Amber’s Fantasy is an erotic romance novella by Pepper Anthony, published by Beachwalk Press. It tells the story of Amber Jackson, an office worker who has secret desires about having sex with two men at the same time. She’s mortified when her co-worker, Ray Ferris, who’s helping her move some boxes, discovers her ménage novels, and cottons on to what she fantasises about.

In spite of her embarrassment, and the company policy that bans co-workers from dating, Amber finds herself growing increasingly attracted to the IT hunk. She’s never had the hots for a white man before, either, which adds to her confusion. When Ray makes her an offer — to have sex with him and his equally sexy cousin, Cal — will she have the courage to go through with it? It’s what she’s fantasised about for so long, but is it right to make the fantasy reality, and will she regret it if she does? Will she regret it if she doesn’t?

Amber’s torn so many ways, that when a chance comes for them to be together without repercussions, she’s incredibly tempted to take it. But there’s more to the attraction between Amber and Ray than meets the eye — is she fulfilling a longed-for desire at the expense of true love? Or can she have both? More barriers are thrust up between them, but if they really want to be together, then they’ll do their best to leap them.

Amber’s Fantasy was a great read. I loved the everyday, realistic setting and the equally realistic characters with their hopes, dreams and fantasies. I found myself rooting for Amber to get what she wanted from the very beginning, and also enjoyed the fact the story was told from both Amber and Ray’s points of view, so you could see what was happening in both their heads. Amber’s plight was interesting and intriguing, and this well-written, romantic and steamy story is definitely worth a read for erotic romance fans, especially if they’re partial to ménage.

Erin's Review:

This story taps in to the fantasy of many of us girls, having two men at once. From just the thought, to the flirting, to the actual act, this book takes you through every step and you feel every ounce of anticipation Amber and Ray both feel. The teasing leading up to her fulfilling her fantasy is enough to get you all hot and bothered. The book does an awesome job is not only describing Amber's fantasy in every erotic detail, but it also shows how in some ways, it can be awkward. Once things heat up, though, dang!
The story takes an incredibly real twist after the deed. What now happens after the fantasy? Can a relationship with the one she is attracted to(Ray) work now that she was with him and his cousin? Can Ray ever look at her the same again? Is this what she really wants? Is he going to be enough in the bedroom to satisfy her? Is he willing to do this again, knowing his feelings for her?
It asks and answers all the poignant questions. It also goes to show that sometimes, reality is so much sweeter than the fantasy ever could be.

An interesting question is posed in this book: are the fantasies that fuel our imaginations as we read romance novels as good as we hope when they are fulfilled? Amber is living a life that she finds unrewarding; difficulties with her family and her desire to improve her sister’s life leave her little time for personal pursuits and even less for a relationship. She escapes and finds her own moments of happiness via her romance novels where she can imagine herself the heroines she so admires, not the woman in dull clothes working too much overtime without a relationship.

Despite restrictions against colleagues starting personal relationships, Ray has always had his eye on Amber, even though he too spends much time caring for his family. Helping her move some items, and seeing the stash of erotic romance novels among her things, he wonders if the quiet Amber isn’t far deeper than she would have let on from her outward businesslike appearance.

When the two start their relationship, things are proceeding well, but Amber’s fantasies learned in her novels have her intrigued and wanting to experience what her heroines do: a ménage. Quiet Ray is more than content with Amber and he alone, their relationship has steamy moments and he is finding just how attractive she is to him. But, being a giving sort, he will do anything for her to keep her.

What is missing from most every romance book that features a ménage scene is the aftermath: the unexpected jealousy, the hurt feelings, and the disappointment when the fantasy doesn’t reach the level of the fantasy. Pepper Anthony does a fabulous job of displaying all of these emotions and questions for both Amber and Ray, and brings the story to a much needed climax.

Well written with the exception of feeling removed and nearly clinical in the point of view during the ménage scenes, this book brings up several different issues and questions for readers who escape into romance and wonder about applying a fictional situation to their own lives. Anthony manages to present realistic concerns into the story without losing the enjoyment of an erotic romance; in fact I thought it enhanced the story with more emotional impact that improved the path to the happily ever after.

I received an eBook from the author for purpose of honest review with Tasty Book Tours. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Amber's Fantasy reveals a woman's journey of discovering the value of reality versus fantasy. Amber's life is one of unpleasantness and disappointment from an indifferent brother and a sister on a destructive path. She's desperate to succeed to make a better life for her sister which leaves little time for play or finding her own happiness. The romance novels she reads promises something carefree, offering time for fun without the need to be in control. The books represent the woman she'd love to be for a little way, a woman opposite to the one wearing nondescript clothing and working lots of overtime. I admired Amber and her devotion to her family though they don't deserve it. I could see myself in her in that all of us long for an escape with books being the perfect form of travel.

