Julie Valentine’s soul searching turned out to be a bad case of the author blues. Having just broken up with her boyfriend, she goes to a casino in the hopes of relaxing and getting her mind straight, while rekindling her passion for books, but not even a nice glass of wine seems to work. Writing steamy romances requires more than just leisure time. When she meets the billionaire Dominic Fury, a handsome blue-eyed kind ladies’ man, his charms win her over. Maybe spending a night with him will give her plenty of inspiration. It turns out Dominic has a seductive request for her, one she cannot refuse.

Not a bad quickie...I'd probably buy the next book if it wasn't 2.99 + and less than 100 pages. It's just my thing...if a short story/serial series can't get me absolutely hooked before the end of the first book, then odds are I probably won't purchase book two or three unless they're less than $2.00.
Judge all you want, but it's my new moto since everyone and their mom are writing these serial series.
This is a very short story that the author calls a novella. This story revolves around a young woman that is a struggling writer. She has broken up with her boyfriend a few months ago and has come to an impasse in her writing of romance novels. One day she goes downstairs in the casino where she is staying to blow some money on the slot machines and comes across what we would call "her new muse". She is intrigued not to mention HAWT for H! Without knowledge to h, H puts in an ad in the local paper for an assistant. h applies for the position and it is for the position of a submissive for $15,000 an event. She has to pass the test and then she goes and sees him after she passes the test. Your lead to believe that she is a little naïve but in other parts she knows what is going on when it comes to being a submissive. The story is a short story but it is a fast reading story. I would give it a three stars because it it's a nice little read but it didn't keep me coming back for more and it was not spectacular characterizations although the plot was an intriguing idea the author did not really develop the story enough for us to want to come back for more.

**I received an ARC copy for my review** Great short BDSM story to introduce the new Billionaire’s Bet from Clarissa. If you are a FSOG fan you will love this story but please make the next one longer.
It’s a great story with a lot of hot scenes, it’s easy written and through the story you have also funny parts.
After a breakup with her boyfriend JulieValentine goes to a casino in the hope to relax and get her mind back on her passion to write steamy romances. When nothing goes by plan she goes down to the casino to have a glass of wine.
When entering the elevator she meets the billionaire Dominic Fury, a handsome blue-eyed kind ladies’ man. After a couple of drinks with him she wants to spend a night with him, this will give her plenty of inspiration. The only thing she find after this drunk night was a sexy pink toy at her nightstand.
But Dominic has other plans for her he wants her to be his sub, will she refuse his seductive request of being his or will she commit to something more with him.
Quick read, enjoyed the story. Would have liked more felt a little rushed, but overall I liked it!
Julie is a young writer , with writers block , but how can you write steamy sex scenes when your not having any; needing to get out she heads to a casino to try and have some fun ; which is where she firsts meets Dominic, very sexy, tall and self assured, Dominic. Julie's chance encounter eventually leads to drinks much later and Dominic taking a very tipsy Julie to her room and to spite julies advances she is left alone.
Julie gets her second chance with Dominicwhen she answers an add for a assistant from the morning paper ofind the interviewer is Dominic and the position is that of his submissive! The story moves quickly from tht point with hot steamy sex scenes that left me wanting more!
I was given this copy of the book by the lovely author in exchange for an honest review, so here it is..
3 stars!!
I felt it was a good start. I liked the way the hero approached her with that offer!! I thought it was a bit weird how he actually went into her room and left her that "device".. it scared me a bit actually.
I was more interested in him than her!! I thought she'd have more substance in her that that.. I mean, except for a few awkward moments, I thought this was a nice beginning..
The steamy factor was off the charts.. so, I'll be looking forward to see where this is going between these two.. especially that I sense the dark past of Dominic (great name by the way).
Thanks again for the author for the opportunity and looking forward for more ;)
*Thank you Clarissa Wild for giving me a free copy in exchange for a review*
I loved the start of the story - Julie is a writer in a slump, just got out of relationship and is staying in a hotel/casino to work on her writing. One night on her way down to the casino for a drink, she meets a handsome man on the elevator. She runs into him throughout the evening, and is definitely interested.
Dominic turns out to be someone Julie did not expect. After this, the story moved a little too fast for me. I wished there was more to them getting to know each other without moving to the playroom so quickly. I would read the next installment just to see where the relationship/story goes.
I would like to thank Clarissa Wild for giving me a free copy in exchange for a review.
