I would highly recommend purchasing this book because it’s a great cause and secondly, it’s Jack of course!

description

Whether your Team Ramsey, John or Jack this story is not to be missed. I absolutely loved Jack’s pov, he struggles with his long distance, comfortable relationship, with Danielle. P.S. He sure can’t handle water works.

”Danielle thought it was cute and funny, and Jack thought it sounded like a slow painful death.”

Lexi more than catches Jack’s eye in this story. She really embodies everything a perfect girl is to him. Sadly, this scares the crap out of him on a lot of levels.

Haters deem Jack a cheater, etc., but I found that this book gave great insight as to how Jack saw things playing out and his feelings for both girls.

”It was just something about her.”

This story has me more than excited for the conclusion of the series due out December 10, 2013.

K.A. Linde bring it!

I used to be a die hard Ramsey girl... nothing could make me change. Then after taking a step back, relooking and reevaluating things, I jumped back to the Jack/dark side!!!

After reading his POV from when they first met, I am firmly a member of the Jack Pack. He is messed up, scared of real love and committment so he settles to stay safe. He has always settled for the safe girl that doesn't really make him FEEL. But with Lexi, he knows from the beginning she is different.... she is the one and that scares him... hence his stupidity.

I love K A Linde's writing style and can't wait for the conclusion of this story. Fingers crossed... blue eyes wins the girl!!

The First Time Jack Meets Lexi
Avoiding Commitment, Jack's POV
(Avoiding, #1.5)

I included this as a part of this anthology. Here is the blurb:

Jack and Lexi never had a typical relationship. In the bestselling novel, Avoiding Commitment, you find out why. There are two sides to every story, and Lexi doesn’t even know this one. Get inside Jack’s head in this never before seen short story—the first time he meets Lexi.

All proceeds benefit breast cancer research!

I HAVE NO CLUE WHY THIS POV CONVERTED SOME TO TEAM JACK

Jack's POV shows us what we all already know: Jack is spineless. He couldn't even break it off with his girlfriend - because she gave him a blow job, had lots of sex with her and employed "tears" at that moment. With Lexi, Jack is worse - he is a spineless bastard.

FOR THE LIFE OF ME, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE THINK LEXI AND JACK ARE SOULMATES. I'm not trying to rile up something or people here. I JUST HONESTLY DON'T UNDERSTAND.

For me, this is not a soulmate-type of back and forth love that spans years. This is how I see it: it's an emotionally abusive relationship where Jack continually walks all over Lexi because she allows it EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. IT IS NOT ROMANTIC. IT'S SAD. TRAGIC. PATHETIC. If Lexi was a friend in real life, I doubt you'd find this romantic. Instead, you'd be shaking some sense into her.

I don't know if she'll end up with Ramsey at the end of this trilogy. Most likely she'll end up with Jack because people are hoping for his redemption. After everything he has done right up to the very end of AR, I can't see a way for him to dig himself out of this hellhole. For once in his life, Jack needs to be selfless when it comes to Lexi. I'm hoping that means finally letting her loose once and for all.

More than ending up with Team this or that, WHAT I HOPE TO SEE AT THE END OF THIS SERIES IS A LEXI THAT I CAN FINALLY BE PROUD OF. ONE WHO LEARNED TO FINALLY GROW A BACKBONE AND GAINED SELF-RESPECT IN THE PROCESS.

I only read two stories in this Anthology:

Olivia by Madeline Sheehan - 4 stars:

I really enjoyed this and would love a full length story. It was a bit sad but I loved how it ended. Especially the impact of the name. And I want to know more about this drummer!

Avoiding Commitment (Jack's POV) by K.A. Linde - 4 stars:

I cannot wait for the last book so I was happy to have this in the meantime. It was great reading about the affect Lexi had on Jack even though I didn't like how he couldn't break free of Danielle!

Just saw that she's coming out with another novella, Avoiding Decisions, November 19th. can't wait!

Favorite quote:

FIVE FABULOUS JACK STARS!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤

 photo image_zpsb23cbdb8.jpg

Oh my god, Kyla Linde, did not disappoint with this POV from Jack.
It takes place when Jack and Lexi first meet in college.
I had butterflies in my stomach while reading it.

