Mari has been writing as far back as she can remember. She spent most of her teen years writing short stories for her friends, it was a hobby for her even though she was published in the school newspaper.

She is married to Randy and they have 1 grown daughter and 2 grown sons. They have 3 dogs and 2 cats too. There is never a dull moment around the house. They live on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Alabama and are blessed to have a home on the river and to have the beach just 20 minutes away.

Over the years she wrote a few short stories in between raising babies but it wasn’t until 2012 she decided she needed to pursue her dream of writing a full novel. It took a while but in January of 2014 her debut novel was self-published. There is always a story in her head and characters talking to her. She enjoys being able to share her characters with others.

As I expected this one is also packed with lots of action. Kat is starting college and Cole is far away. It annoyed me that Kat escaped and guess it was selfish of her, but Cole also screwed up more than one time so I understand her perfectly.

They needed separate time to come back together eventually. Time made them grew up and that's exactly how love works. Love is never perfect. People need to mature up to truly love someone else. I guess those two learnt a lot from their experience together and based on it they can create a wonderful relationship that will turn into a great family one day.

I think it's nice continuation of previous books, I enjoyed first one more but this one is only a little bit worser in my opinion. ;D

Cole and Kat are back and better than ever!!! This second installment rocked. You get all the drama, romance, sexy times...Yea buddy!!! Mystery with great story, great characters and great secondary characters. You will love all the characters, hate Sal Martin and his goons. Kat is a kick ass, take names kinda girl and Cole is a strong but loving to Kat and his family, but deadly to those that cross him or threaten his family. This is the second book and the stories are continued, so you have to read in order. The third book sadly isn't out yet but is due to be released this year sometime... :(

This is the second book in the Knight series. I do recommend that you read the first book before you read this one. Kat was told by Luke that she needed to call Bruce. When she called him she got the worse news. Her brother Drew has been shot. Luke decided to go with her back to Belmont. When she arrived at the hospital she asked Bruce what happened. She hasn't seen Cole in five years, she was planning to come back to Belmont after she graduated from college but then she got a text from Cole, that hurt her.
Kat has a secret, she joined a PBT Sorority. She made new friends at UCLA even though he didn't want any, she is a Knight. Rocco was sent by Bruce to keep Kat safe. He cares a lot about Kat and the Knight family, know's Kat's secret. Ali is Kat's friend from UCLA, Fashion Major. Liam's girlfriend and she also joined PBT Sorority the same sorority that her mom joined, Kat's friend. Liam is Kat's friend and Luke's twin brother and Ali's boyfriend. Luke is Kat's friend, Liam's twin brother, he now's Kat's secrets.Has been there the whole time to pick up the pieces. Drew is Kat's brother, he was shot and has a girlfriend. Gracie is Drew's girlfriend, dropped out of college to help raise her siblings after her father died. Seth is 9 know and he still loves Kat. Cole, Juliana and Justin's youngest brother. Cole went downhill after Kat left. Seth thinks that it's Cole's fault that Kat left. He does anything that he can to forget about Kat. Bruce tells Cole that he has to fix things with Kat. He wants her to stay in Belmont. He know's Kat's secret.
This book is amazing continuation of the first book. Mari doesn't disappoint with this book. It's very well written and the characters are very well developed. I couldn't help but feel connected to the characters. I look forward to reading more books by Mari Brown

This is book two in the series. Book one is a must read as this is a continuation of Kat and Coles story.

Five years after leaving Kat is back from college after hearing her brother was shot. We read of what Kat and Cole has been dealing with since she left. I really loved these two characters. I was so hoping they'd have a happy ever after. You need to click to find out.

Looking forward to reading more from this author.

So I wasn't a huge fan of Kat in On the Edge, but the rest of the story worked and evened the playing field to prepare me for Over the Edge. I will admit, Kat redeemed herself somewhat this second time around, until she picked the worst word in the world to call Cole. More on that later. Cole however took Kat's spot as the irritating one. Sheesh, I can't win with these characters.

Book two picks up five years later, with Kat finishing things up at UCLA and Cole being a complete d-bag. Sure she knew he was going to be pissed that she left, but what he did to seal the deal ruined anything they could have had in her mind. Kat is friends with Ali and her boyfriend Liam as well as his brother Luke. Rocco went to California with Kat for protection since that whole Sal Martin thing isn't over by far. Going to classes and pretending she's happy is working for Kat at the moment, however she still misses Cole. Kat gets a call that her brother Drew has been shot, heads back home to Belmont and us readers are in for a sexy, bumpy ride ahead.