This a short novella to introduce a new series. If you are a fan of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy then you will love this story. Julie Valentine meets Dominic Fury at his casino and agrees to be his submissive. It really left me wanting more and would love to read the next book in the series.
This story is about a writer who is in a slump. When Julie repeatedly sees the same hot hunk of a man she decides to go after him. What she find with Dominic though is not what she expected, but it could be a very good thing.
This reads more like an introduction to the series and leaves you ready to see more of how the story plays out.
Julie Valentine is a steamy romance writer who is having writers block. She decides to go to the bar of the casino/hotel she is staying @ only to run in to Dominic Fury a real hunk of a ladies man. He introduces a new world to her and she loves it. This is a volcanic of a book. It erupts in to a hot lava flow of sexiness!!
When Julie gets writer's block, she stumbles across an intriguing offer from a sexy CEO of a casino. Will she take the new position as Dominic's submissive? Will one night be enough? Or will she be willing to do anything to be with Dominic? A fast-paced, steamy read. I look forward to reading more steamy romance from Clarissa Wild.
I thought the beginning was cute but it went really fast story line wise. I don't get why she would just sign up to do that when she could just write her book to get money. She basically signs a contract with no knowledge of anything.
I wanted to love this book, as I've heard so much positive things about Clarissa Wild and her writing that I figured this would be a good place to start. Unfortunately, the story felt super rushed and gave me zero time to connect with Julie or Dominic to care about them getting together. The playroom scene was alright, but even that was a let-down for me (some spanking and a little bondage and then done), which was disappointing knowing this was a BDSM story. Also, it is definitely more of a novella, so right when it would have started getting good, it was over.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I found this very short, which almost gave it a rushed feeling. Loved the characters but it would have been nice to have fleshed them out a bit more, and for a first time submissive, the Dom seemed to push her very quickly. However, all said, I did enjoy it and will more than likely buy the next book in the series to see how their story continues.
- I hated it because it was literally a scene from Fifty Shades or Grey and had no originality. I know it’s a novella so it would be short but there’s barely anything of value to read. The characters had zero chemistry and it felt more forced. The way sex was described was as of it was prostitution.
Well colour me shocked, that will teach me to read a book without looking at the blurb. Here was me all set for a vanilla billonaire short story and dang if the spice and kink weren't served up on a platter sizzling. I'm impressed at how much was covered or uncovered in this case in such a short span of time. Wild definitely knows how to use her words well.
Sensually erotic romance which was way too short. Dominic's alpha male personality takes over as he shows Julie what if means to be his submissive. A delightful sexy story, too bad it's a cliffhanger.
Well, that was abrupt and to the point to say the least! Doesn't waste any time or pages to get from A to B to HEA! But how does he not know how to find another sub?!?!?
I wanted BDSM smut and I fucking got it BUT OML WAS THIS GOOD And it’s so short too because I wanted a quickie Anyways I’m gonna go read the next one now
Giggly sexy. That is my first thought when I finished reading The Billionaire's Bet: A Seductive Deal. I like when I can read a book that has me giggling and sighing. The premises of a romance author having a dry spell with her sex life as well as her writing, hooking up with a Dom whose name is Dom…I find that very comical. I’m not sure if that was the author’s intent but that is what I walked away with.
Enough about that, on with my assessment of characters and story. Book one of the series introduces us to Julie and Dominic. Julie is an interesting character. At times, I feel she is a mature adult but then I get glimpses of her youth. Still I think her character is sweet and somewhat flaky. Dominic seems like a fun guy. I get the sense there is more to his personality than what we are seeing but for now I’m enjoying his playfulness. Their hook up was fairly quick but, since this is a novella, it’s to be expected. The sex was yummy and the BDSM not too overwhelming. I got to hand it to author Clarissa Wild. She did a good job by not having Julie be all worldly and experienced, especially since she is a novice to the whole D/s and BDSM world. Her innocence and lack of experience seems very genuine.
I was giving the box set of The Billionaire's Bet by the author to review. I feel in all fairness that each book deserves to be reviewed as well. As the beginning book to the series, I find that The Billionaire's Bet: A Seductive Deal was a good introduction. I look forward to the next book.
I received this book from the author for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.
I was given the opportunity to read/review this box set by the author:
I found these books very enticing to read, they were un put down-able, and for me that is a good sign, I will enjoy the series.
They contained quite a lot of BDSM and for me they were very similar to the ''Fifty Shades of Grey Series'', so if that is your thing you will enjoy these.
