Three girls playing the game... being Sugar Babies to their Sugar Daddies. Professional Girlfriends to the old, rich and famous. Marie is the brain child and runs a website which caters to the Sugar Daddies needs, she runs mixers with the babies and daddies... dreaming of earning a living from the memberships. Niki and Esme and have dreams too. They need the $$$ to make their dreams come true and being a professional girlfriend does just that.
Of course anything that's too good to be true usually is and slowly the dreams start to unravel, one girl goes missing early in the piece, a multitude of suspects are around but perhaps she's just run away, unable to cope with the life of a professional girlfriend and all it brings. One is drinking much to heavily and has her dream almost in the grasp of her hands before she puts two and three together to make five. One is stuck with her Sugar Daddy as well as her boyfriend back home who she's earning all her $$$ for but then there's the complication of falling in love with someone who may possibly have something (but surely not) to do with her friends disappearance.
As things are slowly falling apart and the gold of Coconut Island is becoming quite tarnished before I knew it I reached the thrilling conclusion which neatly wrapped up all loose ends. All I can say is WOW what a ride!
Sugar Babies is full of Mickey Corrigan's trademark Sas and in your face language and thrilling descriptions which leaves most scenes up to your imagination which I thought totally added to this story because you're only limited by your imagination and boy did mine run wild with a thrilling, fast paced, risky and dangerous lives Marie, Niki and Esme were living. I was taken back to the good old days of stories I read in wide-eyed teenage wonder by the likes of Jackie Collins and Shirley Conran.
I give this 5 stars because I literally couldn't put it down, I was dying to get back to it while I was out with the family and because it was a very good read, especially as it's the first full length novel of Mickey's that I've read. I was left satisfied by the surprising conclusion, as well as a bit sad. But the point is it made me feel something and that gets a star from me :)

OMG!! what a book! Sucked me right in from the first page and never let me go! This is my second book by Mickey and let me tell you, this one blew me away! I had no idea where Mickey was going with this story. I knew it was about three women who were professional girlfriends but that was about it. Maire starts a company called Arranged Relations for women who are having trouble financially meeting their needs. They get to become professional girlfriends to the rich, famous, and older men. Maire Niki and Esme are looking for their sugar daddies. Someone to pay them for their time, someone to pay their rent, pay for their clothes, basically someone who is willing to pay for their needs. The men get what they want and the girls get what they need.
I had no idea who the sugar daddy was in question. I didn't figure it out until Mickey told me near the end of the book! Holy cow! This book had me running through every emotion while reading it! A great story filled with mystery and suspense, but no happy endng! Read it, you won't be sorry!! Five stars all the way!!

A wonderful author writing about 3 women who are trying to make a better life. The way they try might not be the way to achieve it but then it would be no fun to read a story that starts out with a goal accomplished. Kind of mystery and a page turner and of course it will keep you involved till the end. Niki, Maire and Esme will really keep you entertained. Enjoy

I seriously didn't know what I was getting myself into when I joined this tour. I just signed up and waited for the author to give me a copy of the book, without reading the synopsis. Before actually reading the book, I read the synopsis. I was seriously shocked; the plot is way out of my comfort zone. I was stunned that someone would actually write something about sugar daddies, mommies & babies. Given the plot, I was a bit reluctant to read the story and just wanted to back out from the tour. However, I thought, "What the heck. I should just try and give it a chance, maybe it's good. Also, I signed up for this so I need to see this through." I'm actually quite contented that I pushed through with this book.
To tell you the truth, the journey with this book was quite nice. It's a whole new perspective. You may think that this contains a lot of disturbing scenes, which is what I thought at first, but it doesn't. Ya, they sleep with old people but that's their preference not mine. I just try to imagine it as bearable as it could be. Also, you'll get used to the idea. Furthermore, I was actually expecting to read graphic sex scenes but seriously this book doesn't really contain much. You'll only get bits of words here and there about the topic but no graphic ones. Well, you'll expect a lot of curses, though, which is totally fine with me.
You might wonder what could the author write about the sugar world. The author opened up different problems of society right now, which I think is the main point of the book. The hardships in life. The lack of equality in the world. The continuous striving that will get you no where. The sacrifices you make for a better life. To tell you the truth, I sort of got depressed while I was reading this book because it will really let you reflect on the things that you think is important right now but isn't. It somehow opens up your eyes to the things you try to ignore.
On the other hand, if realizations don't get you to start reading this book, the book contains a mystery that you'll surely wanna follow and find out. I'm not going to reveal the mystery because it would ruin the whole book for you. While I was reading this, I was so curious about the letter that I just want to finish it to know the mystery behind the whole book. I didn't really expect to be captivated by the story. All the loose ends were answered or solved in the end, leaving you quite contented.
This is an unexpected good read. Don't let the plot cloud your chances of reading this. It's entertaining, exciting, reflective, & refreshing. Just remember to keep an open mind. Also, I want to thank the author for giving me a copy of this book.

