If Cascade was a real town, let me just say that while you are reading this, I would be packing to move there and never moving back. They sure grow them hot there. Whew.

If you've read Kissing the Maid if Honor, (you haven't ? Why not ??) you would have already had a glimpse of the type of men who populate Cascade. I'm mean Luke Watters......holy hotness. But I can honestly say that Shane outshines Luke in this story.

Yes we see Sela and Luke, as well as Erin from the previous book, but this is all about Shane and Kagan. Though this is the second book in the Secret Wishes series, it can be read as a stand alone. It will just make you go back and get the first book.

This book was fantastic, it had everything you look for in a great romance story, but true to the Entangled Bliss line, shuts the door to let the characters have sexy times in private. But it doesn't lack for spark, these two characters have it in spades. The chemistry is smoking between Shane and Kagan. We saw a bit of it before, but this is four alarm fire chemistry.

Especially when Kagan accidentally drops Shane into her lie, one that was meant to help her get her father and father-chosen-would-be-future-husband off her back. Little did they know that what started out as a lie could become the truth very quickly. Watching them try not to fall for each other is so much fun. Plus every time Shane calls Kagan Jelly Belly, I melted a little bit.

Robin Bielman has a knack for creating characters you really love, when Kagan sprouts lines like this " She'd be a moron to turn him down. And her girl parts would never forgive her", you want her to be real so she could be your friend and tell her she's right, she would be a moron, he's HOT.

Throw in a playboy in Shane, who is absolutely drool worthy, with his good looks, panty dropping charm, protective streak and soft side and you get the basis of a perfect weekend read.

Be prepared to laugh, get misty eyed and loose time because you can't put it down. This author is already on my auto buy list, but I will be looking out for more books set in Cascade as this reader needs to hear Erin's and Charlotte's stories too and I'm sure I won't be the only one who thinks this. There are a couple of hot men willing and waiting, just saying.

Kagan Owens is desperately trying to hide her true identity after she leaves her past life in New York and her overbearing father to try to make a go of it on her own merits. When a guy from her past tracks her down she panics and says her boyfriend happens to be the town's resident playboy and natural flirt: Shane Sullivan. Using his unexpected role to his advantage as he has been crushing on Kagan, he plays along willingly and as she meets his family and friends he decides to take a week's vacation from work to get to know her better. As their flirting turns more serious and Shane comes to realize he wants to be in her life permanently, her past intrudes and Kagan has to decide between love and family obligations.
I loved the tone of this book where Kagan has a delicate balance of being independent but trying to be fair about their pretend relationship and then lets her happiness work itself out once she has feelings for Shane. The ending was superb and charming and I loved the modern twist!
I received an advanced reading copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I do love a small town romance and after really enjoying Kissing the Maid of Honor I was looking forward to going back to Cascade in Her Accidental Boyfriend. Once again Robin Bielman hit the spot and written a sweet, funny contemporary romance with great main characters and a wonderful supporting cast.

Kagan left New York to get away from her over controlling father and his plans to marry her off to one of their mutual colleagues. She is sick of always being told what to do and of working long hours for her father's company and just wants some time away to figure out what she wants from life. She's been in Cascade for a few months now and has enjoyed being somewhere that nobody knows her history or her family name, she loves her job as a waitress in the local bar and has enjoyed rediscovering her creative side making jewellery. The last thing she is looking for is a fling before she heads back to New York, especially not one with the local playboy but when her past catches up with her she ends up asking Shane to pretend to be her boyfriend. I really respected Kagan for making a break from her father and wanting to stand on her own two feet, she hasn't been happy for a long time but she has found peace in Cascade and for the first time she finds herself surrounded by people who genuinely care about her. It was lovely to see her start to open up to Shane and his family and I enjoyed seeing them all get to know each other.

I loved Shane in the first book (he is Sela's brother and Luke's best friend) so was excited when I discovered this would be his story. Shane has been intrigued by Kagan ever since she arrived in town but she has consistently refused his requests to go on a date. When she asks him for a favour he isn't above taking advantage of that and decides to make the most of his pretend boyfriend status. The more time the pair of them spend together acting like a couple the harder it is to figure out what is real and what is a fantasy. They were already friends but it's starting to feel like a lot more and both of them are quickly in over their heads. Shane is scared of getting involved because he's worried he'll let Kagan down but for once we have a guy who actually talks about his feelings and explains his fears to his partner. Kagan does a great job of reassuring him and helping him put aside events in his past that he has always wrongly shouldered the blame for.