Annoying Kat appears again at the hospital by totally bossing everybody around and putting herself in charge. Bruce, Cole's dad is there, but yet again seems to cower when Kat is in the room. Still not too sure about this dynamic, however I do love the Bruce character. Kat and Cole's dad have kept in touch and he keeps a very big secret of hers from his son, which made me like him even more. He was a mob boss one second and a concerned dad the next. Crazy, but it worked for him.

So now we are figuring out the Cole and Kat thing while also worrying about Sal Martin and his next move. Even though Cole went off of the deep end when Kat left AND he calls her the b-word constantly (one of my pet peeves) I was rooting for them to get back together. That kind of trouble deserves each other.

"Because I only exist without you. When I am with you, I am alive." ~ Cole

Aw so sweet, not. Because Cole really went off the deep end the five years she was gone, it's going to take a lot to get Kat back where he wants her. In his house and in his bed. Permanently. They go through quite the back and forth with this relationship, all while trying to keep the Knight family together and safe. Things are going good, the family is putting plan together, Cole and Kat work things out and then it happens. Kat chooses the one word I cannot stand in the bedroom no matter how sexy the scene is...Daddy. Ick. Another pet peeve. To me, this is like dumping a bucket of ice water on a hot scene and I skimmed those pages. Not interested.

The book is told from Cole and Kat's points of view, while Julia gets a say at the end. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this series so far. I love the storyline and some members of the family, while I hate the main characters at certain points of the book. The story isn't over yet and I'll be back for more.

I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review and honestly, it was awesome!

Mari Brown sucked me in again! I am loosing sleep over these books by trying to read them all in a day! Five years have passed since the last book. Kat is still in California and has never returned home. She has maintained contact with her brother, Drew, Bruce Knight and his family, except Cole. It starts out with devastating news which forces Kat to return home. Leaving right away with her friend (sometimes with benefits) Luke from California to the hospital.

Cole is not happy to see Kat, especially when his first view of her is being held intimately by Luke in the hospital waiting room. He can't seem to stop from his verbal attack on her even though inside he is longing to be with her.

Sal has gotten out of prison and is once again threatening the Knight family and Kat specifically because he blames her for his having gone to prison for the kidnapping of two of the Knight children. He will stop at nothing to get to her. From using spies within the Knight family's people to sending in outsiders to cause trouble.

This is a must read for anyone who likes the darker side of life and romance. These books are not all filled with sunshine and roses but are instead filled with danger, loyalty, fierce protectiveness and unconditional love.

This book picks up 5 years after Kat left Cole. She's still in California and hasn't spoken to Cole since the night she snuck out of his bed. The author does offer some of the important parts of the 5 year gap via flashback. We find out that Kat dealt with more than just the loss of Cole during her time gone and we see how Cole has dealt with her being gone.
Now, Kat is heading back to Belmont because her brother has been shot. Things are tense, to say the least, between her and Cole.
While, I enjoy these stories, I'm not really enthused by the characters and their relationships. I mean, you have a mob boss that took in this teenager for a few months and then helped her through college. But, in only 6 months, this man who has to be careful who he trusts and who he lets in to his inner circle, just automatically trusts this teenage girl and considers her a daughter? Lets her into his business? To me, that (among other aspects of the story) was a little farfetched. However, I can overlook those and say that I do like this series. The book is well written and not unnecessarily drawn out. It had no problem keeping my attention.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, murder, betrayal, secrets, abuse, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
On the Edge (Knight #1)

This is more Kat and Cole’s story. When Kat went away Cole sent her a text that made sure she would stay away. While she went to school and made friends he turned into a man-whore. Now after her brother is hurt she is back in town. When she finds out her brother was shot when protecting Cole she goes a little crazy. Cole has decided that he wants Kat back so he will have to prove that she is the only woman he wants. He has to prove his love also. She has to reveal her secrets. They have to deal with a crazy coming after them. Will they be able to fight the enemy and still be able to build a relationship? Or is it over for them?

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

Over The Edge is the second book in the Knight series and it picks up five years after the end of the last book. It isn't a standalone, I definitely recommend reading On The Edge first so that you can get the most out of this book. This is a great continuation of Kat and Cole's story and is full of suspense and excitement.