We all know is life is hard, and yes sometimes you need to do what you would never do under normal circumstances but when you have no choice and it comes down to survival you close your eyes and get going.
But some people don't care what they do at all, they would do anything and everything to get what they want. In this read from Mickey J.Corrigan she explores the side of woman who are pretty desperate and dead set on getting the fancy cars, jewels and shopping sessions they crave so yes, not really anything to do with surviving but more of a situation of not wanting to work for it, or rather not doing the most honourable job in the world or the most ladylike for that matter.
Their solution is shocking and scandalous but also in today's modern times very true, they become sugar babies and grab themselves a sugar daddy!
Now I will be the first to agree with you that from the above I would not really want to read this book, but I have learned that no book is to be judged by it's cover or in this case by it's blurb.
The author touched on some very realistic aspects of the woman of the modern world and just how far some will go to get what they want and along the way even find time to hit all the notes us normal woman hit, like hurt, despair, sadness and also happiness without begging, showing these woman as only human and looking to find the slot they are meant to be slotted into.
Because the read had more than one main character am not going to go into much detail on each one, I will only say that from the truly brilliantly fascinating Maire to the very highly intriguing Esme and very dark Niki they each had their own set of rules and took this read from 'So out of my league 'sounding to "Wow now ain't that the truth" and all though I cringed for some parts it was not all bad language and extravagant sex scenes as you may think.
It was actually pretty classy and nicely depicted by the author and best of all she dug into the real life aspects of what sugar babies have to face when wanting to find their own happiness. It also included a fascinating little mystery just adding to the real life feeling of this read, and I for one could not stop reading to find out if the mystery would be solved or if I would be left wondering, lucky for me the author did not leave me in suspense and wrapped up the lives of these woman and the mystery very neatly.
I recommend this read for anyone looking for something new and fresh with a realistic look into the comings and goings of the sugar daddy meets sugar babies of the world.

Every once in a while, we need a reminder that not all stories in books have happy endings; Sugar Babies is such a reminder. It's intriguing, captivating and beautifully grim. It kept me on my toes and made me read non-stop until I reached the very last page.
The beginning of the book was really intriguing. It easily got me hooked and interested from the onset. It also helps that the intro of the book has a sort of mystery-suspense vibe to it. In no time at all, I was sucked into the lives of three very beautiful women.
The story-line is surprisingly edgy despite the fact that the world portrayed in this book is supposed to be all about beauty, wealth and glamour. I also really liked the slow build-up of the lives of the three ladies in the story. At every turn, I was kept in the dark as to the identity of the person who wrote the note at the beginning of the story. I kept guessing and I kept missing! Despite being a little frustrated at not being able to correctly guess the identity of the mystery person in the story, I actually had fun guessing. This is one of the strengths of this story: it keeps the reader guessing, and each twist was designed to confuse and lead the reader into a rabbit-hole with false leads.
As for the characters, I really felt sad for the women whose lives are narrated in this story. They world they live in is fascinating because they're practically being given everything they want by the men who keep them, but at the same time, it's sad because they seem to feel like they have no other choice but to use their beauty and bodies to survive. I also appreciate that each woman was distinctly fleshed out that it's not confusing to read about all three of them. What's interesting is the common denominator of the three women: superficiality. Many times during the course of reading this story, I thought of alternatives as to what they could do to survive. Surely, there must be some other way to earn money without being a sugar baby. But then again, the women in the story were somehow a little naive, and the big bad world simply wasn't so good to them.
All in all, Sugar Babies is a highly engrossing read with an intriguing start and an equally satisfying finish!