Ray too is devoted to his family and willing to give up lots of spare time to care for them. He's drawn to Amber and her secretive side and finds the idea of a ménage intriguing and just wants to give Amber whatever she wants. Their relationship evolves as a slow burn that builds the sexual tension until it explodes in a super steamy interlude that seems perfect with just the two of them. Ray exudes sexuality in a surprising way for a geeky tech guy and I enjoyed seeing his sexy confident side away from work.

The ménage plays out differently than either expected and as other romance stories make it appear. It felt clunky and the third person seemed like an afterthought. The incident also brought out issues of jealousy that neither counted on. Discovering that reality is better than fantasy, and the importance of their being together, has them rethinking their future and doing what must be done to reach their HEA in a satisfying conclusion. From beginning to end this was a well-written story that flowed at a nice pace. The characters are likable with issues dealt with realistically. This was my first time reading Ms. Anthony but won't be my last.

4.3 Star Review - Amber's Fantasy

I recommend this book.

Amber enjoys reading ménage stories on her lunch break but no one knows about them or that her secret fantasy is to try re-creating the stories.

When she can't get her computer to work before a big meeting she asks Ray for help. After helping Ray offers to help move her boxes and stumbles across her books.

When they are alone he offers to help make her fantasy come true she is embarrassed and turned on at the same time. Ray has no idea what he is doing but he totally wants Amber. So if in order to get her he has to do something different he decides that it is worth it.

Should she take him up on the offer? Truly will it be worth it in the end for either of them? Or will it tear apart even the friendship between them both?

Very hot and sexy read!! Can't wait for Pepper's next book.

Amber’s Fantasy, by author Pepper Anthony, is spiced with plenty of sizzle and crackling fire as the desires of a woman with a body built for pleasure is packaged in a reserved, intelligent, dedicated employee and family member. Amber’s heart of gold for duty and job dedication is dripping with a smoldering secret compartment which is popping with red-hot, crackling sparkles of desires for a juicy menage encounter. Who doesn’t like a decadent erotic romance full of tricks and temptations? After her many hours of reading about romantic erotic entanglements she places herself into the middle of the sensual tales leading to many hot steamy thoughts and desires of her own. Oh! How juicy a fantasy can be, even perhaps bigger and better than real life itself!

Pepper Anthony does a great job of mind-sex on the audience and I found its after-burn wonderful. The seeds of erotic pleasure still titillates my being after enjoying Amber’s Fantasy. Ms. Anthony is well versed in all things that take a reader from realism and stressful daily routines to a place of sheer delight into the pleasure sensors of the brain and heart.

I enjoyed and related to the complex personalities of the characters and their plight with the personal and professional consequences dealing with the what ifs and the emotional entanglements if the fantasy is played out.

Amber, a beautiful African American woman, who has not entertained being in love or lust with a man of European heritage finds herself drawn into Ray’s synergy after he discovers her passion for erotic narratives loaded with menage activities. This knowledge of Amber’s private desires spins these two colleagues into a tail-spin. Ray, oh you nasty boy; chocolate has never been so tempting as the beautiful, demure persona of Amber’s secrets. (smile)

I relished the development of Amber’s fantasy’s web of semi-dark secrets between two company employees, company policies and the burning desires to go deeper into lustful, wanton passion.

Ms. Anthony manifests a degree of envy into the mix by adding the ingredient of another person, who is closely connected to one of the major players to the potion of sinful passion. This element is a necessary evil to bring dreams/fantasy full circle to life. Oh how adventurous the mind can be once freed to march off where the conscious mind warns it not to go!

The narrative element of Amber’s Fantasy is realistic in every sense, from the beginning of the story to the closure. Everything in Amber’s Fantasy stimulates desire and the hungry need to fulfill that tingling itch; let’s do the damn thing. I like Cal, Ray’s quiet, shy cousin and his energy. His feelings for the pending encounter may be more than the three bargained for. Could this be just fun with no strings attached? Can feelings of lust be just that, nothing more for the three hot bodies and creative minds of sharing erotic pleasures?

This is not my first experience with the mind-altering erotic world of Pepper Anthony and as usual this read kept me engaged and entertained. Ms. Anthony’s narrative never disappoints her audience and her purpose for writing a narrative is always clear…to excite and entertain.

I recommend Amber’s Fantasy. Who knows? It may be your fantasy too. (smiling deviously)