Kagan and Shane make a wonderful couple, they are friends first and have a deep respect for each other but they also have great chemistry. The Entangled Publishing Bliss imprint is actually quite a mild range when it comes to heat levels so although we see some of the build up there are no detailed sex scenes, that isn't a problem but I do think it's nice to know what to expect when you pick up a book so that's the only reason I'm mentioning it. Her Accidental Boyfriend is a feel good story, I smiled the whole way through and the ending was utterly adorable (it may possibly have brought a happy tear to my eye but if you ask me to confirm that I'll deny it!). If you like small town stories with lots of meddling busybodies and gossip, kooky characters and great friendships then you're sure to enjoy this series. Both books so far have worked perfectly as standalone stories and I'd happily recommend either of them to contemporary romance fans.

Her Accidental Boyfriend was a sweet, flirty, romantic read that I loved being given the chance to read. I hadn’t read the first book in the series prior to reading this one, so it’s definitely a book that you can read out of order. It stands by itself nicely.

Kagan (I love that name!) is currently running from her life. Her father wants her to settle down with a guy she isn’t romantically interested in at all, and he won’t listen to what she wants. To try to force him to listen to her, she takes off to the other side of the country without telling him that she’s leaving, or where she’s going. She even starts using her mother’s maiden name to make it more difficult for him to find her.

Unfortunately, when her friend comes to visit, her father’s choice of husband for her follows, and in order to make him leave, she concocts a fake boyfriend. This doesn’t mean that he’s going to go quietly back to New York though. No, he makes it his personal mission to prove that they are “playing” at being in love, and makes all kinds of threats about telling everyone just who Kagan is.

I loved the interactions between Kagan and Shane. Especially all the miscommunications and sweet moments along the way. And, OMG (I swear – I don’t say that often but you kinda have to squee here) the ending! Loved Shane and the way he orchestrated all of it! This one is definitely a must-read story. It’s the perfect blend of humor, romance, and heartache – and Robin does an amazing job at drawing you in!

My wishes came true with this book. Robin Bielman has given us a perfect second outing to Cascade with a wonderful storyline, new characters as well as those we already love, wit, humour and romantic touching moments balanced with those that tug on your heartstrings a little. I devoured it.

After I had finished Kissing the Maid of Honor (if you haven't had the pleasure, read it, as it will introduce you to many of the wonderful characters in this one), I put in my review that Shane deserved his own book; I loved him as a secondary character and pretty much every time he opened his mouth, I laughed. He doesn't disappoint; he is one accident I would absolutely welcome with open arms and quite different to how I thought he would be, which trust me is no bad thing. Yes he's very sexy, witty and flirty, he works hard, plays equally hard and has no intention of settling down, but underneath he's a thoughtful softie with a huge heart who will do anything for his family and friends. Kagan is a sweetheart, she's funny, kind and thoughtful and the only lady on the planet seemingly immune to the Sullivan charm. He's nothing short of resourceful though and attempting to rectify this situation lands him with the title of the book...

I loved them both. They have amazing chemistry and whilst they are hiding details from their pasts, they bring the best out in each other and are perfect together. Despite their bedroom antics being kept private (this is what imaginations were invented for), there was no shortage of sexual tension, witty banter, flirting and innuendo and with moments that will make you smile, laugh, swoon, sigh in appreciation and want to whoop loudly, it's a complete winner.

Here's to looking forward to more couplings in Cascade.

I received this book as an ARC from the publisher for an honest and unbiased opinion.

HER ACCIDENTAL BOYFRIEND is part of the Secret Wishes Novel Series. Honestly, the series title really does sum of the books in the series very well. HER ACCIDENTAL BOYFRIEND is the story of a woman whose wish is to find out what she really wants out of life and in the process finds the one man who will make it his mission to watch her spread her wings and become the woman she is meant to be.

Kagan Owens is a big city girl who’s hiding a secret. She’s moved from New York to Cascade, Oregon and is trying to find her way, without her father’s control or influence. Shane Sullivan is the hometown boy of Cascade, Oregon. Shane is known as a playboy. But he’s so much more than what he allows people to see. He has a reason for his playboy ways, but he doesn’t share that reason with anyone until Kagan comes into his life.

When Kagan’s past shows up on her doorstep, she asks Shane to pretend to be her boyfriend. From that point on, Kagan’s accidental boyfriend becomes so much more. Who says all accidents are bad? These are two characters you will fall in love with and root for. And of course, the happy ending declaration of love is one of the reasons why I love Entangled’s Bliss line.

One of my favorite quotes from the book:
I want to help you spread your wings and watch you become the woman you're destined to be.

A very happy 5 star review

As a fan of contemporary romance I was pretty certain I was going to enjoy reading Robin Bielman's Her Accidental Boyfriend. It has the typical elements that I love: a hot guy with history of being a player, an intriguing, beautiful, but not full of herself heroine, and an arrangement that has them eventually falling for each other. But what I loved about Her Accidental Boyfriend was the well written execution in bringing those elements together.

Bielman does an excellent job easing the characters together without rushing the feelings or intimacy. The relationship develops not only between Kagan and Shane but also between Kagan, Shane's family and the town. Like any great romance there are bumps along the way to the happy ending and I loved the way these were handled, no long drawn out misinterpretations that typically drive me crazy. As for romance, there is plenty of it, and it is done in a tasteful way.