These two were meant to be together and this is the Jack I fell in love with.
This is the guy who is Swoonworthy to the millionth degree!!!

He took one last look at the girl seated at the table across from him. When he stared at her, he felt the same stirring in his body that he'd had when she had been at the counter. He didn't know what it was. She was hot, but it was more than that. It was just something about her. - Jack

The chemistry between Jack and Lexi is undeniable and is instantaneous!!
You can see what kind of guy he really is.
He'll stay in a relationship that should have been long over, only so as not to hurt the girls' feelings.

He tries to be honorable even though his heart no longer belongs to his current girlfriend.
Jack sees that everything with Lexi is just "right". As if they were "meant" to be.

Jack's smirk grew with her laughter. Something about Lexi seemed to just fit. She was so easy to be around. There was no forcing the conversation. There were no awkward silences. There was only Jack and Lexi.

I knew it!!
Jack is not this shallow, womanizing cheater that a lot of women think him to be.
All throughout the last two books, I kept rooting for him.
He and Lexi have such an emotional tie to one another.
There is SOMETHING there that needs to be fulfilled.

Jack smiled and drew her in closer. He didn't care if everything seemed to be spinning off axis. He only cared that he was hopelessly falling for her. And all he wanted was to stay exactly where they were with his arms wrapped around his girl. Because when he was with her, there was nothing and no one else.

He had this strange feeling creeping through his chest. It started at there and blossomed out to his extremities. She had ignited something in his body that he would never forget--just like he would never forget the way her hand fit perfectly in his, those soul-searching brown eyes, the taste of her pink lip gloss, the intoxicating nature of her presence.

I LOVED this little added bonus into Jack's psyche!!!

Just PERFECT!!
Please go out and buy this ebook.
It's for a really great cause!!!! :)

I was afraid to read this story written from Jack's POV. I was completely content in my anger at the Jackass. Like everyone else I was routing for Jack until the end of Avoiding Commitment. See he kept letting me down and I was beginning to like Ramsey a little more. In the last chapter I had decided I didn't want Lexi with either. Bekah had me convinced both were snakes. Then came Avoiding Responsibility and Ramsey won my heart again. By the last page Jack had became Jack "the coward" Howard and I was #TeamRamsey all the way (because really Mystery Man was just that a mystery). When Avoiding Intimacy was released I thought I would stay firm in my #TeamRamsey stance because this was Chyna's book so... yeah we really get to know our Mystery Man from AR and he is super hot and all of a sudden I am a #DoubleDipper. Happily perched on my fence between Ramsey and John. Still angry and frustrated at Jack Howard. That Asshole. So when I heard K.A. Linde was apart of this anthology and was writing the beginning of Avoiding Commitment from Jack's POV I thought "Oh no, I am going to end up a #TripleDipper". I just knew being inside Jack's head was going to garner a little sympathy from me. Boy did it. I saw something in this short story that I had entirely missed in the other three books because I was blinded by my anger. Jack has a good heart. Yes THAT Jack. He "tries" to do right by everyone. He "tries" not to hurt anyone. AND when the man is backed into a corner he panics! The last thing he wanted to do was hurt Lexi... he even tried to stay away from her but he just couldn't. He wanted to just be in her presence. He wasn't looking for an easy lay... actually he wasn't looking for a lay at all... how many college guys do you know that are completely faithful to the girlfriend back home??? Ugh no no no... Jack is not the asshole I thought he was - really? Can that be true? So did I become a #TripleDipper you may ask. NO. I. Did. Not. >>>> I freaking became a Jack Packer <<<< There I admit it!!! Yes I hopped right off that fence I was SO comfortable on because let's face it Jack & Lexi are meant to be together, I mean even Lexi has to know that... all this "avoiding" but she can never quite get herself out of Jack's orbit... how hard could it have been to "avoid" him when she was living in NYC and him in Atlanta? Honestly how hard is it to cut someone out of your life for good? Not that hard if you really want to. So yeah now going into Avoiding Temptation I am officially 100% #TeamJack for the first time and it's not even Bekah's fault... it's K.A. Linde's and this little Jack POV's FAULT ;)

So I know it's like breaking the girl code, but I just can't let myself let go of hope for a Lexi & Jack HEA. Especially after seeing their early days from his point of view. Jack sees her, there is something about her that just draws him in. But he knows it's wrong, but even a few seconds with her can't be wasted. And seeing just how much he fights the idea of something feeling real and strong - makes me love him even more.

