Do you Believe in Love After Life?

At twenty-five, West-End dancer Ellie Wakefield should be having the time of her life. The only problem is, ever since waking up in a leaky cellar belonging to three-hundred-year-old vampire Will Austen, she's been very much dead. And to make matters worse, she's since found that an aversion to blood and a fear of the dark aren't very help

Fact: I haven't been reading vampire novels or romances for about 6 years.
Another fact: This book might just have reminded me why I used to love such novels so much.

"Dance until dawn" starts off with Elinor (Ellie), a dancer, turned into a vampire by the vampire elder of London, Will, who has been besotted with her quite a while and refuses to let her die. So he turns her.

This is not the usual type of book I would go for, but as I had nothing else to read at hand, I bought it ... and it definitly hasnt dissapointed. I was quite shocked at how much I enjoyed reading it. It really is an amazing read and would recommend to anyone

I throughly enjoyed reading this book and the author held my attention throughout the whole book, keeping me captivated in her plot and characters. In my opinion, this book is for a mature reader due to some sexual references and small trigger warnings, however, I felt that the writing style was more middlegrade and thus I rated the book three stars. I would pick up more books from the author as the are unique, enjoyable and i can get through them relatively quickly. I loved the plot and the spe ...more

I do like a paranormal read, especially one that has a romance woven into its pages, and this is exactly what you get with Berni Stevens’ Dancing Till Dawn.

Will’s the ultimate alpha vamp, from an era long forgotten by modern society, and Ellie’s an independent, feisty young woman, living her life by the rhythms of music and dance. Both are from two different worlds, until a terrible event flings Ellie into a life she neither believes nor fits in to.

From the moment Ellie opens her eyes and realis

Ellie wakes up in a creepy cellar and there is a creepy guy there, yes that is the beginning ;) Sort of.

What I liked here is that Ellie had a really hard time believing she was a vampire. I mean who would believe some crazy guy who locked you in the cellar. So that was well done and William did seem crazy. Even though I knew he really was a vampire and that he had saved her life.

But the book was a bit, I do not want to say slow going. It just takes 1/3 of the book for them to move on to other th

I really enjoyed this book! I was debating giving it three stars because of a few things that I felt it didn't really address towards the end but I decided I just enjoyed it too much for that.

I have to say that this is a one of a kind vampire book. Usually ya vamp books abandon traditional vampiric ideas and adopt modern views so that it seems more realistic but that was not the case here, and that's a good thing! We have the whole garlic, silver, wooden stake, daylight and holy items stuff that

For anyone who loves a good vampire romance, this book is a must! For me, it felt like a welcome return to the genuine vampire stories, like the original black and white Dracula films. With its dark, brooding atmosphere, and excursions to Highgate Cemetery and the darker parts of north London, the feeling of menace is brilliantly done. As the characters inhabit this shadow world, the reader expects something to jump out at them at any moment and they’re not disappointed. The hero was delicious – ...more

Ms. Stevens writes a story that has been done time and again. Vampire falls in love with mortal then must change them in order to save them from certain death. Though the plot is not original, the writing is spectacular!

Not well written and slow. So slow!! And predictable. And boring. Did not finish at 24%.

This is the story of Elinor who was turned by William, the Elder of London, after a tragic accident that would have ended her life.

The story itself was quite interesting and I enjoyed watching the fledgling vampire settle into her new life. The book tackles aspects of the turning and the weeks that follow that most others gloss over, such as the feeling that pulls a fledgling to sleep during the day. While I liked the story, there was something about the book that just didn’t click for me; I thi

This book is a nice fun read for anyone that is new to the genre or wants a taste of the genre. As an reader that has read the top 75 books in the goodreads urban fantasy/paranormal romance genre, this book fell short for me. In such an overpopulated market, especially in this genre, it is incredibly difficult to write a new book without inadvertently borrowing (whether intentionally or not) from the other great books in this genre. For these reasons, I deeply respect Stevens for givi

I wouldn’t waste your money.
This was an eh read. It was completely predictable, and had such unoriginal characters with almost no character development. Extremely beautiful girl gets turned into a vampire by, guess what, the most powerful vampire around *eye roll*.

The romance was alright, but again predictable, she doesn’t love him then boom one day she realizes he’s super sexy and that she loves him. Another BIG surprise she doesn’t want to kill or harm humans to feed, that’s never

This was a really deep romance which makes your heart excited and you find it hard to put the book down. I read the first 50 pages and couldn't stop thinking about Will and Eleanor. The characters relationship beautifuly progressed and also started off unexpectedly. It was Heart felt and so enjoyable. I really loved the male character 'Will' who had a very different personality and way of speaking, I liked everything about him for a vampire and When books make me feel this way they deserve A 5 s ...more

At first, I thought it would be good because when I actually saw the book, it gave a vibe that it would be good. The title of the book and the cover made me attracted to it, that's why. When I started reading it, at first, I thought it was okay, maybe there would be more as I continue reading the story, that there would be more thrilling about it. But then, when I finished it, I thought what just happened. My expectation of this book had totally crashed. Because one thing I disliked about it was ...more

Great short read!

