Officer Odalia Foucheaux is a desperate woman. Incriminating photographs of her after-hours job as a fetish model have been stolen, and she’s willing to break rules to get them back. Standing in her way? The very dominant bounty hunter Jacques Savoy.
Jacques has been watching out for Officer Foucheaux. He wants her safe from harm as much as he desires her body, her soul—and her submission. Odalia’s in trouble and struggling to walk the line of the law. His solution? Work together to find out who stole her pictures, what the thief wants and how to stop him. And if they find a pleasure unlike any other along the way, well, laissez les bons temps rouler.
It can never be said that NYT & USA Today Bestselling author Sidney Bristol has had a ‘normal’ life. She is a recovering roller derby queen, former missionary, and tattoo addict. She grew up in a motor-home on the US highways (with an occasional jaunt into Canada and Mexico), traveling the rodeo circuit with her parents. Sidney has lived abroad in both Russia and Thailand, working with children and teenagers. She now lives in Texas where she splits her time between a job she loves, writing, reading and fostering cats.
Sidney is represented by Nicole Resciniti of the Seymour Agency.
I had cover lust with this one so that's what really prompted my purchase :). Although the story was a short, I liked the characters and their uniqueness. Most of the BDSM books written don't contain fairly carbon copied Doms. I like that Jacques was very atypical but verra sexy!

another disappointing book for the day. I really wish people would research bdsm before they wrote it. This one wasn't bad but it wasn't accurate either. First it was definitely more b/s/m than D/s. What there was of it was poorly portrayed. They never discussed hard limits or a safeword which is pretty much the foundation of a D/s relationship (or at least the start). This involves a little bondage and a lot of spanking/whipping/flogging. Throughout the whole book i struggled to piece together the timeline and the plot. We have a bounty hunter...who's also a photographer for pretty much the most prestigious tattoo magazine in the US? That's what I understood it as anyways. And they do a naughty photo shoot but then the camera is stolen and so now they have to find it. But she is trying to do it on her own in a way sure to get her fired and probably brought up on criminal charges. We're basically dropped in the middle of a story and are left to piece it together for ourselves over the next 6 chapters. The sex scenes weren't poorly written but because i had no investment in the characters or plot i found myself thinking more about my sex life than the actual scene so they didnt do much for me. The author tried to give the characters backstory but it fell totally flat and as such I didn't really get into them. It wins points for not being poorly written but I think it tried to be something it's not-either write a longer story and give it the depth it deserves or take it for what it is and write a smaller plot that requires less development and thought to string together the point of the book-the sex scenes. And for god's sake RESEARCH. If you just googled d/s and clicked the first link you'd probably be able to write an accurate portrayal. how do they keep going so wrong?
This is my 4 star review for Picture Her Bound by Sidney Bristol for Eskimo Princess Book Review.
Picture Her Bound is about Odalia Foucheaux, a police officer by day and a fetish model by night. She is an excellent Police Officer and it is her main job that she doesn’t want to lose. When the camera from her latest shoot is stolen Odalia gets worried that the pictures on the disk will be discovered and ruin her career.
Jacques Savoy, is a Bounty Hunter and local Dominant that has his eyes set on the lovely Odalia. He knows that she will stop at nothing to get those pictures back, and he feels responsible since the camera was stolen from his photo shoot. You see, Jacques was the photographer she was working with that day. He had seen her picture in Inked Magazine and couldn’t resist capturing her beauty himself. Will they be able to work together professionally when they are so close personally? Will Odalia find out who took her pictures and why they wanted them so badly? Will Jacques be able to walk away from her when the case is over?
I really liked this book. Odalia was a very strong leading lady, she was fierce when she needed to be and submissive at the right times as well. Jacques was a very good Dom so had a way of bringing that out in her. You get a hefty dose of BDSM in this book, and not all of it is gentle. Odalia liked pain, so there might be a cane used a time or two. I thought the ending was okay, but I personally would have loved to read more of their story.
If you are looking for a short BDSM novel to read while cuddled up on a cold night or on a warm beach somewhere this would be a good choice.