He can't commit, but that's not all it is. He has long term relationships. It's not commitment that he is scared to death of. It's love. And off all the girls, the only one he couldn't commit to was the only one he loved. Lex.

December 10th can't come soon enough. I need to see if Jack can be redeemed, if he can finally get past his fears and get a chance to win Lexi back. This series was one of the best angst driven reads ever. I was seriously in knots and ready to throw up due to nerves and I imagine that Avoiding Temptation is going to be ten times worst and better at the same time.

Team Jack from page one till the very last.

JACK! I HATE YOU SO MUCH and I LOVE YOU SO HARD!
crying photo: crying crying.gif

Gah!! Why? Why did I read this!!! I thought I had gotten over him and accepted that there was no hope for him! What did I call him... "a weaselly little douche" but NOOOO, I had to go and open up a healing wound! We were reminded of Coffee Shop Jack...I mean COFFEE SHOP JACK for crying out loud!! Ugh, I hate him for what he's done but I am always hoping for his redemption. I am not Team Ramsey but I understand why he's a better choice but still, it's Jack! I can't wait for Avoiding Temptation, although these titles have been very telling in the outcome of these books so I don't know...

Psst, Jack...

Ughhhhhh!!!!!

Seriously? Jack's POV makes me so mad. Obviously, he really cares for Lexi but come on, we all know who he ends up choosing in the end. It's been awhile since I've read Avoiding Commitment and I thought I've moved on, apparently not.

God I love Jack.....SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCHHHHHH! I have always been Team Jack from day one, I just got him. Even without this POV I felt like I understood MOST of his actions. There was only one scene in the previous two book that totally threw me for a loop (I don't even know what to say about that scene) but THIS POV just proves that my faith in him was correct. I love how K.A. Linde added the whole if I lost control I would throw her up against a wall!!!! hahaha <3 I CAN NOT WAIT until Dec 10 when Avoiding Temptation is released. GO TEAM JACK!!!!! Woot Woot!

Oh Jack, Jack, Jack you are trying to take me to the dark side!!! But alas, as tempting as that is I am still 100% Team Ramsey and rooting for his and Lexi’s HEA!!! Reading Jack’s POV was enlightening, all those times while reading AC where I was thinking “Jack what is wrong with you??" are answered. Jack is a lost soul, letting his fears get in the way of possible true love and taking the easy road. Oh Jacky boy you are hopeless, but I still have a soft spot for you and all your antics!! In the end, Jack's commitment issues, douchebag ways and overall jackassery (great word for him if I do say so myself!) was too much for me to believe in his and Lexi's relationship it was doomed from the start! I love K.A. Linde's writing and love, love, love her Avoiding Series- for those of you who have yet to read it do so now you are missing out!!

This review is based on an ARC copy. Allowances have been made for errors in the draft that should be corrected in the final anthology.

Of course I'm giving it a 5- this is a collection of donated stories for a breast cancer awareness gift with donation thru Kallysten's blog via the stayclassy (dot) org link. The stories range from sweet to kinky, contemporary to sci-fi, and established series characters to stand alone written-for-this-anthology stories.

This is an amazing collaboration of stories! Author Kallysten has put together 33 authors, each with very different takes on the color pink, and put it together in an effort to raise money for breast cancer research. I have so enjoyed reading through all of the different stories! There is truly something for everyone! A few of my favorite authors have such stories as Laura Hunsaker's "Highland Eclipse", a time-traveling journey to Scotland. Or T. Hammond's story "In Love With Teresa March" which offers a different glimpse of her Team Red series. J.J.Ellis, author of the Sunset Destiny series, offers a short that features characters you might already know. Also, Rose Caraway of The Sexy Librarian and Kiss Me Quicks fame has a tale called "The Mother" which is historical romance at its best. I discovered new authors, such as Sabrina Garie, DJ Shaw and J. Annas Walker. I also love Kallysten's offering in this anthology, called "The Last Sunset."