I thought the plot and characters were well thought out and the theme of each stayed on track. The heroine didn’t take an absurd self loathing like I’ve found in most books as these. I would have preferred a less drawn out beginning instead, maybe a longer more detailed resolution to the problem, but overall it was a fun read. Well written and like previously stated, the characters stayed true to who they were throughout the entirety of the book. If you’re looking for a short an

This review is from my teenage daughter: I am a teenager who likes vampire books and I am just starting to get more into romance reads and so this appealed to me. I found this book really good. I liked Ellie because she was a strong character and not easily lead. The setting was good and the storyline was interesting. I'd recommend it and I'm looking forward to the next in the series. ...more

Not bad bad but in using the plot device of the male and female POV, the tale became disjointed. The female sections were much better than the male. Good bones but not fleshed out enough for me. Unable to recommend to the normal crew at this time.

This was the first book I have read, and finished, in well over a year. Berni's writing is captivating, well-structured and anything but boring.
The world was interesting and introduced us back to the roots of the more traditional vampire that can't be around when daylight strikes and flinches at the touch of silver. Although I would have liked to have lycanthropes expanded on a bit more, I realise that they aren't really the centre of the story.
I loved the book very much, however I am giving i

Twitter is an amazing tool and I enjoy how it can expand authors and bloggers reach so easily. Someone I didn’t know retweeted a review I had done, clicked on the link (cos I’m nosey that way) and discovered a fascinating sounding story I hadn’t read yet by a new to me author and also a Choc Lit author (yes I adore Choc Lit) — happy camper all around. As I’ve mentioned before, paranormal romance is my first love and spin me a vampire tale with twists I haven’t

Do you believe in love after life?

As a Twi-hard and paranormal romance reader I was drawn to this book like a magnet; attracted to the plotline on the subject of immortal love. Having read and reviewed many books before for ‘Choc Lit’ publishers (for instance Christina Courtenay’s sensational YA novel ‘New England Rocks’ as well as other Vampire novels like ‘Falling Apart’ by Jane Lovering and ‘Vampire state of mind’) my e

Wow I absolutely loved this! I had obviously read the synopsis, but had no idea just how much I was going to enjoy it!

I must admit I was a teeny tiny bit skeptical about this as it was back in the world of Vampires and I wasn't sure how it was going to stand out and be different. But I am more than happy to say it was a fantastic Vampire story in its own right and I liked being back in fiction world of Vampires after given it a wide b

Right from the beginning I was hooked! The story of Elinor and Will was wonderful.

Will is absolutely taken by the sight of Elinor that he follows her every move. She is the one he has waited his entire existence for. But not wanting to take her until the time is right; he enjoys their encounters hoping that she will fall in love with him and want to be turned.

Elinor is a free spirited, independent young woman who acts in the theatre and generally loves life. She is happy enough with her humble

I found Dance until Dawn positively seductive! Ellie wakes up in a new gothic world of vampires. She is totally confused and that confusion leads to some of the most humourous one liners. There is some truly wonderful dialogue in the book and that is what carries it to a new level. Most of the early part of the book is just Ellie and Will in one room getting to know each other and those kind of claustrophobic scenes are very well written. Berni Stevens writes in such a way that there are no dist ...more

I found this book somewhat mesmerising. It isn't anything like Twilight, it is a whole new vampire world. The relationship between Ellie and Will made me smile, and the flirtatious banter made me laugh.

The book really does centre around their relationship and doesn't really get into the battle between Will and the the evil Khiara until quite a way into the book. To be honest, I still don't know what the Trials are and the 'battle' itself didn't really seem to grip me in the way it should have. I

I'm having a "vampire" craze and reading as many books as I can. Dance Until Dawn comes high up on my list of favourites as it adds a different twist to the same-old same-old types of vampire literature hitting the bookshelves.
Ms Stevens manages to create characters who are seductive without the reader having to plough through pages of erotica, thank God.
The atmosphere is gothic, Will the main Vampire runs the risk of being over-dominant but a soft and caring side to his character (not unknown

This book was a delightful surprise to read - largely because before I started it, I didn't realise it was a vampire novel! Berni is well known as a graphic designer and artist with a string of stunning book covers to her name. To Artist, she can now add Author to her CV, and deservedly so.

The first 60% of the book is essentially a two-hander; the dialogue between Will and Elie crackles and sparkles. That's a difficult task, and Berni manages it with aplomb. A lively cast of villains make their

I really struggled with this one and honestly, I felt like I wasted my time reading it. It just wasn't for me.
I found it boring, the Trials were confusing - were they ever fully explained? - and Will's POV was exhausting. His parts were literally just saying how beautiful she was all the time.
Will himself was kind of a dick, and his personality switched so easily. I just didn't see the allure of him at all. Elinor was so annoying, just so pathetic and constantly needing to be saved and for him
