Humpfree is yet another delightful rhyming digital picture book that had us chortling at every turn of the page.

When Humpfree realises he doesn't have any lumps he puts his detective skills to the test. He tries all manor of hump substitutes including, balloons, burlap bags, sand bags, boulders, porcupines, even feathers, but none of his bumps will stay as permanent humps.

Just when Humpfree is about to give up in despair, he is met by a scientist who discovers that Humpfree is not just any came

Julie Dweck strikes again with yet another greatly illustrated rhyming story. This time it is about Humpfree, a camel who doesn't have any humps.

The story is about a Humpfree, a camel who notices that he is different and goes off in search of some humps in order to fit in with the other camels. He is so determined to be like the other camels that his search leads him to some strange ideas for humps.

As you can see from the cover picture he tries balloons tied to string in order to fit in, but the

I had the privilege of reviewing another great children's eBook from Julia Dweck with my little girl!! It's Humpfree: The Humpless Camel." This one was just released last week and is such fun!

Now that we've been reading more eBooks on the iPad than regular books, my preschooler is thrilled when I pulled it out and ask if she wants to read a new story. And, this story did not disappoint!

Humpfree: The Humpless Camel is the story of poor Humpfree who doesn't have any humps on his back like the oth

Humpfree is no ordinary camel. While must have a hump or 2, our poor friend has none. Follow him through his trials & errors as he attempts to create humps for himself. Can Humpfree learn to appreciate who he was meant to be?
Young-Min Yoon has illustrated for Julia Dweck this time out. Humpfree is drawn as adorable as readers would imagine him to be. Though I must admit, our favorite pic was Humpfree’s unfortunate outing with the balloons! None of the camels in Humpfree’s community are mea

You know how they tell you not to judge a book by its cover? Well, with “Humpfree the Humpless Camel,” ignore that advice. The cover, with its portrayal of a startled-looking flat-backed camel floating over the desert with balloons tied around his midsection promises a humorous tale, and that promise is fully delivered.

Told in rhyme, the story centers around – you guessed it – a humpless camel named Humpfree (it did strike me that his parents weren’t very kind when picking his name – I mean, th

I had the opportunity to receive and e-ARC copy of this book to read and review. This is another remarkable picture book written by a remarkably talented children's author. I absolutely love learning about Humpfree and his adventure, he is an extremely fascinating character, and I fell in love with him. My 1 year old niece also enjoyed listening to this story. She laughed and wanted to hear it over and over again. I was also entranced by the illustrations is this picture book. I caught myself st ...more

This is the story of Humpfree Camel and his quest to find his humps. Yes, there is humor abounding within these pages, as can be seen from my description, but there is also a distinct message of JUST BE YOU because you are special, you are important, you are a one of a kind original...and in Humpfree's case, he really is.

Perhaps the coolest part of this little beauty outside of the AWESOME illustrations and ADORABLE story is the fact that it has a tie to real life. There is actually a "humpless"

Julia Dweck uses witty rhyme in her new book, Humpfree The Humpless Camel, to teach children to embrace the characteristics that make them unique.

Unlike the other camels, Humpfree is missing his humps. He sets out on a comical adventure to find humps he can call his own, but nothing seems to fit just right. Humpfree tries balloons that cause him to float away, boulders that weigh him down, feathers that tickle, and much more, but soon gives up in despair. Will Humpfree ever discover how rare an

Well, Julia Dweck has done it again! I have reviewed a few of her books at this point, and I am always delighted by the content, message, and the illustrations. She is always educational in her view, and she makes it fun for the kids. She always includes fun facts and activities in the back of the book. I do recommend getting a physical copy (when available) of the book as opposed to an e-book merely because your children will appreciate it more. I can't recommend her books highly enough, and th ...more

Humpfree the Humpless camel stays true to Julia Dweck's witty style. A lovely picture book in rhyme will help to increase your child's vocabulary, further develop your child's reading skill, and keep your child engaged and interested.

It is clear that Julia knows what children want - and she delivers it book after book. It's almost eerie how she is able to write one book, that can entertain children of varied ages. The beautiful colored illustrations will keep this book on your child's list of al

Humpfree is different. Unlike the other camels, he has no humps. So Humpfree sets off to find some, a task that proves more difficult than he thought.

This is a lovely story that teaches children that it's okay to be different and that, in fact, this is what makes someone special. The book includes full-page illustrations by Young-Min Yoon. The drawings are bright, clear, and colorful, the perfect accompaniment to this cheerful rhyming story told in Julia's inimitable style. Complete with fun cam

Another wonderful book by Julia Dweck; her background in elementary education allow's her to be in touch with what children want and what makes them enjoy a book over and over again.

The story of Humpree is no different. The title just gave my kids a laugh. In the story Humpfree's back is flat as a board and this doesn't sit well with him-so he's off a wild search looking for his humps, but there are lots of silliness along the way. It's a great book to bring the topic of embracing your difference

Humpfree: The Humpless Camel by Julia Dweck is a delightful children's book about being unique and special. A camel with no humps goes on a journey to find two good substitutes. The story flows with delightful rhymes as you cheer for Humpfree to achieve success.

Dweck was inspired to write this book after reading a story on scientists who discovered a rare camel species in the mountains of East Africa. The book is beautifully illustrated by Young-Min Yoon. My 6-year-old son was delighted by the p

Humpfree the Humpless Camel is going through life wondering why he is different and viewing that difference as a deficiency. He tries to "fix" his humplessness. But should he? Does he need to be "fixed"? Should his difference be celebrated? This is another great story by Julia Dweck in her rhyming method and is very entertaining for young children. 5 stars!
