A very easy 5 stars.

This was even better than the first.

This book is slightly different from the first, but I'm not altogether sure how. It's bloody excellent though.

As part of a series, it works great. There is a summary of the previous book but it isn't glaringly obvious and obtrusive. It's subtle and fits really well into the story as it's narrated. As such, this would also work well as a standalone. But I'd suggest reading the first book too, because it is all kinds of wonderful.

How much of my copy have I highlighted for awesomeness? About 90%. The only reason the whole thing isn't highlighted is it would have made my eyes go all funny.

Sapphire is one of my favourite characters. She gets herself into such situations... And she is so bloody strong. Physically and mentally, she kicks ass and kicks it well.

Silencing Sapphire is more brutal and shocking than the first and still has that refreshing lack of graphic sex which makes it really stand out as excellent within the New Adult genre. The pacing is just as subtle and gripping as the first, with the same jaw-dropping WHAT?! ending.

I received a copy of this for free via NetGalley for review purposes.

Loved this book! After reading Stalking Sapphire earlier on this year, I fell in love with this series, and was really excited for the sequel! Super happy I wasn't disappointed, I may even go as far as to say this one was better than the first!

Stalking Sapphire was an amazing debut, and don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed it, but something about its sequel was so much more fleshed out, fluid and a major page turner!

I have an obsession with these sort of NA thrillers- with kickass heroines that are their own knight in shining armour. But a little romance never hurts, either ;) There needs to be more books like this, and with an ending like this, Thompson better get cracking on the next novel!

I don't want to say too much without revealing too much about either of the two in the series, but I think you understand that it's amazing, and just read it. You won't be disappointed! It's got the perfect combo of action, suspense, romance and all things good.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Diversion for providing me with this review copy, make sure to put it on you to-read list ASAP!

I read the first book in this series and loved it, so I was excited to see that the second book was available. I have to say, I think this one is even better than the first.

Our lovely heroine is back again and her tough persona and great attitude once more make this a truly delightful book to read. The criminal romance is a difficult genre in my opinion, where it is often hard to find a good balance. Mia Thompson has managed this well and made it so much fun.

One thing that stands out about these novels for me is that the heroine never feels like she is contrived and pushed to be something other than what she is. Her actions and thoughts seem very natural and after a while you begin to feel like you know her personally and as a friend.

The romance is well done and steamy without being disgusting and it is not the sole source of action in the book. There are multiple story lines going on in this book that all manage to tie in to the major events by the end.

I really enjoyed reading this and encourage others to check out this series. it is worth the time to read.

This review is based on a digital ARC from the publisher and provided by Netgalley.

If you like mystery, humour and maybe a little romance too - then this new adult book is for you. I still think it fits in the contemporary/chick lit category too.

Right, I have read both this book and book 1 (Stalking Sapphire) in the past 2 days. So both books are pretty fresh in my mind. What I liked about the books is that there's not really a great time lapse, a few months is all. I also liked how the author Mia Thompson recapped in Silencing Sapphire without going over it too much, there's nothing worst than an author doing that and going over what happened in the previous book page after page. IF you don't remember the book that well, re-read it! Still, Mia Thompson gave me just the right amount of detail and no more.

Both stories in the Sapphire Dubois Mysteries have good paced, fast action style writing. So, you aren't left waiting around for something to happen. The story throughout is told mainly through Sapphire and Aston's point of views, although at times its told from other characters. The extra insight works well with the story and gives you that more depth to it.

I can't really criticise this story at all. I love Sapphire as a character. She is funny and extremely intelligent. At times her naivety shows through and you realise that she is only 23. Aston's warmed to me more in this book, but only because he's grown - I wanted to throttle him in the last book!

More things come to light in this book which will no doubt take us into book 3 and maybe 4 (I don't know how many books there will be in this series). What I do know is Mia Thompson the author has a fan in me and I will definitely be looking forward to more installments in the Sapphire Dubois mysteries!

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars, it almost got a 5!

This is a thriller mystery. The characters are not to deep except for Sapphire. I found myself rooting for Sapphire. Also wondered why the cops were putting so much effort in catching the serial catcher over stopping serial killers themselves.
There are a lot of swear words and gritty scenes.
Sapphire is a rich social lite who is engaged to a even richer guy who she does not like let alone want to marry. For years she has spent most of her time stopping serial killers. She likes detective Aston Ridder.

Detective Aston Ridder's main goal is to catch the serial catcher. He does not realize the woman he can't forget is actually the person he seeks.

This is book two of the series. I have not read the first one. The story does not end with this book. I want to read the next book now and not wait for it.

Sapphire goes undercover to become what the serial killer wants and right now he is hunting strippers in one club. So Sapphire while getting ready to walk down the isle is being the worst stripper in the club.

The plot has a few different story lines in it. Which make it interesting and when you think it is settled more stuff happens.

I was given this ebook to read for purpose of giving a honest review of it by Netgalley.

Mia Thompson accomplishes what authors seldom do in a sequel. She keeps us interested in her characters and she manages to give us another well-plotted story! I suppose the book could stand alone, but don't deny yourself the opportunity to read them in order, as it makes the experience much more fun. Beverly Hills Heiress moonlighting as a serial killer hunter is a really great premise, and Ms. Thompson has managed to keep Sapphire from being a one-trick-pony. The characters are interesting, dynamic, fully developed, and have grown from book to book. The pacing was a bit uneven, this one was a bit of a slow starter, but the mystery is well-plotted and the ending quite satisfying though a bit of a cliff-hanger. I look froward to more in the series.