When I finished reading I really just felt happy. I loved the way everything comes together and I really enjoyed the last page of the book. It definitely was not a typical epilogue and I find it was a really clever tie in to the story. I cannot wait to read more from Robin Bielman and since I have never read the first book in this Secret Wishes series, I am lucky that I won't have to wait!!

Kagan has ran away from her life in New York to pursue her own dreams. Working for her father has been suffocating and it doesn't help any that her father has set up an arranged marriage with a man she doesn't love. While on her journey she meets the sexy Shane Sullivan, who she just so happens to pretend he is her boyfriend so that her current "fiancé" will leave her alone.

Her Accidental Boyfriend is everything I look for in a romance. A swoon worthy guy, a lovely heroine to be jealous of, and lots and lots of romance.

Shane is the type of man every girl can see her with. Hell, what kinda girl doesn't want a rich beautiful man?! Sure that does sound real conceited but can you blame me? When you read about Shane, you'll see what I am talking about.

Kagan was a wonderful heroine. She was strong, beautiful, and real. I instantly liked her and could see why she did what she did when she ran away from New York.

If you are looking for a sweet and heartfelt romance, this is for you. All romance lovers need to pick this up!!

When I asked to review this book, I had second thoughts. I kept thinking, "Did I make a mistake requesting this book?" It sounded like one of those cliche, poor-rich-girl books where the main character comes from a wealthy family and whines about "daddy isn't paying enough attention to me because he would rather work 24/7 and make tons of money so I can live off my designer shoe collection."

I was wrong. I admit it. I loved it. It wasn't what I'd consider a hot and heavy romance novel filled with sexy times, although there were a few moments here and there. It's a cute sentimental romance without being too sappy. It had some funny moments, some crazy moments, and some mushy moments, but I never felt the urge to quit reading.

Kagan Owens leaves New York and her domineering father for a new (temporary) life in small town USA. She takes on a waitressing job at the town bar, and that's where she meets playboy Shane Sullivan. He's sexy, he's sweet, but he's a one night stand kind of guy. That is, until he becomes Kagan's accidental boyfriend.

Shane Sullivan is a different kind of playboy. His reputation stems from the desire to keep from getting close enough to women to hurt them. In grad school, a serious relationship goes very south, so he decides he'll play the field so he won't hurt another girl the way he did Mia.

I know, I know. It sounds crazy, but I get where he's coming from. He lives in a small town, and everybody knows he has a reputation for serial dating. No sane woman is going to mistake his interest for a marriage proposal (keyword: sane). I'm glad he's not the cliche Badboy that leaves a trail of broken hearts everywhere he goes... It just gets old.

All-in-all, this book was very enjoyable. It's a fast little romance for those of you looking for a light read that won't leave you hanging. When I finished reading, there was a happy little glow, but I didn't have a book hangover like I have when I read books like The Original Sinners. It's a lovely book, and it left me wanting to read the entire series, but I won't die if I don't get around to it.

Many thanks to Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Posted on What I'm Reading

Today I finished Her Accidental Boyfriend by Robin Bielman which is the second book in A Secret Wishes Novel. All right, so this book is super adorable. However, it's easy when to find a super adorable book in the Bliss line.

Anyway; at the end of Kissing the Maid of Honor, we see in the Cascade Gazette Shane Sullivan cozying up to a certain waitress. Well, that waitress was Kagan Owens. So, we get to read Shane and Kagan's relationship.

Yes, this is an adorable read. Love Shane, even though he's known as the town player. However, he does have a good heart, especial when it comes to a certain damsel in distress. Kagan left New York to escape an overbearing father, who believe he knew what was best for Kagan. All Kagan saw was her self suffocating under her father's thumb, and that is how she ended up in Cascade, Oregon.

Well, overbearing fathers never really give up on protecting their children. Oh no, they send some to collect their stubborn children. Of course her father sends Brent, the guy he wants Kagan to marry. So, what do you do in a situation like this? Well, you make a boyfriend. Lucky for Kagan, Shane happen to come by at the right moment. Oh dear. Love Shane and how he's willing to play along on trying to prove Kagan has a good life in Cascade.

Shane is great. I mean he could have totally have blown Kagan's cover, instead he plays along even sacrificing his player status. However, there are sparks between Kagan and Shane and he's just glad to get a chance to be with her. Kagan isn't like most girls. One she isn't falling all over herself to get Shane's attention. Actually, she tries to steer clear from him, but circumstance kind throw her into Shane's path.

Overall, Her Accidental Boyfriend is another cute story from Robin. I really enjoy her Bliss books, because they are sweet and fun. They give you that warm fuzzy feeling, which is a must in a Bliss book. So, if you are looking for that warm fuzzy feeling with a Player turn hero, you might want to read Her Accidental Boyfriend.