Despite being a little frustrated at not being able to correctly guess the identity of the mystery person in the story, I actually had fun guessing. This is one of the strengths of this story: it keeps the reader guessing, and each twist was designed to confuse and lead the reader into a rabbit-hole with false leads.
As for the characters, I really felt sad for the women whose lives are narrated in this story. They world they live in is fascinating because they're practically being given everything they want by the men who keep them, but at the same time, it's sad because they seem to feel like they have no other choice but to use their beauty and bodies to survive. I also appreciate that each woman was distinctly fleshed out that it's not confusing to read about all three of them. What's interesting is the common denominator of the three women: superficiality. Many times during the course of reading this story, I thought of alternatives as to what they could do to survive. Surely, there must be some other way to earn money without being a sugar baby. But then again, the women in the story were somehow a little naive, and the big bad world simply wasn't so good to them.
All in all, Sugar Babies is a highly engrossing read with an intriguing start and an equally satisfying finish!

It's been a while since I've read a story that is not a romance or non-fiction...and this book transported me back to those edge-of-your-seat reads I dug into in the past, especially the ones from the likes of Sidney Sheldon. There was a definite Sheldon vibe to this tale - in the 'naked' portrayal of these characters, in the desperation interlaced into their characterization, in the spiral-downward trend they all took.... Would redemption be waiting down that slide? How would they each end up? Happy ending? Sad ending? Tragic ending? Especially when you bear in kind the very opening paragraphs of this book, there the sugar daddy tells you that he's been involved in all three women's lives - one spirit he broke, one's neck he broke, and the other one he married....
Who is he? That is the question that had me turning the pages throughout this book. I really, really hoped the author would not let me down by not wrapping it all up or stringing us along with a mystery (especially when it looked like no one was going to get married!), but then you reach close to the end....and suddenly you wonder how you did not see all this coming! It's a facepalm moment, because it all falls into place.
That being said, some things did annoy me in this story. The level of repetition, for one (the woman whose POV we're in says something, then 2-3 lines down, she says the same thing again in slightly different wording, then next page you get the same message again). And whenever the focus was on Niki, the read kinda dragged. Yes, this might've been necessary to 'explain' all that going on with Niki, but some points did feel tedious to slug through, and it is only the need to explain the mystery of THE sugar daddy's identity that kept me reading.
But all in all, this was an engrossing read, especially with the feel of these "lifestyle in all its glory and darkness" aspects that made Sidney Sheldon's books such page turners. There's an aura of sinister throughout this read that remains just on the edges, a darkness that is threatening to encroach, all while there is a brilliant expose about the condition of women and feminism in today's world that is 'explained' throughout the lives, motives, and plights of these sugar babies.

This book tells the story of three women, all struggling with finances and wanting to better their lives. So they try to find Sugar Daddy’s. They are willing to have sex in exchange for what they perceive as the good life. And this is where the name Sugar Babies comes from.
We have Esme Grant, abused by the man she loves but willing to sell herself to make enough money so they can buy their dream bar. Stunningly beautiful, one wonders why she puts up with her her so called boyfriend.
Maire O’Rourke is the one who came up with the name of her service called Arranged Relations. With a Sugar Daddy old enough to be her Grandfather she is getting the funding and advice she needs to start her business.
And finally we have Niki Stephanopoulos. A student with a scholarship, but it does not cover the rent. Niki feels like a failure when she is forced to ask her parents for help. So Arranged Relations just might be the answer to her problems.
I struggled a little with the way the book was first laid out. But as you read along you will understand why the author did this. I have to admit Mickey did a great job with the guessing behind this. I was convinced that the man was the first one I choose, but I have to admit I started having doubts as the book went along. And I changed my mind two times before going back to my original suspect. And I totally loved how the book ended. Well done Mickey!