Truly, this is a great volume of short stories and for a worthy cause!

I have a short story called "See Me" in this collection - it stands on its own as a sweet and sexy moment of realization between best friends, but it also hints at a future possible serial (because, ya know, *reasons*). This is the only opportunity to meet Ember and Gage in 2013. Easy decision to pick this up when all it costs is a suggested donation directly to the breast cancer charity of your choice, and what you get is a mega anthology from 33 awesome authors.

After searching high and low for this and needing to see things from Jack's POV I was sadly disappointed :(

I was expecting it to be so different :( But at least it provided some insight although I would have loved it to be a different scene. But I guess K. A. Linde did this to torture her readers even more hahahahaha!

3.5 It is no secret that I am a huge fan of the Avoiding Series....it is also no secret that I'm a Team Ramsey girl....That being said, I do understand Jack and all of his Jackassness (yes, you heard right)......but regardless of how he truly feels about Lexi, his actions just don't back those feelings up. I enjoyed reading this b/c hey it's one of my fav series, but I was really longing for some insight into some of Jack's more " Jackassery" moments. Ya know the downright douchebag moments....oh Team Jack-ers you know which ones I'm talking about ;)... But I am sure some of that is being saved for Avoiding Temptation....fingers crossed. #anxiouslywaitingavoidingtemptation

I don't know what I think. I think that way too much has happened for that little bit inside his head made any difference. Don't get me wrong, I am 100% Team Jack but, I need more. I have never doubted his feelings, he is just freaking stupid. This kinda just reinforced it. Stupid, stupid Jack. If he doesn’t get redeemed in the next book I just don’t know what I will do. This book was the perfect insight into Jack's head when he first met Lexi. A guys POV is very hard to do and I can say that K.A Linde did a perfect job allowing us to see Lexi through his eyes when they first met. This book is not about being a Jack, Ramsey or Mystery Man fan and I doubt anyone who is team Ramsey or Mystery Man will jump ship to team Jack from this short story. What it will do is give you insight into why Jack is Jack. As a MAJOR fan of the Avoiding Series I can say that this short Jack POV will provide you some insight into the fact that maybe Jack has family issues which is why maybe he has done some of the things he has done.

Don't be scared that this book will make you love Jack if you hate him. I doubt it will do that in less you are on the fence then you might see things different. I can say that I loved having a few seconds of Jack and Lexi being back in my life since I have been missing them so so so much.

I'm team John at the moment and earlier today I was a Ramsey lover so I can say this review was written while hating Jack.

I can't wait for December 10th when the 3rd and final book will be released. Everyone should donate to "Shades of Pink" to not only get Jack's POV but also to donate to a very important cause.

It was nice to get into Jack's head but I would have liked to have gotten into his head later in life, like when Jack is dating Bekah and Lexi re-enters his life.

This is from the scene of meeting Lexi to dating her while in college and only for a brief time. This is really short. I am Team Jack but this did not do him any justice because it did not make him look good.... with that said. It was a treat to read and the money went to a good cause.

*sigh*

I loved this... it reminded me of the early days when I loved Jack and only wanted him and Lexi together. It was nice to get into his head. We obviously had no idea what he was thinking. I at least was a bit at peace to know he truly felt something for her at one point.

HOWEVER, this does NOT mean I want him to end up with Lexi. Regardless of how sweet he comes across here, his future actions prove what a douche he is. I just can't let go or forget those things. It's truly a shame because when you read this story, you can almost feel that hope. You know, that hope you get throughout the majority of the first two books that everything will FINALLY work out for the two. But it all comes crashing down.

This brief glimpse is bittersweet.

I knew I love Jack Howard fora a reason! This man is so beautiful in the inside and sad part of that is that no one knows it and it's making him the bad guy... he not so good either but he really is a sweetheart... I know everybody is Team Ramsey but I can say with pride that he'll always be my HEA for Lexy because he have to spend the rest of his live making it up to her for all the heartache she had to endure... Love, love, love his POV!!! K.A. Linde you do know how to write girl!!!