Once again, another Bliss book that left me weak in the knees and swooning over the chemistry between Kagan and Shane. It's impossible not to feel good as you read this book. It's also impossible to not swoon over Shane - I mean, helllllo. ;)
First, I admired Kagan for following her own dreams and going against a parents wishes. She shows incredible strength and that is something to admire. She comes from a life of privilege, yet doesn't come across as snotty or uptight in the least bit. And Shane, even though he has the history of being a player, has secrets of his own that make him afraid of hurting someone he really cares about. But the connection between these two is just hard to ignore and thanks to one little white lie, Kagan and Shane start off on a journey, no matter how short, that'll change them and bring them close together.
Her Accidental Boyfriend is a fun-loving read and one that had me grinning from ear to ear. I just loved seeing the relationship between Shane and Kagan develop. Not only were the main characters easy to love, but all of the secondary characters just left you with a sense of family and togetherness. It made me want to dive into the pages and join in all the fun, family, and friendship.
As for the ending, oh my goodness! I won't give any spoilers, but it left me weak in the knees and swooning over just how perfect and romantic it was. As soon as I finished reading, I wanted more from Shane and Kagan. Hint, hint. ;)

arc for an honest review

This is the second book of secret wishes series and as always Robin knows how to write a good romantic story.

We've met Shane in the first book as he is Sela's brother. Shane is a playboy, a serious flirt and workaholic.
He never expected to fall in love as he is afraid of his past mistakes. Kagan on the other hand has run away from her life in New York and her father.

When her previous life catches up with her, in a move of despair she asks Shane to be her pretend boyfriend. Neither of them was expecting the fake relationship to turn into a true one.

I really liked this story. Robin has a unique style of writing that it is easygoing and it flows. There is no drama or angst. Shane is a true gentleman and Kagan is very sweet. Their relationship truly works. We get not only Kagan's thoughts but also Shane's and I love when I see a guy falling in love and what there is in his head.

We also get glimpses of Sela and Luke from the first book and many secondary characters of this little town.I loved Charlotte, Kagan's best friend and Erin, Luke's sister and cannot wait to learn more about them.

Overall,I loved this book as it is a true romantic story with many scenes that made me smile. :-)

Loved reading Shane & Jelly Belly's story! Cascade was the perfect setting, with beautiful scenery, engaging secondary characters, and lots of small-town charm. I thought this story moved along at just the right pace. No rush to the HEA! Instead, we saw 2 people, already on friendly terms, come together via the "accidental" route. Kagan needs a boyfriend, so she can convince her estranged father that she has a reason to stay away from New York. Shane just happens to be around when this all happens, but since he's been interested in Kagan for awhile, he's willing to help her out. Watching their relationship develop, thanks to great chemistry & mutual respect, was so much fun! I have to say, the last few pages of the final chapter were AMAZING! I won't give anything away, but I definitely shed a few happy tears.
I can't wait to return to the town of Cascade!

One of my favorite lines from the story:
"She got the best energy from him-the kind that made her feel safe, happy, in the right place. The kind a girl didn't walk away from without a fight." ~Kagan

Under the radar was Kagan Owens plan, she had lived her life in the spotlight thanks to her famous father and handled it, but after a blow out fight with her father she left. Kagan has caught the eye of the towns biggest heartthrob tough and although he doesn't do relationships, he can't stop thinking about Kagan.

When the man who was part of the reason she was running away from, shows up to take her back to New York, Kagan needs a plan and quick. Fortunately Shane happens on her door step and she latches on to a slight little fib, he is her boyfriend. Shane is willing to play the part to help Kagan, but he quickly realizes he wants more and he doesn't know what to do with the rumbling emotions he has while trying to figure out if Kagan feels the same way.

Wonderful read. Kagan is gun shy about getting involved, falling for Shane, and unresolved feelings with why she left home. I loved Shane, he is adorable and scared out of his wits with what he feels for Kagan. Would definitely pick up more from this author, highly entertaining.

Her Accidental Boyfriend by Robin Bielman

I received an ARC by Reading Bliss for an honest review.

I enjoyed just about everything about this book. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was that it ended!! The story of Kagan Donaldson and Shane Sullivan was sweet, witty, and one I easily fell in love with!

Kagan moves across the country to a small town named Cascade to escape her father and his outrageous demands. Here, she is able to reinvent herself, create an identity that isn’t known to the masses. She drops her father’s famous last name for her mother’s maiden name, becomes a waitress, and begins her life in small town USA. This is where she meets Shane. He is drop dead gorgeous. He has a killer smile that melts panties. He has a ‘reputation.’ Kagan is determined to stay away from all things Shane, until Brett (her father’s minion), showed up at Kagan’s door!

This story is fast paced, fun loving with a twist of real. A refreshing read with relatable characters!

I STRONGLY recommend Her Accidental Boyfriend!! 4.5 BLAZING stars!

