I wish I could say I liked you, Trust Games. What seemed like an interesting read, I wanted to see how the topic was handled, but it wasn't handled well. I think because it wasn't actually about the main player in the game, but more of her view on the side-lines that you didn't get to see the attraction. And that's what made it an uncomfortable read, and it has nothing to do with the subject at hand, but the characters. But I'll get to that in a minute. You can kind of guess what Trust Games is

A bit of a 'Notes on a Scandal' for teenagers...

That's not to give away the plot, the cover, the synopsis both hint at the story. Other reviews openly admit what's inside. It's something you suspect before the main character does.

I've got to be honest, when I first started Trust games I wasn't really into it, there's no particular depth to the writing and I didn't like Beth at all. But I continued because I wanted to see how it handled such a sensitive subject and its pretty short so I knew I'd read it quickly.
After turning the last pages I feel myself conflicted, see, I kept turning the pages, the story felt true to life and I wanted to see what happened but at the same time I wish the book had more to it, that it was

Made me a little uncomfortable but still a powerful read. Full review to come.
Beth is being bullied at school but when popular girl stands up for her, she thinks she has a chance to get that best friend she's always wanted. Her persistence in befriending Hannah was borderline creepy but I can understand her need for having a friendly face at school. Then new drama teacher Mr Moore, a very cute and young new teacher, comes in to produce Romeo and Juliet. Knowing what was going to happen, I was

If main character moans and is a ridiculously ungrateful teen in the first chapter I'm not going to want to know. Equally fact she refers to her teen brother as grunt rather than his actual name pissed me off immeasurably
