Kristi’s life is changing fast. An unfortunate accident has her raising her niece, then she meets Wes—a man she can’t help falling for. Everything seemed to be going wonderfully. Until his crazy ex-girlfriend decides she can’t let go. Liza wasn’t supposed to be part of the deal, but in her mind Kristi and her niece are in the way and need to be eliminated. Though it’s a difficult decision, Wes and Kristi put their relationship on hold to avoid problems with his ex. It doesn’t last long. Liza is convinced that once she gets him back, he’ll cheat on her like the men in her past had done. The other woman has to go. She’s not sure what to do, but she talks to someone named Andy. He helps her—has always helped her. They come up with a plan, and late one night Kristi’s house is broken into by a maniac wielding a butcher knife.

I am a shameless romance addict with no intentions of ever kicking the habit. Growing up I dreamed of entertaining people and taking them on fantastical journeys with my acting abilities, until I came to the realization as a college sophomore that I had none to speak of. Another ten years would pass before I discovered a different means to accomplishing the same dream: writing stories of love and passion for addicts just like me.I have always loved romance stories and I try to tie all the elements I like about them into my writing.

I got this book as a Goodreads First Reads giveaway winner. Humidity Rising is a great, short mystery/ romance book with a twist. While it's a short book with only 108 pages of the story, it's still well written and has a great story.

Kristi is raising her niece after the tragic death of her parents when she meets Wes at a pediatric dental office waiting to pick up his nephew. He offers to take her and Janie out to dinner, bringing his nephew along for added security.

Wes and Kristi have an instant attraction and desire to be together, that is until Wes' ex girlfriend threatens to tear them apart forever. Mentally unstable and determined to get him back, the reader is taken on her short but twisted mission to carry out her plan. Will Liza be able to keep Wes and Krisit apart? Will Wes take Liza back? You have to read to find out!

Kristi is single and raising her niece when she meets Wes. Even though Wes and his ex-girlfriend have recently split up, he immediately falls in love with Kristi and adores Kristi's niece. Both Kristi and Wes believe they have a chance for a long-term relationship. However, Wes's jealous ex-lover reacts violently to her 'true love' finding someone else, and her erratic actions clearly indicate she has serious mental issues.

This sets the stage for the book. It was a good story outline, and I would have given a higher rating if the characters had been more fully developed. I received this book from Librarything in exchange for an honest review.

I liked the characters, but felt they could have been more developed. The storyline was ok, but again needed more development. This to me is a good outline for a full novel. It would have been great as a full novel and more background and more growth of the characters.