I loved book one of Bielman's Secret Wishes series, "Kissing the Maid of Honor," and was lucky enough to beta read book two, "Her Accidental Boyfriend." Kagan and Shane captured my attention in "Kissing" when he (boldly!) took the pen tucked behind her ear and wrote his phone number on her palm. I couldn't wait to see how their relationship evolved! "Her Accidental Boyfriend" did not disappoint! Kagan's not quite the carefree, footloose waitress she first appears. Nor is Shane the relentless playboy he initially comes across as. Watching these two reveal their complexities to each other was like diving into a box of smooth, sweet, can't-put-it-down chocolate...and what makes Bielman's romances so addictive.

By the end of "Her Accidental Boyfriend" you'll be smiling, satiated, and, (bonus points), not a pound heavier!

Enjoy every bit of this absolute treat, without any guilt! :)

I GOT AN ARC FOR A HONEST REVIEW AND SO EXCITED THAT I GOT IT

"I'D FLY YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK,JELLY BELLY" HOW DO YOU NOT LOVE THE GUY WHO SAYS SOMETHING LIKE THAT

I found Robin Bielman by accident couple of month ago and I am so happy that I did because she knows how to write romance novels which are sweet and sexy and funny. I LOVED THE BOOK AND CANT WAIT FOR MORE OF THIS SERIES

Shane and Kagan were amazing together they had great chemistry. Usually I love the hero in my novel but Kagan stole the show for me she was strong and humble and stood up to her father so she can do what she wanted. We get to meet Luke and Sela and find out what happened with them and there is a new romance brewing can't wait for that.

The ending is the best it's funny and sweet and it totally fits CASCADE don't miss this great book.

I LOVED THE CASCADE GAZTTE

Adorable continuation of Bielman's Secret Wishes series.

Shane is so heartwarmingly romantic at times that I felt like I was going to melt. He is all in as Kagan's pretend boyfriend and as such it's not surprising that she's so confused by her growing feelings.

The two of them truly make each other better people by opening their partner's eyes to how fantastic they really are. Shane helps Kagan see how truly kind she is as well as how talented she is creatively. Kagan in turn helps Shane realize that he doesn't need to hide his true intelligent/hardworking self behind a shallow/womanizing exterior.

I hope Bielman plans to give Erin & Troy a story. (I really want a story for them!)

Wow! I am truly enamored with this story! I loved Shane and Kagan (awesome unique name) from Kissing the Maid of Honor. There playful banter in that book was hilarious. I loved how she brought him down a couple of notches. But in this story, we got to see their friendship develop in spite of their blazing attraction. It was so sweet! So endearing! And the ending...total swoon! Love love love that song and hadn't heard it in so long that I had to YouTube it. And it was so perfect for this book. Another amazing story in this series! Definitely looking forward to the next one!

Kagan Owen sebenarnya adalah anak aktor terkenal, Fred Donaldson. Demi menutupi identitasnya, Kagan bekerja sbg waitress. Tapi Brett, pria yg dijodohkan dan merupakan utusan ayahnya datang utk menjemput Kagan. Hal ini membuat Kagan meminta tolong Shane, pria yg sudah lama jadi idamannya, utk menjadi pacar palsunya.

Ternyata gak mudah menjalin cinta palsu yg malah akhirnya membuat Kagan jatuh cinta pd kota kecil Cascade, kota kelahiran Shane.

Lagipula karakter Kagan maupun Shane kurang kuat menurut saya. So so aja novel ini.

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This Chick

I have been looking forward to this book since the moment I finished Kissing the Maid of Honor. I loved Luke and Sela and I couldn't wait to get Shane's story. He was one of those guys that I just knew I was going to love, and I was really excited to get to know him better. Her Accidental Boyfriend definitely did not disappoint, and I loved watching as Shane and Kagan fell in love. This one was a lot of fun to read, and I read it pretty quickly because I couldn't put it down.

Kagan is tired of being told what to do and how to live by her wealthy and powerful father. When he basically arranges a marriage for her, she decides enough is enough. She leaves New York behind and winds up in a small town under a name that no one will recognize. She begins a low profile life and starts to feel at home with the friendly people she gets to know. But when Brett shows up in town demanding she return to NYC, Kagan speaks before thinking and declares that she has a boyfriend. Shane Sullivan the town flirt just so happens to show up at that exact moment and becomes her accidental boyfriend. He is more than happy to help out a friend and quickly goes along with the plan because he likes Kagan. Shane is not one to commit and is afraid of hurting anyone again after his past, but he has been wanting to get closer to Kagan and decides this could be his chance. The more their act goes on though and they start to really get to know each other, the more that the fake starts to become real. It isn't long before they are both starting to see a future together. But will Kagan return to NYC like she had always planned? Or will Kagan and Shane take the risk and give a relationship a shot?

