The subject of biblical authority is the most critical and sensitive issue facing the evangelical Christian world today. It has a rippling effect on every major theological discussion. Jimmy Draper, president of LifeWay Christian Resources, deals with this issue in a loving and peaceful way, examining modern critical thought and historic positions of the church—providing a workable answer to the issues of biblical authority. Excellent overview of the challenges Baptist were dealing with for the las 20 years (up to 1999-2001) about biblical authoricy, and the risk and advantages to be aware for the future.

I am very biased because I had Dr. Draper for some classes in college. But he speaks to the heart of the matter. If you remove authority from the Bible then you can see how it turns out if you just look around in your culture. This is a fascinating read for any Southern Baptist, but other denominations can learn from it.
