The Encyclopedia of Apocalypticism: The Origins of Apocalypticism in Judaism and Christianity

Rate this book
The core historical chapters have been extracted from the three-volume Encyclopedia of Apocalypticism (1998) to trace the development of the belief that God has revealed the imminent end of the ongoing struggle between good and evil in history. Contributors identified by institution but not field of study cover the three western monotheistic faiths—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—from ancient times to the present. Only ancient sources and modern names are indexed. Annotation 2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