Sugar Babies is a great read for all those who love a good story with lots of drama and angst. The cover fits the description of the book to a T. This is a unique story about three girls who want a better life than they have and are willing to do whatever it takes to get that money and life style. I personally know a few sugar babies and I have to say the book got it right about their life style and their behaviors. So much so I found myself cracking up like a hyena.
We get to meet three girls who want the same thing out of life. They want things and they want to be taken care of by someone else. Marie, Niki, and Esme. Marie is the brains of the operations because she starts a website that caters to sugar daddies matching them with sugar babies. She has her own sugar daddy who takes good care of her and she wants for nothing so she starts this website to help out other sugar babies.
Niki is looking for someone to fund her and her boyfriend because they had these dreams but they have no money so she thinks if she has a sugar daddy she can have her cake and eat it to but what she discovers is so much more.
Esme is something else she is spoiled and wants everything no matter how she gets it just as long as she gets it. She is willing to do whatever it takes to have the life she wants.
In the end this is a story about three womens struggles to get what they want and what they are will to sacrifice.

Sugar Babies by Mickey J. Corrigan was a super exciting book. I loved that it gave me a small look into what being a sugar baby might be like. This book was a super easy read, and I was able to read in over a couple of days, and it left me wanting more. I felt like the characters were all real people and I love when that happens. I have read one other book by this author, and if you want to check out that review, you can click right here. So far I have liked both of the books that I have read by her, and I can’t wait to read another by her in the future. If you are looking for a different type of book to read I would for sure recommend this one to you because I am sure you will love it just as much as I did.

I read this book thinking it was going to be a romance/mystery and it was, somewhat. The first page grabbed my attention and when I started reading it I just couldn't put it down.

I took on this book because I am one that likes to shake up my reading world. I get bored or in funks and I like to step out of comfort zone. I am not going to lie I was scared when I first started the book thinking what the hell have I agreed to. But I have to say I am glad I read it. This is a true glimpse into the Sugar world. We get four stories in this book, four stories that all weave so delicately together.
“It’s an American story, a too-common tale, the dark truth about how life, big bad life, does not always turn out as a young woman expects, nor how she wishes.”
Hmmmm we all know that story, the author took on this story. We were shown the truths, the way some view women. The way college students really have it, how appealing that high rise condo really is and it shows what some are really willing to do to reach that better life. It was a sad truth that even left me saying, “I can see that, I understand.” It makes you think what is important, where are your values.
“These are girls who lost their way and, like Gretel with a jones for gingerbread, other people’s gingerbread, they ate up the sugar life here in Coconut City.”
This book is a mystery and it gives you clues along the way and leaves you wondering who did what. It is honestly like a huge game of clue. So I don’t want to reveal too much because you need to build these relationships up with these three girls and their sugar life. You need to learn their stories and while learning you need to meet the sugar daddy, the one who held all the cards and the answers. His letter through out this book is what keeps you attached. It keeps you turning the pages and gathering information. You know it is wrong, you know this is an unacceptable life choice but you can’t help but feel intrigued by it.
“Everyone craves attention, but nobody wants to give it.”
To tell you the truth, the journey I took with this book left me saying did I really just read that and what do I feel? I am a woman so I know the need for attention, I actually could understand the feelings these girls had. But this gave me a new perspective. There were no graphic sex scenes, yes these are older men but you learn to look at them as they are. I think it helps that the author doesn’t go into detail regarding bedroom activity and you just learn the personality of the sugar daddy and these girls.
“Esme, Marie, and Niki. Three bright women. Smart, but not smart enough to know better. Women of little substance with F***able bodies, plucky personalities and laughable ambitions.”
This is an unexpected good read. Please don’t be turned off by the topic or the title. This is a book that will entertain, intrigue and leave you complete without questions and maybe a new outlook.

“You really can't go home again, not if the place ate you alive”
Let me just start by saying that this is a great little novella.
Set in what I see as a southern Florida type of town, the story follows Maire, Esme and Niki in their search for a sugar daddy. Each has different motivation for their quest for a seemingly easy bank roll. Student loans, trying to make another man happy and fund his dreams, finding a means to start a new life. Whatever the reason, it surely is not as great as it seems. Most of these men are significantly older than the women they are seeking. Often they have some sick fetish they are requiring to be met. Any way you slice it it’s prostitution. And that is a dangerous world to be in.
I felt sympathy for these women. Their desperation and need for a large amount of quick cash led them to their current situation. It all looks glamorous from the outside. Nice car, rent paid, shopping sprees, you name it. It is at their disposal. But at what price? No woman wakes up one day and says, gee I’d really like to have sex with a man three times my age just so I can pay my bills. It’s also not hard to imagine how they ended up in their position either. Big dreams and a small bank account or lack of resources could easily lead anyone to this position. Shame and fear of judgment, not wanting to ask friends or family for help. All of these things are a dangerous combination.
This story was sexy, but also with a deadly mystery involved. These men are accustomed to getting their way, and do not like being told no. There is nothing their money cannot buy or buy their way out of. These women are disposable, they could be any girl. I found them all endearing and empathized with their desperation. I also loved the mystery that was woven into the story. Who is the bad guy? Who is the liar, the manipulator? I greedily devoured this book as I had to know the fate of these women and who was ultimately pulling the string.
Great story for a day at the beach or poolside with a fruity drink.

