Thought this would be a good, steamy, short-story. It was disappointing. Even for a smutty read, it was bad.

April is a total pushover and is far too compliant. She just came off as weak and gullible. Her husband was a pig. The other partners were creepy pervs. To top it all off, the book ends abruptly in the middle of the only steamy scene, at a pivotal point in the story! I'm no stranger to cliffhangers, but at least finish the damn scene! I won't be continuing this little series to find out o

I received a free boxed set of The Arrangement series by Abby Weeks in return for my honest review.

I just started reading The Arrangement 1, and I did not get far before I decided to stop reading the story all together. This was clearly not for me. It is a disturbing story about a helpless, isolated wife, April, emotionally abused by her controlling, degrading, rigid husband, Walter, who was expected to fulfill the fantasies of the partners in her husband's law firm in order to insure his succes

This was a great opening to the series of the Arrangement. I probably would've given it a better rating had I had the next book in hand. I absolutely hate Walter, but the the control, boldness and assertiveness that his wife is finding now that he has made partner. Looking forward to see where this series will go next. ...more

A little confused by this story.
I can't decide if I like the overall premise. I'm definitely struggling with the main character, April. Mostly I haven't decided if this serial series is worth buying the following books. So I'll have to give this a solid 3 stars, just okay. Good.

April seems to have it all when looking in from the outside, but the reality is very different. Her husband Walter must have the perfect family; kids, wife, house, in order to make the perfect impression on his new part

This short book was excellent in story and the way the sexual scenes were written.

This was one of those "I should have known better" freebies that I found on Amazon. I'm not sure what exactly I was expecting, but it was certainly not a controlling, adulterating husband, and a meek wife who could change her personality like the flip of a switch if she either thinks someone is being out of line, or she is about to be used sexually be a room full of older men.

From the beginning, I felt there was something not quite right about this book. First April is fondled at a dinner with

Weeks had me on the edge of my seat as I alternated between feelings of fear and excitement for April. From the beginning I felt a sense of fear, uncertainty, and trepidation. As soon as I expected something awful to happen, something positive would happen instead. However, the positives were too good to be true, and you know what they say about things that are too good to be true...

From the beginning, you wonder if her husband is abusive from the way she responds to him. As the story progresses

This first instalment in The Arrangement is emotionally charged. I ran the gamut while reading it. I was shocked, happy, nervous, saddened. There’s also a bit of a sinister feel to the story as well. Weeks’ foreshadowing draws you forward through this short story and right into the next.

You get to know the main character of this novella very well: her past, her present, who she was, who she is, who she will become. You start to see her coming into her own right at the end of the story. You also

Ridiculously poorly written abuse porn. Also? Quotation marks, AKA these thingies "" exist for a reason. Replacing them with a -- before every line of dialog is never going to be acceptable. Hot, sexy and heat provoking

Wow...just wow. This has got to be one of the hottest books I've read in a long time, and I read a lot of naughty books. I can't wait to sink my teeth onto the next hot. Oh what it would be like to be in April's place. Makes me hot just thinking about it. Great read, highly recommend it if you are looking for something that will turn you on and make you want more.

What is happening here??

I'm so confused. This story seems to take place in the 50s or 60s but then all of a sudden it seems current. Why is the wife's name April? Nobody born prior to 1975 is named April. I'm pretty sure I just made that fact up but I bet I'm right. The other character's names are Walter, Herb, Midge etc. which indicates that they're old and the story was a long time ago. April drives a Studebaker and Walter got a baby blue Cadillac with fins!!

Fast forward a little further and A

There were some good things about this and some things I just couldn't get behind. April has what appears to be a good life. Her husband just got a promotion at his firm and by all rights she should be happy. Her thoughts just don't run that way though. We gather her husband is cheating and has been for a very long time. He's very controlling and she goes with the flow to ensure his happiness even though she's not happy.

The night her husband, Walter gets promoted they have a dinner with his par

This book is.... Meh.... It confused me more than anything really, April started out very unsure of herself, then with a bit of money she becomes this arrogant person, she was forced to have her 2 girls sent off to boarding school which she cried about then the next day she was fine with it and thinking about all the things she could do with her life that left me like "what?" They go to a formal dinner party, she was bought a dress by one of the partners which she was uncomfortable in but her pe ...more

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, oooh...I got a new attitude!!!

I knew from the first paragraph that Walter was a self-serving jerk. He had to have his way and if April ever objected to anything he had to make his wife feel bad about it.

But I like how his new position at his job brought forth a new position and attitude in her life. She became more bold. Sometimes the boldness faltered when it came to Walter but little by little April gained confidence. She started to learn things about herself that she would
This is the first installment of a serial novel but it is free, like a sample you can read this first decide if you like it and want to read more or not. It is now available as a complete book.

I found this book intriguing I genuinly wanted to know where this book was going. Sadly this first part ended just as it was getting good.

April in one breath was insecure and worried she would loose everything at any moment and in the next believed herself to be sexy and the best looking woman the man had

April's character makes me think of the movie the Ugly Truth with Gerald Butler and Katie Heigl. And how in the movie Gerald had to teach her how to be the cross behind the librarian and the stripper, so i'm wondering if the same concept is being applied here, and kind of foreshadowing what could be happening in some workplaces nowadays. Also the fact that she has low self esteem and that every move is being controlled by her husband and the men that he works for at the firm, really bothers me a ...more

A house wife who has been psychologically abused into a position of submission is where the story opens. Weakened by childhood insecurities she finds herself exactly where she swore she would never be. Existing to suffer the whims of her husband. When an offer of partnership is accepted, she finds her life is now being dictated by four men.

There are several scenes I'm at odds with. A subjugated woman who sneers down at her chauffer; the abandonment of her 4 and 6y/o girls to boarding school so s

Not worth the digital space it takes up

Where to begin? The grammar? Okay, the author is apparently allergic to to quotation marks. Seriously, it's like she typed this out in a series of text messages.
Then the anachronisms. If The Bell Jar hadn't been published in the US it's somewhere between 1963 and 1973 (and, him these men having a signed copy of this book. 'Sure, Jan' not only does it NOT fit in with their beliefs at all; it's also a little heavy handed symbolism), but G-strings weren't aro

I was asked by the author if I would read and review this book, so here is my honest review. This is a great story. April is married to Walter and they have two daughters. They live in a beautiful house and April is content. When Walter comes home one night with great news. He has made partner and April doesn't know what comes with making partner. Things change quickly and April is worried that no one has asked her if she wants to move or when they are moving. Everything is handled by the firm. ...more

Hi, my name is Abby. I hope you enjoy my exciting new romance and erotica stories.

I love stories about strong, female protagonists that give you a good character arc and background to the action as well as providing the steamy details of what they get up to. I am particularly attracted to themes like wife-swapping, voyeurism, exhibitionism, and public and group encounters.

I am thirty-years-old and