I really loved Shane. Even though he starts off as a flirty playboy who is intent to keep things casual, he was just so easy to like. He is confident and sexy, but also extremely sweet and thoughtful. I really liked that even though he was scared to really feel anything for someone again, once he realized that he did, he wasn't afraid and didn't try to run from it. He was just a really great guy, and he is definitely one of my favorite book boyfriends now. I also really liked Kagan. I thought that she was sweet and kind, and even though she was looking for independence she wasn't afraid to lean on her friends for support. I really liked how Kagan opened up to Shane without a lot of lying and angst. Once they started their act, she immediately told him the truth without too much begging or convincing. I thought that it was really refreshing and unique of Bielman to take that route because usually the author saves the big reveal for much later in order to really get in some extra conflict. But I think it really strengthened the connection that Shane and Kagan were forming, and it really helped Shane and Kagan to get to know each other better. Not only did Shane and Kagan have an easy and natural way about them, but they also had a ton of chemistry! It was really clear from the start that they were both very attracted to each other. I thought that they were perfect together and they made a great couple. I really enjoyed the sweet aspect of their relationship and their getting to know each other and even though I normally like a bit more steam, I found that it really didn't hurt how I felt about this book.

Overall, I really loved these characters and this series just seems to be getting better. If I have any gripe about these books, its really that I just want more. I do miss a little of the steam and would love to see more between the couples, but that is only a minor gripe. Robin Bielman's writing is fantastic, and her characters are original and interesting. I always feel very invested in them and i'm never quite ready to leave them behind at the end of the story. That is just me being greedy though. I cannot wait to read more for Bielman, and she is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. If you haven't read any of this series yet, you are really missing out. I think that these characters are so real and easy to relate to that anyone who likes romance will really enjoy reading about them. I highly recommend that you give this one a shot and even though it is a part of a series, it is easily read as a standalone. I still would recommend that you also read Kissing the Maid of Honor though, because that book was also really enjoyable. It was nice to see some familiar faces in Her Accidental Boyfriend, and I look forward to reading more in this series and seeing more of these characters again in the future!

3-1/2 stars. but I'm rounding up because: Shane.

This review can also be found on Steamy Guys After Dark.

I really love Robin Bielman's characters and stories and was pretty excited to check out Her Accidental Boyfriend. Kagan Owens temporarily escaped her billionaire father's plans for her life when she fled from her high-society job and obligations in NYC to the small coastal town of Cascade. She works in relative anonymity as a waitress and spends her days living the small-town life, fueled in part by her fantasies of local bad-boy architect, Shane Sullivan.
Okay, he'd been the lead in all of [her fantasies], with his square jaw, dazzling blue-gray eyes, and dark, neat hair that she really wanted to mess with her fingers. Not to mention he had a rock hard body that put all other bodies to shame. But she had no plans to act on the urges he stirred. For one, he held the title of first-rate flirt and town Casanova, and every single girl in a twenty-mile radius had set her sights on him.

When Brett, the guy her father intended for her to marry, shows up and demands she return home with him, Kagan tells him that she can't go back...because she's met someone in Cascade, and it's serious.

Shane just happens to walk up at pretty much that exact moment and plays along. When Brett decides to stick around, Kagan and Shane realize they're going to have to convince everyone that they're together.
"This doesn't mean we need to be together twenty-four-seven or anything. I've got work, you've got work. But since Brett has no plans to leave we do have to make it look real, which means lying to everyone--your mom and dad, your sister. Friends. I'm sorry I've put you in that position."

He tucked a piece of hair that had escaped her updo behind her ear. "Quit apologizing, okay? I'm happy to help you out."

"You're positive?" Under the street lights it wasn't easy to read his expression, but she was pretty sure she saw reluctance mixed in with his acquiescence.

"Truthfully, being anyone's boyfriend is not on my radar, but I can fake it will Brett's here. You're going to owe me big time when we're through, though."

They start spending time together, and you know what happens--what started out as fake isn't so fake anymore.
She bit her bottom lip and then leaned in a little closer, played with the hair at the nape of his neck. "You and me." She stared into his eyes. He stared back. "How I'd like to--"

He cut her off by smashing his mouth against hers. Fierce. Passionate. Kissing her with the kind of wild abandon that led to tearing clothes off each other.

I really liked Shane. He was sweet and attentive and swoony. He was a fun guy to be around. I loved that he was always thinking of Kagan's feelings and wanting to be good for her, even when it was just a ruse. I also liked the other characters, especially Shane's sister and best friend and Kagan's best friend.

Kagan was okay. Some of the time I liked her, but some of the time I didn't. I had a real issue with her constantly thinking of Shane as just a "wham-bam-thank you-ma'am kind of guy." He obviously cared about his family and about her, to put his life on hold to help out with her charade. He even took a vacation to spend time with her, and since she didn't have any close friends who told her about how he "loved her and left her," I didn't really get why she was so adamant about him being a playboy. Most of the things I liked about her were the things that Shane liked about her. He made me appreciate her more.