When I read the blurb sent to me several months ago, I was excited to read this book. It sounded like it had a lot going for it. I can normally read a book like this in under a week, sometimes a single day depending on how long I can spend reading each setting. This one took much longer.
The author has a great style of writing. It is concise without loosing descriptiveness. The dialog is realistic and characters are fairly well fleshed out.
I did not like the story it's self. This book is about three professional girlfriends. These women make "mutually beneficial arrangements" with wealthy, and often older, men of money. They get paid to be at the beck and call of these men, most often for sex.
I detest the idea of anyone depending on the whims of another for their lively hood. I also disliked that the author took the most interesting character and sent her out the door fairly soon into the book.
I also feel that the premise of this book being a manuscript written by one of the sugar daddies just didn't work too well. First of all, except for a few places, this book was entirely from the perspective of the girls. Doesn't make much sense to me when he's supposedly the writer of this manuscript we are supposed to read in one setting..
The writer has great potential, I believe. That was the sole saving grace for this reviewer. I enjoyed the author's ability to describe without rambling and to get to the point without it feeling too abrupt.

Maire is Ted’s sugar baby has been for a long time. He is in his seventies but virile and smart and not bad looking. He has helped her live the lifestyle she likes and start her own business: arrangedrelations.com. This is a website that sets up rich men with professional girlfriends. They make mutual arrangements.
Esme is gorgeous and every man wants her she meets Jay at a mixer and he hires her.
Niki is an aspiring artist that falls in love with her landlord and becomes stalkerish to him.
This is a very detailed and twisty story. The suspense and mystery is intriguing. The way it’s written keeps a lot of who is being spoken about from the girls as he and secretive. It makes you keep wanting to know who he is. The mystery keeps twisting and just when you think you have it figured out, bam! There comes another twist. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more. Each character has their own secrets adding to the story. The ending was quite a shock.

Niki is an aspiring artist that falls in love with her landlord and becomes stalkerish to him.
This is a very detailed and twisty story. The suspense and mystery is intriguing. The way it’s written keeps a lot of who is being spoken about from the girls as he and secretive. It makes you keep wanting to know who he is. The mystery keeps twisting and just when you think you have it figured out, bam! There comes another twist. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more. Each character has their own secrets adding to the story. The ending was quite a shock.

Sometimes all we need is something different. Sugar Babies is one of them. The book commences with a mysterious note which is incomplete. Then the story commences about the 3 characters of the book starting with an account for each one’s hard life and how they try to work out to overcome them. It is a story from the darker parts of their lives which is hidden from the plain view by their sparkling outer core of their lives.
The work is about how one decision or one person can change your life. It follows their helplessness, worries, hardships, friendships and happiness in the end. I found the character of Esme strong but fragile in some ways. Marie starts as the strong, powerful woman who is a support for ESme and Nikki but in the end she is completely changed and she becomes the one who needs support and Nikki was a character I was rather curious about. The characters start as something and end in something else entirely. The story seems to be a narration of these 3 women but when the book’s end comes and the mysterious note is completed you realize it is not their story after all which twists your gut and leaves you confused. Though the starting was slow, the story picked up pace and ended with quite a slam. Though the story kept getting confusing at many points, it worked its way out.