Silencing Sapphire is Mia Thompson's sequel to her first book Stalking Sapphire. Once again it was a wonderful criminal romance thriller!

Just as in first book, once again Sapphire is hunting another serial killer, and she herself is also a prey. Aston is still hunting for Serial Catcher but Sapphire has other "fans" as well. So the story is filled with twists and turns and sizzling romantic moments and funny moments with Hollywood celebrities :).

All in all, Sapphire is James Bond/Bruse Wayne in short skirt and Aston is her Loise Lane :D.

Just a very good book!!!!

This book is funny. Very funny. Made me laugh throughout. It's also a quick, easy read. There's also a mystery involved, a serial killed mystery at that. But by the end of it, there was just so much going on that everything just got jumbled up together (not in the sense of it being confusing, just so many things happened one after another).

Also, reading this book is like watching a movie. So many unbelievable moments.

I loved the first Sapphire book when I read it about 4 or so years ago. I finally got around to reading the second one and it WAS fun. It'd have been an easy 4 stars if only the end was not so loaded.

Still, give it a shot if you're up for a light, fun read about serial killers (despite it sounding oxymoronic). The sass is worth it!

Enjoyable sequel to the opening novel of the series.
Following on from the events of Stalking, we find Sapphire determined to resume her "Serial Catcher" activities, thwart her upcoming nuptials, and deflect the attentions of detective Aston who is hell bent on uncovering the identity of the Catcher. Deflecting his other attentions, however, is undertaken with less commitment!
Just as in the first novel, the characters are wonderfully portrayed, and the plot is engrossing and fulfilling. As you would expect from a sequel, we get some answers to questions raised in the first novel, and find more questions posed, setting up splendidly for a further novel in the series.
I particularly like how the series has matured with this second book: it is not a regurgitation of the first novel, but a true progression. The characters grow, both in terms of what the reader learns about them, and what they discover about themselves (not a spoiler in sight!). The final chapters take the story to a brutal (and considering what we learn about Sapphire, perhaps inevitable) place, yet the author does not avoid taking it there, and I am all the more intrigued for it.
Looking forward for the next installment!

WHY??!!!
WHY??!!!
I read this book when I realised that Mia Thompson wasn't actually posting it on Wattpad anymore. :(
From the very first page, I was hooked-literally. I couldn't stop reading it, even when I had other more important things to do. If you decide to read this book, be sure to read the first book,Stalking Sapphire! Other than that, you are set to go! (More detailed review later on)

Reviewed on my blog.

Sapphire is back and oh my, it was wonderful! She’s moving onto hunting her next killer, whilst Aston still hunts her. She’s as witty as ever and the story and it’s characters are funny then suddenly scary then funny then romantic and then it’s all going down!

Cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed this book.

Whilst Stalking Sapphire focused more on the consequences of Sapphire’s actions, this book is starting to look into why Sapphire does this. What makes a normal girl put herself in harms way to catch these dangerous men? Why is she willing to risk everything for this?

It’s a great read and I’m eagerly waiting for Mia’s next in the series. I need more Sapphire in my life!

4/5 Stars.

I liked this book better than the first. I won't replay what the book is about cause you can find that on other reviews. It was fun to watch Aston figure out she was the Serial Catcher. I liked the humor and witty repartee the characters have with each other. And the addition of Sapphire's dad ... wow. Her flashbacks were interesting and give the reader insight into why she does what she does. It was so sweet to watch her step-dad come back alive and be so sweet with her. I'm glad she got away from that idiot fiancee, that scene was hilarious. I can't wait to read the books that come out after this.

After reading Stalking Sapphire I was curious to see how the series continued. This one was feeling like a solid 2-star book until about halfway through, when I started getting more invested. The closer it got to the end, the more twists were thrown in - some obvious and inevitable, others less so - and it really ended with a bang. This was a natural continuation from the first book, but the next could really go anywhere from here. I'm officially hooked.

Just as much fun as the first, and with some major plot explosions! I had assumed going in that this would be yet another static series, where everyone basically stays the same from book to book and each one would be Sapphire hunting the serial killer of the week, but this was a pleasant surprise in essentially tossing all its ingredients up in the air and reshuffling them by book's end. Now I'm looking forward to the next one even more.

Gah, another brilliant book!

The storyline was funny, scary and had me hooked!

Couldn't put this down! Even better than the first but now I've found I can't bring myself to start anything else, I'm so caught up in this story I just want to know what happens next! How will I cope while she's writing the next book?

What I love about Silencing Sapphire is that the book is designed carefully and cleverly. The twists in the book outsmarted my predictions about the events. The link between Sapphire's actions and her past sends shivers down my spine, to be honest. The book is easy to read as well, but it is certainly not a waste of one's time.

I think I preferred this 2nd book in the series to the first, the quality of the writing felt far improved, again it was fast paced and I enjoyed the story line despite the slight predictability.

Will definitely continue with this series and i am looking forward to the next book!

Silencing Sapphire is a intriguing novel about the challenges of a woman and how she deals with it.

The novel has a moral about self-worth and independence. It is also thrilling and I couldn't seem to stop reading once I started.

Truely amazing piece of work .
