Head into the forest with one studly guy and a psycho girl in this twisted fairy tale novella with a chance of zombie.

Hans and his contentious fiancé, Liesel, are just two warm bodies who wander too far into a forest that was once the site of a zombie infestation. When they stumble upon a romantic cottage, Hans is completely unaware that the woman who will capture his hear

It's not because I love Nicki.
It's not because this story was dedicated to me. (Yes, I might be bragging here, suck it).
It's not because I might be biased. I'm not.
It's because this story was freaking AWESESAUCE!!

These zombies are the shit!! I like different, I've always said that, and Nicki did not disappoint!!

I love it when I get to read something that keeps me interested and this did it, I read it between breaks at work and got so many funny looks because of my reactions, I'm one of those

I really don't enjoy zombie novels, but as I needed one for a challenge, I decided to give this one a try. It wasn't that good. It tried way too hard to be too many things! It was supposed to be a fairy tale retelling, and it had some of those elements, but it seemed too mashed up to be actually like that story! It tried too hard to be a romance, as the romance scenes felt forced, and the sexual aspect felt too forced into the erotic zone. It was entertaining enough, hence the 2 star rating, but ...more

This is a retold fairy tale about Hansel and Gretel for adults (not children), and it's unlike anything you've read with zombies tied into the story we all know.

Hans wants to save his father's business, so he has to "marry" a woman for her money, but his fiance is not exactly a catch and gets them lost in the woods. After a long night, they come across a house where a lonely, senile woman lives. Hans soon finds himself stuck in a cage. For days, he tries to get out with no success. He manages t

This is not your grannies Hansel and Gretel. It's not a mushy ya/teen romance either. Hans & Greta is a funny and sarcastic ride, with a few twists that I didn't see coming. There is also a lot of nods to other fairy tales throughout. It was extremely amusing to see how the author worked them in. Lastly there are zombies! Hellos, every good book needs a zombie or two! These zombies weren't your everyday comp, moan, comp zombies, but then again Hans & Gretel isn't your traditional fairy tale, so by ...more

Hans and Greta watch out - the zombies are here! Okay, usually I'm not a zombie fan, but this isn't a story about walking dead eating brains at every turn either. The author does a wonderful job taking a well-known fairytale and twisting it into an entirely different story.
Hans is handsome and well-built and drool-worthy. And Greta? Well, that's a surprise all for itself.

There's enough in this story to make it familiar, but guesses at what is really going on turn up empty handed. The writing is

I very much enjoyed this quick read. From the first page it is snappy with quick witted dialogue and sharp characterizations. The description is vivid without bogging the reader down in every tiny detail.

The fairytale setting had a modern feel to it, think Once Upon a Time and you'll know what I mean. Nicki very cleverly weaves in titbits from other stories flawlessly. Going in, I was sure I would know how this would play out since I know the tale. I was wrong and the author keeps the reader gues

Oh, this was too fun! Great short read that I devoured in one sitting. I love mash-ups and this one is zombie meets several fairy tales. Added to the fun of a romantic romp with a spooky-fabulous twist, was trying to figure out which fairy tales were weaving their way effortlessly into the plot. I dare you not to smile. Fun characters, fun story, fun read!

Hahaha. I finished this funny little story in one day. I loved the play on fairy tale tropes, and though most of it was expected, the zombie introduction had me snickering. This book is great for anyone who enjoys poking fun at tropes (and I am certainly one of those people).

mixes my love for a really good fairy tale with romance and .... zombies.

Dark it is with a good mix of paranormal. I'm just glad I didn't have to worry about zombie sex. Now that I'm not sure I would have been able to read.

Nice read!

For those who love twisted fairy tales this is a must read. It has a little bit of everything! Zombies are definitely a nice touch to redefine the Hansel and Gretel we all grew up with. An easy read and flowed well. Very happy with this book and the author!

Sadly this book was just ok. It wasn't really a zombie book or a fairy tale. It just took little bit's here and there to make a short story that I knew the ending to pretty much from the start. If you are looking for real Zombie Fairy Tales I would check out Kevin Richey's, now they are BLOODY good fun ;) ...more

I really enjoyed this story. Zombies and a new twist to a fairy tale? What's not to love! The only reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the ending was rather abrupt. Do look forward to more stories by this author, and I do definitely recommend this story to all! ...more

Nicki Elson writes spicy fiction with a sweet and dreamy center. She does other stuff, obsess over reality TV (and she's not ashamed to admit it).

Writing fiction wasn't something Nicki set out to do; it just sort of happened when she realized writing reports was by far her favorite part of her investment consulting position. She traded stock allocation and diversification for story arcs