This is the story of three young women who are in need of help. They all need money.
Maire has landed one of the richest men in Coconut City, her sugar daddy. She also runs an escort service for older men to meet younger women.
Esme has moved to Coconut City to make enough money to help her hometown boyfriend purchase the bar he had always wanted.
Niki is a college student who needs help to make ends meet and pay off her student loans.
I won this book and was intrigued from the day it appeared on my mailbox. Who doesn't dream of someone coming in and sweeping them away. Taking care of all their needs. Although most people do not sell themselves to make this happen but this is exactly what these three ladies have done. I cannot even pretend to understand how these women can do what they so but I do get why they had to.
Mickey Corrigan wrote a great book. I loved the narrator and seriously had no idea who he/she was until they gave themselves away at the end. I had some ideas but wasn't sure enough. I am sorry for how two of the ladies ended up and am not really sure the third one ended up all that happier, but I truly enjoyed getting to know all three of them.
I will recommend this book to all my sexy loving book lovers.

My typical style of reviewing isn't going to work for this book period and variety of reasons as well. Everyone knows what sugar daddy is but do you know what sugar baby is. I didn't until I read this book and quite frankly puzzled as to why anyone male or female would do this. Being a professional girlfriend is often times equated to being escort or latest arm candy. The three women portrayed at times could be clueless and vapid in appearance. I felt more sorry for them because they considered this lifestyle as the be all and end all of their world. Honestly it's surprisingly sad thing actually. I realize it's a book that may or may not happen in real life. I can picture this type of lifestyle but know that it's not the life for me.
The author did incredibly good job of creating this story showcasing this world. The characters and backdrop are lush, vibrant, eager, and happy at some point. Out of the three women Esme is my favorite because she clearly sees herself and knows what she wants out of life. I also like the fact that this story can happen anywhere any place around the world. I look forward to the next book by this author.

I have to admit that from reading the blurb, I was not sure this was the kind of book I would enjoy. But, I was asked to read the book as a favor and---boy, am I ever glad I did.
This story is a story of three women and a man, but the man is a shadowy figure. He opens the book with a page from his diary and the first paragraph grabbed me and didn't let go: Three women. I broke one's spirit. I broke another's neck, and I married the third.
The book takes the reader into the background world of professional girlfriends--young women who are out looking for their sugar daddies. It's not a pretty life and it's not all it's cracked up to be. Sure, there's glamour, fancy restaurants, and excitement but there's a darkness to it. And this book points out the danger as well.
The author shines when characterizing the women in the book: Esme, Maire, and Niki. The men are less well drawn, but that's okay...because it's not their story. The identity of the "sugar daddy" who wrote this diary eluded me to the end.. and I stayed up way too late to find out.

Esme is getting into the sugar life to support her low-life boyfriend and Niki needs help paying off her student loans. Each woman is damaged in their own way and as we read along the way, there is someone larger pulling the strings. ‘Sugar Babies’ is a very graphic and candid look into the Sugar Life featuring quirky characters that are compellingly real. I could feel a connection with the characters, not because of the lives they lead, but because of their insecurities. I was also drawn into the mystery underlying the major plot. ‘Sugar Babies’ is a book which will draw you in and turn your world upside down.

Ms. Corrigan does an excellent job portraying the girls, the city, the men... and kept this reader guessing to the very end who the "mystery man" is whose diary entries bookend this story. If you are in the mood for a dark thriller, give Sugar Babies a try. I think you'll be glad you did.

Sugar Babies is a compelling look into the hard truths behind the lives of three very different girls who unwittingly became mistresses to wealthy men in the fictional Coconut City. It was interesting to see how these girls fell into the so-called life of being a sugar baby and the way the book is written from a guy point of view who became involved with all of the girls adds a certain mystery to the whole story.
I love how distinct the three girls are. Maire; the fiery redhead who started a business introducing young girls to their prospective sugar dadies, Esme; the stunning beauty who sacrificed herself to support her useless boyfriend and Nikki; the troubled teacher in training. Fans of erotica might be a bit disappointed by the lack of hot scenes but this book reminded me a lot to Jackie Collin's earlier works which I found quite enjoyable.

Don´t know what I expected from the blurb but it wasn´t this.
Cynical, gritty and you get the feeling the author doesn´t like young women.
Even before the first chapter he states that "they´re nothing but flesh dummies, sex dolls you can blow up and fuck." or "This is the main problem with young women these days. They are spiritually, morally, and psychologically weak. Women are, in general, weak creatures. So they are nothing without men. And they know this" ?! This had me cringing and doing silly faces even before the first chapter, and that one didn´t make me feel better.
DNF after the first two chapters. Sorry, but not for me. I need more fluff, not realism.