Five years after leaving Cole and the town of Belmont to attend college, Kat has to return. Cole and Kat are forced to put differences aside to tackle a common enemy that is a threat to them both. There are plenty of fireworks and steamy scenes in this book that kept me gripped. I really like the Knight family, they are a fascinating bunch of people. This book really does have a fantastic cast of supporting characters that make the story come alive.

Overall I enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to the next one in the Knight series. Four stars.

I was all over the place with this book in the series. I loved Kat, I was sick of her, I shuck my head, I laughed, I gasped, man I just don't know what to say about her. Thought going to UCLA would help tame the beast some what but I don't know. The dynamics of the family is off the chart and definitely worth some good laughs. Luke is yummy. Julie is hanging tough. Justin is. . . well Justin. And Cole well he does a lot of things and learns some things about himself. The question is will it be enough to bring Kat and him back together or will the secrets keep them apart.

Although there is a lot of recap, there is also a lot clarified. The writing is sound and while there is plenty of action it ends with a good belly laugh. Things are getting deep and I anxiously await the next book to see more resolved.

I was so excited to continue Kat and Cole's story. While we were left with Kat leaving there were so many ways the story could have gone and Mari Brown did a great job deciding which was to go. I loved the lapse in time where everyone has grown up a bit and lived through good and bad experience. Yet has Kat or Cole really ever moved on? More drama, twists, turn, and lots of fights. Once again I must say Seth stole some more of my heart that little cutie pie! Luke comes with Kat back to Belmont and stirs it up a bit for a little extra excitement. Also Drew has a girl he is serious with! Lots has changed and only this story will tell if everyone gets a happily ever after or are some left heartbroken!? Great book! I look forward to more from Mari Brown!

I met Mari Brown when I read On the Edge. Her writing is well-developed and the story is thought out. There are twists and turns that make you wonder just how evil minded Mari is going to get.

In On the Edge Kat met Cole and became “his.” Love at first sight has nothing on these two.

Cole is heir to the mafia type family the Knights. Kat is running from her abusive mother and calls her brother this started the series.

It’s college now and Kat is in Cali trying to forget Cole. He didn’t want her to go so they fought. But the universe doesn’t leave things alone. Things heat up many times and make this well worth reading just to see what happens.

Given a copy for an honest review. Over The Edge has fast forward five years in the life of Kat and Cole from On The Edge. What happens when these two come together after five years? The story has hot scenes, heartbreak, mystery and secrets. Mari Brown has set you up for a bumpy ride. Cole is a complete alpha. Kat is a hot tempered strong woman. They will both do what is necessary to protect the family. What does the future hold for the characters of this book? There is deception, mystery and suspense throughout this ride. What characters do you think could be the traitor? Can Kat and Cole's love survive another bumpy ride or will they go on rides alone?

Mari Brown has done it again with another amazing story. There are so many twists and turns in this book as well as emotions. I couldn't put it down.

Kat hasnt been home in 5 years since she left for college. She left the man she was in love with Cole. But after her brother gets shot she returns and the feelings between her and Cole havent gone anywhere. They fight tooth and nail against the attraction and love they have for one another.

Will they be able to get their happy ever after or will Cole's past push Kat away for good?

This is a MUST read!!

I loved the first book, so it is no surprise at all that I am totally and completely wrapped up in this one. I love Cole and Kat as well as the rest of the characters. Kat is just a badass girl! I love it! Luke and Julie is an interesting match-up that I hope the author will consider giving us more of. At the end of this book it says that book 3 of the Knight series, Beyond the Edge will be coming this year. I sure hope so because I can’t wait to read it! I am looking forward to reading much more of this author’s work!!

This is the second in the series and you must read the first one before this one. This starts where the first one left off. It brings even more suspense. But it was a book that again gripped you from the beginning and you have to read to the end. The only issue i had with this book is the way that the two main characters came back together really with no fight. But it was still an enjoyable book to read.

There may or may not be spoilers ahead. I absolutely hated the first half of this book! Too much descriptive sex with OW/OM! I was so damn frustrated. How do you go from Insta-love in the first book to only half of this book with them together? I found my self roughly skimming the first half. However, after they were reunited I really enjoyed it. At times it was funny, sweet, sexy, and tense. I loved the secondary characters!!

Kept me on the edge of my seat.

Over the Edge is a great balance of sexy, with suspense, and some humor. Kat and Cole have been through a lot and it just keeps rolling in. Kat is one tough sassy woman but Cole's shear alpha dominance is her match. Love all the supporting characters. Great read.