There were a few other things that I didn't like, including Kagan's father and Shane's boss, but overall, I enjoyed reading this story and will definitely be back for more from author Robin Bielman. With an awesome guy that you'll definitely fall for, an almost idyllic setting, and a storyline that will never get old, Her Accidental Boyfriend is a great way to spend an afternoon.

Full review posted on my blog, Becky on Books.

Much like the first novel in Robin Bielman's Secret Wishes series, Kissing the Maid of Honor, Her Accidental Boyfriend is absolutely adorable! I might even like HAB's Shane better than KtMoH's Luke...but shhh--don't tell either one of them!

(As an aside, I totally called Shane being the hero of book two in my review of book one. Not that I'm bragging or anything. And it definitely looks like Luke's sister Erin is slated for book three--she was my second choice for book two--so it's a definite win-win all around!)

I just love the characters Robin Bielman has created for this series. They're a lot of fun to read about and root for, especially Shane and Kagan, the hero and heroine--but really, readers will find themselves caring just as much about the secondary characters as well. (I'm going to say it now--Kagan's best friend Charlotte had better get her own book somewhere down the line. She totally deserves it!) The town that the Secret Wishes books take place in--Cascade, Oregon--has a homey, small-town feel to it without being overly treacly. The townspeople are quirky and of course want to get involved in the lives of our hero and heroine, but aren't overbearing and annoying about it. Their actions give our two main characters just the right amount of "push" throughout the story.

The development from fake relationship to real one was nicely done. Shane and Kagan have some obvious chemistry going on here, and the sparks fly pretty quickly. Being a Bliss novel, the physical parts of their relationship were closed door, but there were some delicious kissing scenes.

The very few things that gave me pause in this story--like Shane's boss's attitude, Kagan's father's ultimatum, and Shane's reasons for never again having a real girlfriend--are either eventually explained in a way that makes them more palatable or end up being resolved in a satisfactorily believable way. Things do move a bit fast in the story, but as there's an end date to Kagan's time in town, that too doesn't end up being too much of a stretch.

Overall, this was another sweetly satisfying and sexy read. I am definitely on board for the next one in the series. Though can I just say--this novel has one of the best "get the girl back" scenes I've read in a long time? I'm not sure how Robin will be able to top that next time. Oh, and the (slight spoiler alert) proposal scene is just too sweet. I absolutely love the ring!

A- rating.

“Whatever happens is short-term. I think we can both handle that.”–Kegan

Kegan Owens told a teeny tiny white lie to get her father’s lackey Brett off her back and out-of-town. Luckily, playboy Shane Sullivan played along, pretending to be her boyfriend. To their surprise, Brett doesn’t leave town, and Kegan and Shane are stuck in a ruse. Except, it doesn’t feel like they’re pretending anymore…

This was a quick and fun read with such a sweet romance! I love that the little white lie brought Kegan and Shane together since otherwise, they were resisting the attraction between them. They both have reasons for not wanting to jump into a relationship, so it was great reading about them facing those fears and outside forces to be together!

I love that Kegan decided to leave her father’s controlling ways and branch off on her own (I still can’t believe what a jerk he was at one point in the book). I love her views on marriage, and I can’t believe Brett and her father were pushing her so hard to be in essentially an arranged marriage! Shane was such a trooper to play along with Kegan, and I loved that he realized being a boyfriend–even pretend!–wasn’t as hard as he thought it would be! I especially liked that even though he’s a playboy, he was still nervous around her at the start before the ruse, because he really liked her. On a side note, I can’t believe his boss would be one of the obstacles in their way–grr…aren’t there laws about that?

Overall, I enjoyed the book, especially how they ended up being there for each other despite the fact that they started off being in a pretend relationship. Aside from sexual tension, the love-making scenes are fade-to-black so I would consider this having a light to medium heat level. If you like quick feel-good romance reads, check this one out! This is a 4 out of 5 for me!

Her Accidental Boyfriend by Robin Bielman is a delightfully affectionate story that will keep a smile on your face long after you have read the very last line. The characters are well-developed, likeable and have a great sense of humor. This is an engaging read that flows smoothly from beginning to end.

Waitress and jewelery maker Kagan Owens is finally commanding her own life in the delightful small town of Cascade, Oregon. She was raised in New York City and after her mother died, her famous actor turned business tycoon father, evolved into a control freak and directed every aspect of her life. In addition, due to his celebrity, Kagan was followed around by the paparazzi and anything she did seemed to be major news. Thus, without a word to anyone except her best-friend Charlotte, Kagan fled cross country to reestablish herself.

Good-looking playboy Shane Sullivan is an extremely successful project manager for one of the top architectural firms on the west coast. He loves his job, living in Cascade and the company of a pretty woman. He enjoys flirting and using his physical attributes to his advantage.

