As a short ghost story, I really liked Ghosts of Kingston Cottage. As a romance? Not so much. This novella follows Arabella and her paranormal investigative team as they head over to the haunted Kingston Cottage. No one has ever been allowed to investigate this house or the small island it resides on until the owners decided to sell and need the ghosts gone before doing so. Being the best team around, Arabella's is put on the job, but they're also accompanied

Arabella Pierce has trust issues. Not that she's always been that way but after several painful break ups, the last one revealing that the man she was in love with was not who he said he was, she's hesitant to take the leap again. Oh yeah, and she's a medium working for Revenant Investigations as a paranormal investigator.

Lucas Brown is a skeptic. It's worked to his a

The story sets out with Arabella’s boss informing her that there will be a reporter for a debunking paper accompanying her and her team on this next job. Arabella has not only been burned in the romance department but in the professional one as well so she is none to happy about this development. In comes Lucas who has an instant attraction to Arabella and sets out from the beginning to break down her walls. The setting for the job is the infamous Kingston Cottage everyone has heard about it but ...more

Uncaged Review: This is a shorter novella length, and it’s really a love story, or should I say, two love stories in one. Arabella and her team work for a paranormal investigations unit that has been called out to a home on an island, that has been known to be haunted. The owner’s want the home “cleaned” so they can sell it. Much to the Arabella and the team’s dismay, a reporter and skeptic is joining them on this hunt to report to his readers about the company – if they are the real deal or fra ...more

When medium Arabella Pierce learns that a skeptical reporter is going to be following her and her colleagues on their latest investigation, she's less than pleased - especially considering her most recent encounters with such non-believers. But when she meets Lucas Brown, he seems different from the others. For starters, unlike the other reporters, he's not out to crucify Arabella and her team: he just wants evidence. Or so he claims. He also happens to make Arabella's heart skip a beat. Will th ...more

Arabella had her share of heartache and disappointment when it came to relationships. After her last boyfriend revealed himself to be none other than one of the skeptics she loathed in disguise, she was close to writing off her chances of finding real love. As a medium using her gift as a paranormal investigator, it's easy to understand why she'd have trouble finding someone to see past all of that and really get to know her. She certainly wasn't expecting to find the man for her in yet another ...more

Kingston Cottage was "built in the late 1800's by Rudolph Kingston (aka: RK)", who lived there with his wife and their two daughters. After the death of their youngest daughter, Katie's, husband Seamus, Katie became unstable. Her instability was magnified when she lost her most precious possession from Seamus; her wedding ring. Not but a week after the loss of the ring, Katie, herself disappeared, and only her shawl was ever located, having washed up on the island near the docks.

(This is a short story/novella. This review is not based on story length but story content as length has very little to do with how much I enjoy a book.)

In Ghosts of Kingston Cottage by Libby Bishop, Arabella Pierce, a medium and one of the lead investigators with Revenant Investigations of Maine, has had some horrible experiences with supposed journalists who claim to be searching for the truth in the paranormal world. More often than not, they were not fact finding, but maliciously writing stories discrediting Arabella's Gift with no proof behind their words.

I wasn’t sure when I chose this title if it would get too ‘ghost story’ or delve into the utterly obscure in a bad way. I am thrilled to report that it was a clever, dual romance where both couples have issues to sort and solve before their own happy ever after.

Arabella sees dead people. She currently sees Katie: stuck between two worlds as she is frantic to find her lost wedding band. Seamus, her husband, has crossed over and is patiently awaiting her, ring or no ring. Yet, Katie won’t let go

Arabella Pierce has a very unique and sometimes troublesome talent. She can sense and at times interact with the dead. After being burned by skeptic reporters, she is more than a little hostile when she is told to work with another of the same ilk.

Lucas Brown understands how the Revenant team might not be on board with his presence for the next hunt, but he has an obligation to present the facts to his readers. He will come in with an open mind and no preconceived notions. He will however be wat

Ghosts of Kingston Cottage is a perfect Halloween read. It's short and enjoyable, easy to finish in a short amount of time and leaves you feeling you have read a complete story. Sometimes novellas fall short of this, but this one by Libby Bishop does not.

