The Chronicles of Fire and Ice is a book like no other. I have to say that I absolutely love this book and I can't wait for book two. The cover first off is so eye catching it grabs you and makes you want to read it right away. So I was so excited when I saw this book was going to be on a blog tour I had to sign up. I am so glad I did because when I started reading I was introduced to a new world and everyone who knows me knows I love angel stories and so when I started reading the blurb I was l ...more

That alone should be reason enough for everyone to read this book. Lakyn. Lakyn. Lakyn.

Oh, you mean a dreamy guy does not a review make? Oh, well, I guess I should then tell you what an insane world wind of awesomeness is crammed within the pages and how every second is like...

Laura is an incredible author. Her imagination is so out of this world. I know I will devour everything this author dreams up.

Oh, did I mention Lakyn??

Okay, okay, I'll stop with him.

So there's Scarlett and Dysto

First Off the freakin' cliffhanger KILLED ME! Right off the bat I was sucked in and I loved it. There were aspects of the story I didn't like, for instance this scene:
"You know that was my first time?" she told him running her fingers through his hair.
"I'm surprised I beat my brother to it," he chuckled.
I mean call me a hopeless romantic, but shouldn't your first time be given to someone you love and not the enemy? I get why Scarlett did it but Lakyn didn't deserve the honor of being her firs

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
The main reason I wanted to read this book was because I participated in the blog tour, I did a character interview and I loved the characters. I really feel like the book summary sucks the reader in. I also loved that there was a school/ academy for the nephilim, I like the feel it gives the book. The only part if the book that really bothered me was that at times I felt that it jumped around and I had to look back and s

Scarlett Porter is new at Blackbell Academy. She was automatically admitted because she is a Legacy meaning that she is kind of VIP because her parents attended that school before. Being a Legacy also means privilege but she didn't want anybody to know because she didn't want to stand out among the others.

As soon as she meets with Dyston Blackbell she feels like she already know him. He is an awesome guy and especially the one she has been dreaming about since a long time. Dyston told her that s
OK, I got about half way through this, hanging on to hope not unlike being held in the gallows. I think this book is like constipation. Blocked up.

The language is basic. The story is basic. The dialogue is basic.

The maturity level is young - probably should be 'tweens, and the main character, who is pretty boring, should be aged at somewhere about 13ish. Most definitely not 21.

A stilted and jerky read. Don't bother.

Fire and Ice indeed!
I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started reading The Chronicles of Fire and Ice, but since I'm such a huge fan of angels and academies I couldn't put it down. I read it in one evening. How can you go wrong at a school filled with angels?

Fallen angels have mated with humans and created a race called Nephilim. Because of this, the world is changing. Both the human race and the angelic race are dwindling and archangels exist only in stories. However, legend says that a

So before I get into it, I should say I've rated this a 4 rather than a 5 mostly because of my own interests. I love paranormal romance, but reading the author's blurb, I wasn't sure if her world view and mine weren't too far apart for me to enjoy. Well I did really enjoy the book, even though I wouldn't say I loved it. The different ideas of the "Fall" and Nephilim coming to replace most humans? That was a fascinating idea. I love how the main character Scarlet just seems to roll with whatever ...more

I have just finished reading this fantastic Paranormal Romance by L.L. Hunter. Excellently written, with great insight and a significant depth to the characters it is a very enjoyable read. The story follows the story of Scarlet and her journey to discover her Angelic destiny. I was pleasantly suprised that there was also an underlying story and that other characters and their journeys were also explored to some degree.

The story was sweet, fast paced and exciting. A great read, and i would cert

I think like it happens often, you never know if a book will have a good story, until you start reading it. The story sucks you in from the very beginning, and I thought it was very interesting to have a story where angels and humans can have children and they call them Nephilim. The more I kept reading, the more I realized I didn't want to put it down lol. I sure look forward to book 2 to come out and I highly recommend it to everyone. It's a very enjoyable read and the characters are amazing : ...more

Wow. It's been a long time since I read a book that was so poorly written. There is little flow to the plotline, and what there is of it is so rushed along it's ridiculous. There are gaping holes ALL OVER the place in this book.

there is so much going on in this book but that makes it interesting. it feels very much like a television drama.

Do not read

I'm sorry but this book sucked. The book was all over the place, the story line sucked and there were tones of mistakes so I wouldn't recommend this book to anybody and plus I got stuck reading the book because of how messy it was. My advice to you is don't read the book.