Kagan is in a bind. Her father has found her and has sent his protege to bring her home to NYC. She needs a pretend boyfriend to convince everyone that she is happy and in love with no plans on moving back to the city. Since there are already a few sparks between Kagan and Shane, Shane agrees to Kagan's course of action. Overtime yet very quickly, their fake relationship evolves into much more and they realize that they can't live without each other.

I liked this book, especially the fairytale ending. I also enjoyed how Kagan's and Shane's relationship developed. If you are looking for an upbeat, well-written romance, give Her Accidental Boyfriend your full attention.

Robin's New Adult books are such fun to read. You can count on her characters having personalities that really shine and the plot keeping a steady pace while building up a strong connection between the couple. Healthy platonic friendships also get a starring role in the Secret Wishes stories and the small town Cascade setting is just cozy enough to be wistful without inducing sugar shock or tripping my busybody neighbor irritations. This is the second book in the series that starts off with the heroine making a wish that doesn't quite turn out like she intended, and I think it's a charming hook.

We get to see a little of Sela and Luke from Kissing the Maid of Honor but the real stars are Shane and Kagan. He's a reformed playboy (Sela's brother and Luke's best friend) and perpetual flirt, and she's the daughter of a wealthy businessman trying to escape her father's controlling influence. Both characters are very easy to like and root for, and their chemistry builds naturally and slowly. This is a New Adult story, so while there is some kissing and thinking of naughty thoughts, the sex is completely off-screen. If that bothers you and you really want to be in the bedroom with the couple, you should probably skip this series (and most other New Adult categorized romance). Otherwise, pick up Her Accidental Boyfriend, spend some time in the sweet seaside town of Cascade, and fall in love with this swoon-worthy cast. Even though this isn't the first book in the series, it can be read as a standalone without too many spoilers (because, honestly, in the New Adult genre a happy ending is practically guaranteed).

Her Accidental Boyfriend is a little bit adorable, a charmingly sweet and endearingly cozy New Adult romance.

I read the first book in the Secret Wishes series where we were introduced to the hero and heroine. Just those tiny interactions made me realize how much I wanted to read their story. In some ways I thought this book was even better that the 1st. The banter between the two was hilarious. If there was a smart ass contest, Kagan would win.

Kagan is hiding out from her wealthy father. He's trying to direct her future, including who she should marry, and she's at the end of her rope. She mainly keeps to herself. Most of her socializing comes during her shift as a waitress in the Crown & Anchor bar. When the man her Father wants her to marry shows up, she needs an out. She lets out a little lie about Shane.

Shane was chasing Kagan in the 1st book. No matter how many times he asked her out, she turned him down. Shane is not someone who's used to hearing the word no. Especially from a woman he shows an interest in. Shane happened to appear at her door when she needed him. While he tries to puzzle out everything about her, he somehow ends up agreeing to be her pretend boyfriend. What better way to get to know her right? Why's she hiding things? Is this just pretend for them? Could the town playboy finally have met his match?

Kagan Owens has escaped to the small town of Cascade to get away from her overbearing, controlling father and the life she had in New York AND the fiance she was being forced to marry. She's happy working in a bar and making jewelry and she's even made a couple close friends. The last thing she wants, though, is a relationship...

Shane Sullivan is the town's flirt, a wrecker of women's hearts. He's on his way up in his job and doesn't need any complications to hold him back. He enjoys his women.. but there's one in particular that has lately drawn his eye... her smile lights up the small bar he frequents...

When Kagan's ex-fiance shows up just as Shane is returning a sweater to her, Kagan comes up with a little lie in the spur of the moment that Shane is her new love... hence Her Accidental Boyfriend. But... Kagan never expected Shane to agree to play the part....

This was the 1st book I've ever read by Robin Bielman and it won't be the last! I loved her writing! This was a WONDERFUL romantic tale and I loved it so much that I purchased the 1st book in her Secret Wishes series, Kissing the Maid of Honor, as soon as I had turned the last page.

I would highly recommend this story to anyone who loves contemporary romances.

Excellent! 5 Stars!!!!!!

All Kagan wants to get escape from her old life and make a new one where no one even knows her name. She's a waitress, life is simple and she loves her job. Shane is a frequent customer who can't get his eyes off that waitress. When a person from her past life comes for her she tries to avoid by saying Shane's her man. To pull it off they must fool everyone, but its getting harder and harder. Now its the point they're not sure whats real and whats not.

I just want you readers to know that even if this book is the second in the series, its a stand alone. I didnt even know this was the second book until I was done. I enjoyed this book so much I'll be sure to check out this first book and see what happens next.

I loved this book. Its your typical rich girl running from her life, then theres the playboy that she shouldn't like but does. A simple little accident leads them to get together. I like how easy it was to like the characters. I loved the chemistry between the Kagan and Shane I loved this book even if it was predictable. 4 of 5 Stars.
