Through 25 whimsical projects, from an Explorer's Satchel to a Pirate Play Tent, get all the know-how you need to create a world that captures the freedom of childhood, timeless fun, and adventure—templates and patterns included. Belle is a little girl with a brown bob, the odd scratch on her knee, and an insatiable curiosity about the natural world, while her pet rabbit, Boo, a flopsy brown bunny, is her faithful friend and confidant. Along with their many friends, Belle and Boo inhabit a sweetly nostalgic world where they spend their days playing in a pirate tree house, cloud-spotting from hot-air balloons, or riding a fairground carousel. The Belle and Boo Book of Crafts offers 25 one-of-a-kind projects we can create to bring more magic and make-believe into our lives. Sewing projects include a cuddly toy rabbit, a clothesline play tent, and even an explorer's satchel. Make a robust beanbag, a tooth fairy pillow for your child's room, or a pull-along stuffed elephant with a sweet ribbon bow. Also included are knitting, embroidery, and papercraft projects to decorate your home and brighten your day.
Wow!!! Another stunning publication from Roost Books. I love the vintage theme throughout this book. The projects are absolutely beautiful. I wish I possessed the skills, time, and patience required to create these crafts. They would be precious gifts, sure to be cherished and passed down from generation to generation.
omg no Not only are most of these difficult, but most of the others are pretty lame. Worse, there's no diversity - all the children are white, able-bodied, clearly gendered m or f. Even worse, there's a pirate theme (when oh when can we be over that? Pirates are not nice ppl.) Even worse, there's a feathered headdress, pictured with a little cowboy and a little generic "Indian" with a generic tepee.
I did not read every word, but I did examine every page.
Sorry it has taken so long to review this. I received my copy of "The Belle and Boo Book of Crafts: 25 Enchanting Projects to Make for Children" from a Goodreads Giveaway. I was so impressed with the project for making Boo the bunny, that I was going to make him and then do the review. But, alas I have realized I just don't have the time now (other projects like painting the house are keeping me too busy).
I was not aware of Belle & Boo before I got this book. They are the sweetest little pair, a girl and her softie bunny. Artist Mandy Sutcliffe's pictures capture the charm of early childhood. This is a sturdy paperback with flaps on the cover and beautiful and helpful photos and illustrations along with patterns and detailed instructions. Most of the projects would be best suited for the 3-8 year old set. Although most could be easily adapted for older or younger folks. For instance when I do finally get around to making Boo the bunny, I will make one for a child and one for me!
If you like to sew, knit or embroider I'm sure you will find something you must make, but there are also other things to make from paper and some friendship bracelets and popsicle soaps. All of the projects could be appropriate for a boy or a girl. I can't wait to get started!
Beautiful book with classic, tactile crafts to make for children to ensure a magical childhood. I want to make everything! Clear step by step instructions too. Awesome!!
The crafts are adorable and there are templates in the back of the book however these are fully think ahead type crafts. Including sewing, and other more involved crafts.