We meet Julie and Dominic, Julie is an author wanna be who strives to achieve but unfortunately does not make much progress, then she is given this opportunity to become Dominic's sub and she latches on with full force and finds that her writing streak has benefited for the extra curriculum she is learning, and her books take shape and become complete, all anonymous of course.
Dominic has inherited a hotel/casino from his father and it is any but a nightmare, he puts up a big front that he is very well to do and very successful but behind the scenes there is a lot going on that only those in know hear about.
We get to see their relationship grow until they form a bond that no one can break and once that happens and the public find out about their relationship, events that shape that end up making a drama for both of them and only their love for one another will keep them strong throughout.
There are not really any other characters in these book to speak of apart from the main two, people come and go but the sole focus is on them.
All books are very short reads, 1 hour tops for each.
I have read the 50 Shades Of Grey trilogy and this one is reminiscent of this with the subject matter involved. I tried not to compare the two because it is obvious one goes more in depth then the other so it would not be fair. The story is told in first person and at times came across as a bit childish. Dominic Fury is a powerful man who owns a casino and places an ad in the paper for a job. The problem was at times when he spoke he came across as weak to me. He displayed moments of being in control but other times the phrasing of his sentences just didn't carry the same strength and confidence.
Julie is a writer who is running low on cash. She writes erotic stories and is having writers block. This leads us to her applying for the job. There are women scurrying off in tears but she applies for the job and it felt impersonal to me. I realize the bargain and lifestyle is such that you will not find traditional connections and that is where the low rating comes in. The substance is shallow for me connected with it being a short the author didn't have the time to add in the little descriptions I like to read. Any woman would have filled the bill. There was nothing special about her in his reactions. Overall it gave it a feeling of just dirty sex complete with a big pink...toy.
I'm not saying it's awful just not for me. If you enjoy BDSM and a fast paced read than I think you'd probably like it. I like to read erotica when I'm in the mood but for me it just didn't work.
★★★ The Billionaire's Bet: A Seductive Deal by Clarissa Wild
I was given this R2R in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is a BDSM erotica short coming in around 60 pages.
This was odd, but ok. The setup was a bit strange. While a Dom normally takes care of the sub, he hires her as a personal assistant to satisfy his sexual desires. Seems more like he wants a high paid hooker, with sub tendencies. He may have the money, the dungeon, and all the toys, but he seems like a very inexperienced Dom.
I think Julie should seek profession guidance. Really, how is she ok with interview, a toy test, sign a contract, and ran through a spank bank all in 12 hrs, when she knows nothing about BDSM. A D/s relationship is all based on trust. Where is she getting the trust to be pulled into a scene such as this, with no experience, after meeting the guy 24 hrs prior?
Trust building and gradually working her into this would have made the book better. As it is, it's not very believable. However this is the first of this series, so as their relationship grows it will be easier to imagine.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I thought this started off promising, with Julie trying to figure out a way to get her creative writing juices fired up to finish her novel. Even the way she met Dominic was sorta cute. But then it veered into an odd territory when J woke up the morning after getting smashed drunk to find a sex toy on the nightstand. Not sure why she wasn't skeeved out by that discovery, she was more worried about letting room service in? And the ad in paper was just strange, but yet she decides to check it out?
Even with accepting the job proposal, it's still odd that J decided to trust D after knowing him for all of day. And the introduction he gave her into the D/s world, saying that he wouldn't go all out her first time, still creeped me out since what he did seemed like something that should have happened maybe 2-3 sessions into their contract?
And really, she's ready to commit to something more with him after 24 hours? But, I'll probably read the next novella in the series just to see what happens.
This was a good book, I like the premise of the book. Julie is okay, nothing really stands out at me that sets her apart from any other heroine I read about. I think she gets too close too quickly but we will see how that works out in the next books out. Dominic is sexy and very dominant which I love but who holds interviews the way he does through the regular local paper, wow really??? I like the "test" but really 15,000 every week??? the sex is hot and I do like how he tries to make her comfortable most of the time and how he doesn't push everything on her right away. I don't quite understand the final agreement they came to in the end but I am afraid that he is so controlling that she won't want to stick around, and I worry that she is going to fall for him right away, we will see lol
I didn't particularly enjoy this one. I'm not sure if it is because each book in the series is less than 100 pages but there was a huge disconnect between me and this story. The plot idea itself was good but rushed and underdeveloped. I like character development and getting a chance to love, like or hate a character. I felt absolutely nothing for these characters. Neither good nor bad.
Now I'm stuck reading the next 3 books because I made a vow to never quit when I start a series. I refuse to quit now!