The Chronicles of Fire and Ice was amazing! The story itself was nice and fast paced, not dwelling in one place too long. I loved the whole concept of the story, with the Nephilim idea, incorporated with Angels, and Archangels. It stayed interesting throughout the whole book, and I am super excited to read the next one.

I read The Eden Chronicles before this, which is a spinoff series of this series, and I loved seeing the similarities from all of the different characters. I loved meeting the mai

Scarlett Porter is half-human/half-angel otherwise known as Nephilim. On her 21st birthday, she continues the family tradition of attending Blackbell Academy to train and discover her Trait. Once there she befriends other Nephilim, Kat, Emer, Jacob, and Joshua. But she has unexpected encounter with Lakyn Blackbell whose ice blue eyes make her uneasy, and for good reason. Then she spots Dyston Blackbell, Lakyn's younger brother, and realizes he is the black-winged man of her dreams....literally. ...more

Fire and Ice was a great read.I was drawn in right away intrigued by the characters. We don't just have one hot book boyfriend,oh no the author gives us a handful of hot guys. But the two main guys that I can't decide between are the Blackbell brothers. Lakyn and Dyston are the epitome of bad boys.
In the beginning you not sure if everyone is good or evil. There are just rumors of the Blackbells being evil. As the Nephilim arrive at the Academy, they soon form friendships and relationships that will

I loved this book. Once I started reading it, it became hard to put down as I wanted to know what was coming next.
I loved the fact that although the book is about Angels it doesn't go into religion or a religious aspect it's all about the Angels themselves, how they discover their traits, talents and get their wings. ArchAngels, Nephilim (Angel/human mix) Michaelites (humans) and Lucifites (of course followers of Lucifer), their realms. Not that I wouldn't like that but but some people don't and

The concept for this book was a good one, but poorly executed. I really, really could not get into the heroine, who makes bold choices and then cries and wails about them afterward. There was a lot of info left out of the book, so you're constantly trying to figure out what is going on and what this world is actually like.

For example, it seems humans are extinct. Only maybe not. And Scarlett has no clue about her past or what her trait could possibly be, though it manifests pretty darn early. In

Ok- The Chronicles of Fire and Ice (The Legend of The Archangel #1) what can I say, I started this book a week ago, I didn’t really know what to expect… after the first few pages, I was hooked… I was reading this book every time I got chance…. There is so much going on, that you always want to read more- I totally fell in love with all the characters- especially Scarlet, I laughed and cried with this book- I totally felt every word and description.

Scarlett Porter is having reoccurring dreams about a man with black wings and rainbow eyes. Then she starts her first day at a Nephilim academy. I thought this was a really unique and interesting concept. The exposition and explanation didn't slow down the story. This was a fast paced, really quick read. I didn't think the story was rushed but it was really fast, as it zipped from plot point to plot point. I liked Scarlett and I was drawn into her story. I also liked the sexy brothers Lakyn and ...more

I wasn't sure how I wanted to rate this book. Overall, the story was great, it had awesome potential, but I feel like it got cut off too early. Plots were brought up late in the book that didn't get completed. The battle almost started, then quickly ended. I would love to read the second book and the spin-off series. There has to be a second battle, and I want to know what happens next.

Certainly the worst book I've read this year. I liked how it was fast paced but the storyline was terrible! and the heroine was an idiot!

Such a disappointment, thank god I only spent 0.77p on the book.

I love this really different sci-fi...the idea of an angelic world is interesting. Poor Laykin has become corrupt, but there is no salvation because there is no ending for the story of Rachael. Not much of an ending for the other pair either.

Forbidden love, and fascinating facts on angels and realms combined with spiritual warfare makes this New Adult romance an intriguing read.I took this journey over three evenings and enjoyed the ride. Who doesn't like sexy angels fighting for the greater good as well as fighting to be together!

Good book

A world of half Angels and where humans are scarce. Good and bad, demons and those who work with them. Interesting how the author mixed up a whole bunch of things from the bible and from fantasy and made a good book of it.

Not good

The book cover drew me plus the summary but the execution of the plot was confusing. Too many characters POV. No story or characters or romance development. The first two chapters were the only one that flowed. I couldn't continue anymore. Don't waste your time.
