“Healing is first a ‘growth’ in consciousness.” Catherine Ponder says that if there is a growth in the body, that this is an indication that there is need for growth and deeper development spiritually. Ponder names 12 dynamic mind powers of the body and working within these 12 points of the body is the healing action. And these do correlate to the 12 ancient meridians of the human body. You will learn that activating these 12 mind powers can release the negative and infuse peace into mind and body, hence healing both mind and body. ‘Mind over matter’ is not new and multiple psychological studies have proven that this approach is quite powerful. This book is sourced from faith in God, faith in life, faith in love, faith in goodness, faith in strength. What I liked about this method is its practicality in everyday life. Ponder does suggest prayer but the prayers are more like heartfelt affirmations. For example, “Let go, and let God.” Her advice to those who suffer with arthritis, on page 145, hits clear persuasive notes how to heal it using both the conscious and subconscious practice. She says we all have this healing power within us to “call alive your mind powers.” I suppose you might call this a form of Divine Science because it connects the body with the mind and the sacred spirit in its actions. We know all life is energy. If we direct our energy thought flow (what Ponder identifies as divine current) and we live our days in healthy thoughts and feelings, then healing and peace will flow through us. The secret of the ages is that the ancients, Egyptians and Brahmans, knew that powers of the conscious mind over the body are real and “immeasurable.” Likely, this book published in 1967 has long been overlooked with all the modern books on mind-body-spirit advances and studies published now. But I found it informative and genuine—completely refreshing! Paula Cappa is an avid book reviewer and an award-winning supernatural mystery author of novels and short stories.

I love Catherine Ponder's insight and power affirmations. Not sure why she wasn't more well-known, but plan to integrate her understanding into my energy work.

I’ve previously been a big fan of Catherine Ponder and loved her Dynamic Laws of Healing and Dynamic Laws of Prayer.

Sadly, I found this book unreadable. She tells us about the 12 dynamic mind powers located in 12 dominant nerve centres within our bodies. But for some reason I just don’t want to hear about these and couldn’t read the information.

Instead, I will now be re-reading her two afore-mentioned books and would advise other potential readers of Catherine Ponder’s works to try those instead.

This was my very second, as opposed to my very first time reading "The Healing Secrets of the Ages," the companion book to "The Dynamic Laws of Healing," both written by Dr. Catherine Ponder.

Dr. Ponder is the director of the Unity Church Worldwide, headquartered in Palm Desert, California.

I very much enjoyed reconnecting with the Divine Wisdom in this book, as well as reacquainting myself with the various Healing Power "Centers," located in the body.

In addition, I learned and relearned so much about myself in rereading this book. Especially regarding when the "12 dynamic mind powers" and their various locations throughout the human body.

I happily and unabashedly acknowledge that I often read and reread Dr. Ponder's books, because every time I read or reread a book written by Dr. Catherine Ponder, my life is so much better and works so much better.