This is the story of Lucas and Arabella and of two ghosts who loved each other deeply in the past. When Lucas joins Arabella's crew of paranormal specialists (an empath and a camera/equipment man), Arabella who is a widely esteemed medium is les

A sweet, haunting romance novella, Ghosts of Kingston Cottage was a lovely read. I really enjoyed reading this book. It had sweet romance, lost spirits, and a wonderful story.

Both of the lead characters were great. Arabella was likable and strong. She doesn't hide what she is, but is wary of people who seek to discredit her ability for their own gain. I thought she was great. Lucas was also wonderful. He was really sweet. He was honestly just looking for the truth and didn't rule anything out of

this book was a welcome read - it was interestingly written, the story was beautiful and the romance was rather sweet.

Arabella is a medium and works for a company who helps people with "ghost problems". she and her team are one of the best - nevertheless they made some negative experiences with skeptics - especially Arabella has some problems after a bad encounter.
she is not pleased when her boss decides that she and her team have to take a reporter on their next job.

Lucas is a honest reporter

Ghost of Kingston Cottage is my first foray to Libby Bishop's book. This one also her first novella, while she also write under other name. I choose Ghosts of Kingston Cottage, despite I'm so afraid of the the ghosts, my masochistic side want a perfect October read. What's better than ghost story?

[I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.] Just in time for Halloween, a romantic ghost story by Libby Bishop. Full review on my blog, Becky on Books.

Overall, I enjoyed Ghosts. It was definitely a light read, but entertaining. Arabella's team quickly discovers the source of the ghostly complaints at the cottage--a married couple, Katie and Seamus, who had perished separately decades before and seemed to be doomed to spend eternity apart. Honestly, as much as I enjoyed the modern protagonists--and I did--the story of the two ghosts offered up much more drama and suspense. Arabella and Lucas had a bit of t

This book seemed quite short but it reads so well and you find yourself so engrossed in it that you can’t put it down. Arabella is a paranormal investigator and a medium, located in Maine. Her team has a job to investigate “Kingston Cottage.”

Once on the island, Arabella makes contact with one of the known ghosts on the island, a man named Seamus. He died many years ago. He ants
Arabella Pierce has had some bad luck with men in the past - both personally and professionally - and she's very hesitant to trush skeptic Lucas. Lucas is determined to follow the famous ghost hunting team and prove to his readers if they are the real thing or just more fakes trying to make a quick buck. He doesn't expect to fall head over heels for the lead investigator, Arrabella. The story isn't just about Lucas and Arabella though. I enjoyed this romantic ghost story. It was perfect for October. When Arabella Pierce is forced to go on a paranormal investigation with a reporter for Debunker Media, she is not happy. She and her team have been maligned by skeptics before. Lucas Brown may be the exception to the rule. He tells her that he will only report the truth, but the pain these doubters have caused makes her afraid to trust. The Ghosts of Kingston Cottage was the perfect Halloween read. This was a part of a new imprint of Entangled and I loved that it was designed for a fast and easy read. I had this read in about 2 hrs.

My problem is with novellas this size, it's so hard to have a satisfying romance. If you don't connect to the characters right away, then it's a painful read. While I never could connect fully to the heroine, I still enjoyed the setting and romance of the ghosts-Seamus and Katie. The writing was wond

Who doesn't love a good ghost story, especially during the Halloween season when the nights are getting longer and there is just a touch of mischief and mystery in the air? I have always loved reading about ghosts. I am fascinated with them and I hardly ever pass up a good story that involves the supernatural, and okay, the cover didn't hurt either.

This wasn't so much of a ghost story as it was a love story, for both the ghost and the main characters.

This was a enjoyable short paranormal read. It followa a team of paranormal researchers to find if a cottage is haunted before the current owners sell the property. Along for the trip is a skeptic who is writing an article about the team. They are apprehensive especially the medium Annabella. The reporter, Lucas, turns out not to be what she expects and she has to decide if she can trust herself and risk falling in love. She has been burned in the past personally and also as part of the team.

Having been an investigator for TAPS in my state, the story line for the investigation rang true and personalized the story for me.
Libby Bishop's imagery transported me to that Maine island. By the time Arabella meets the first spirit, you will already be in love with her. This was what she wanted. Someone who wouldn't let go, someone who would love her so much he'd wait decades to be reunited with her.”