Title: Picture Her Bound Series: Bayou Bound Book #1 Author: Sidney Bristol Rating: B Review: This was a cute, quick read, and one that I enjoyed. You should be aware however, that it is novella length - which is what I found most disappointing about it. The storyline is a good one, the characters captivating enough that you want to see more of them, and enough of a mystery/conflict that it could have made for an even better full length novel. I, personally, would have liked a to see a bit more of the build-up of attraction between these two characters - but that's my own personal opinion on what I like to see. That is part of my own personal dissatisfaction with novellas - these authors are such amazing writers with such good, intriguing storylines that I want so much more! It is really a credit to the author's writing...:) Disregarding my opinion, it is certainly a solid read. This one wastes no time in kicking off the storyline, and things really roll quite smoothly and efficiently. There are no ebbs or lulls, and it wastes no time with fluff....just gets straight to the nitty-gritty bare-bones of the story. I thought the 'thief' aspect would up a little too quickly, and simply not enough reasoning behind why he was willing to go to such lengths to go against Odalia - for all the drama about it, it was just a little too easy. I guess that is the real crux of the matter - it lacks a little depth in the overall execution of the story. Things are a little too pat and a little too simplistic for a novel full of intrigue and suspicion. Of course, if you're in the mood for a 'quickie' read, you can't really go wrong with this one!
Purch Amazon May 10, 2017 Picture Her Bound (Bayou Bound #1) by Sidney Bristol Adult Contemporary Romance I know this is listed as Erotica but, quite frankly, that part fell a bit flat. Every time the sexual tension started to ramp up a bit one or both main characters started to laugh or giggle. Oh, and Odalia 'Stomps' her feet in every sex scene. What the HECK?! Added to this problem is how jumpy the story is and the odd wording used. Even the erotic parts are jumpy and way off. All this makes it very hard to read and interrupts the flow. You get just enough of Odalia and Jacques to want to get to know them more and to want to like them. You just don't get enough of them to actually connect to them in any way. This one had a lot of potential, but the whole thing needs to be rewritten. 6 Notes & Highlights (6 out of 6 visible) July 24, 2017 – Finished Reading July 23, 2017 – Started Reading
Picture Her Bound by Sidney Bristol is a novella featuring a female cop and a hot bounty-hunter. Officer Odalia poses for some kinky pictures for photographer and bounty hunter Jacques Savoy. The agreement is that her face would not be shown but the camera is stolen before Jacques has a chance to edit the photos. Odalia and Jacques then try to figure out who stole the photos and find them before Odalia's career is jeopardized.
I absolutely loved this novella. It features two very likable characters, an interesting plot, and some very hot chemistry. Highly recommend!
read as part of Midnight Ink and LOVED the characters! Loved their strength and yet the tenderness they had for each other. I'm a sucker for a little suspense and a sucker for a series so I am looking forward to the next read.
I liked this well enough to read the rest of the series. It's a novella so the story in long but the setup was good if Bristol had decided to do a longer book.
I'm really really enjoyed this.... I just wish there had been more...
Good story... Great characters, but I needed more... I can't say the story felt incomplete per say but it just went by way too fast,Jacques and Odalia were great together with a wonderful natural chemistry, characters that felt edged towards a type of greatness but never got there for me because we didn't get nearly enough time with them.... Characters I feel like we only got to scratch the surface of before they were gone and it was over... That saddened me because I liked the two ppl a lot, they both seemed rich and interesting and though I'm not a huge female sub. BDSM fan I can enjoy it when the ppl involved are in it for the right reasons and while you see they complete were, for me too much went unsaid.... I also like the whole kinda WWBM ( White Woman Black Man) thing going on,as said woman I've learned as I get/have gotten older the most important things are the intangibles what's on the inside, the kinda of heart he has and chemistry and attraction, coz believe me chemistry and attraction might sound shallow at times I've learned you can call me to sorely miss them... Soo I don't care if he has Blue skin ( Ice planet barbarians ) or Black, I love getting to see more diversity in our H's ... Personally I care if he's Black,Blue,Brown,Green or Purple I'd rather him be any or all of those ( giggles mood ring skin ;) ) just save me from the proudly proclaimed selfish D bag Manwhore H's and give me more men like Jacques, just get me more time to get to know and enjoy them ... I don't like it when the couple barely gets together as a couple and then the book ends... Especially in a HFN ending... But I do wanna read more ;)
A fairly quick read. 172 pages. Although it took me a little bit to get into this story, it wasn't bad. A bit rushed in places and the beginning just jumped right into the story. There's not a lot of back story on the history of the main characters. They seem pretty familiar with each other- I mean he took naughty sexy pics of her. And they knew each other bc he was a bounty Hunter and she was a cop. Plus the dungeon. But at the same time it seemed like they were not all that close. Like I couldn't figure out if there was a history the or not. No safe words were ever discussed which led me to think there was a history but I'm thinking there wasn't one. I wish that it had been a little bit longer and a bit more fleshed out. But I enjoyed reading it.
Not surprisingly, this was more about the sex than the story. While I don’t mind the more explicit side of writing, I do like a meaty story to go with it. A little disappointing as Bristol’s other stories appear to balance both well.
Btw, I like this cover better. The ebook I read had a very white tatted man on the cover. When the hero is described as very dark skinned, the incorrect model for the cover is a bit distracting.
Even though this is a short novel it quickly got right into the plot. The characters work well together.. I liked the detail`s about the tattoos, and what its like to get them. So many authors who do not have tattoos fail to do their research, so it leaves me being pulled out of the story. As you would expect there is quite a lot of steamy encounters between the two main characters, but the story keeps you entertained though out.
Jac and Odalia are complicated individuals however they are perfect and good for each other. Not only is he her kindred spirit, but her hero too. Great story with Cajun heat.
I really enjoyed the fast-paced story and the characters. The book could use some more chapter breaks; there were times the story jumped hours or locations from one or paragraph to the next, and it was confusing.
I love a book set in the heart of bayou country in Louisiana. This one is about way more than your average kink. It has a bit of mystery that needs solving.
I do enjoy Bristol but I loved her other books more and other authors with the same genre. Quick short read about getting her photos back from the stolen camera of a kinky scene.
I haven’t read a BDSM for awhile now. It was a good book with a few good scenes that had a good storyline. It was shorter than I am used to, but it was worth the read!
I tend to shy away from the books that focus on military, cops and firemen: I’m just never that intrigued because I want an escape in my stories, and the obvious connection to real-world situations doesn’t always promise that. But, Sidney Bristol has made me a convert – at least where her books are concerned. Picture Her Bound holds a strong police presence with Odalia and the bounty hunting dominant Jacques who wants nothing more than to make her his.
Odalia is a police officer for the city of New Orleans: a study in contradictions she is determined, forthright and utterly dominant in her work persona. Chasing down the person who has stolen a camera from a sexy BDSM-themed photo shoot where she was the sub in the center has her working off hours in unsavory places trying to reclaim the camera and its damning evidence.
Jacques is a bounty hunter and natural-born dominant in every aspect of his life. Drawn to Odalia, he was the mastermind of the photo shoot that could compromise her position on the police force. He is drawn to the contrasts that she displays: dominant take-charge woman with a badge, pliant submissive after hours. Feeling guilty and responsible, and fearing that more than just her reputation is at stake, he decides that he will protect her, retrieve the camera and perhaps convince her that while those were only the beginning of their relationship, he is wanting much more.
From the streets of New Orleans to the private moments between Jacques and Odalia that are steamy, spicy and a touch naughty this story just flies by. Characters are well developed, conversations feel real, and the steamy moments will melt your eReader! I adore Sidney Bristol’s books: clever insertions of sex, history, culture and a real feel for the world that she creates to showcase her story all combine in ways that are unique and refreshing. Add in te search for the camera thief and the overwhelming tension, both from the mystery and between Jacques and Odalia kept me engaged and wondering what is next.
I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
This is my first Sidney Bristol book and I must say I enjoyed it very much. Great characters, strong spirited woman, sexy, caring Dom; who could ask for better entertainment?
