It's Not Easy Being Right...

Vanessa Campbell is a CPA by day and a perfectionist by night. She's fit, successful... and decidedly lonely. She can't stop thinking about the youngest McCauley brother, Cameron. He's just like her: smart, attractive, and usually right — except when dealing with her.

...But Someone's Got To Do It.

Cameron McCauley likes Vanessa a little too well.

So I sort of started this series out of order which I think is like a reading sin or something but hey, I saw this book on hoopla and I just had to have it. I didn't even think about where it was within whatever series it was in. I saw the cover. I saw how long the audio was. I got it. Pretty simple stuff but now that I did start it out of order I might as well continue reading this series that way - so I will definitely move to book 2 then go to book 1. THEN maybe one day and one year I will ac ...more

I felt like Cameron got cheated out of his own book. This book is supposed to be about the youngest McCauley brother but it wasn't focused soley on Cameron & Vanessa. I felt like it was focused more on what was going on around them mainly Cameron's parents. This was still an enjoyable read even though I liked the first 2 books more.

Vanessa Campbell is one of the tougher girls of the group. She’s a perfectionist and always has to be right. With the way she was brought up, Vanessa didn’t receive love or attention from her parents and that has really affected how she runs her own life. However, RUINING MR. PERFECT shows that Vanessa is absolutely capable of falling in love. The only problem is, she doesn’t know how to handle it.

Cameron McCauley is the sensitive one. He’s the smart, sexy and successful hottie in a suit tha

There’s something special when two people are made for each other and that’s exactly how I feel about the hero and heroine in Marie Harte’s Ruining Mr. Perfect. Both are goal oriented, financial geniuses, exercise fiends, and health conscious. They pretty much are perfect for one another except they both like to be right and they both have some issues stemming from their childhoods. An excelle

Well I have to say it was good but not my favorite, it was the first that had multiple couples.

- The hero and heroine were too much alike yet they had their differences, like the heroine she looked to me that she had something in common with Brody the hero f the previous book, and that is when in a fix they prefer to deal with it on their own and this happened a lot in this book, were she either avoid the hero or ask for some space.

- Believe it or not I liked the parents part more than the main

This was a match I was excited for, although the next one is the one I've been dying to read. Loved the ending so hard! Miss Controlling got exactly what she needed with the perfect guy for her.

I had soooooooooooo high expectations for this book. I mean, it was always on the back of my mind and I'm always trying to find the opportunity to read it. Well, now that I did I am hugely disappointed..

Ruining Mr. Perfect is the kind of story where so much is happening at the same time I felt my own mind filled with noise. The multiple stories going in it did not help either.. There was the main story of Vanessa and Cameron, then Cameron's father and mother then what I think is the beginnings o

Cameron & Vanessa have had a simmering "thing" since the first book in the series, which they are finally acting on in this book! Cameron is all in from the start, but Vanessa is skittish & keeps waiting for the bomb to drop & things to be over. Cameron is as much of an alpha as his brothers physically, but is more intellectual. Vanessa is more no-nonsense than the previous heroines in this series. There is a secondary story about the McCauley parents that has continued over from the last book, ...more

My review:

Since the beginning of this series I always knew there was something brewing between our little Vanessa and Cameron. This was a very cute and sweet romance. Very little drama which I enjoyed and although not as much steam as the last book, it still fit. I loved both
I wasn't that impressed with this installment. To me, it didn't make sense to put the two cerebral types together. I couldn't see what made them spark! Vanessa has had an aloof thing going for the entire series and falling in love didn't soften it like it should have! Cameron was also a bit of a drama prince, and wound up really hurting Vanessa in the process! Not to mention, they were pretty stupid in thinking that only the Pill would protect them from pregnancy! It was just asking for trouble ...more
Crazy for Books (Stephanie)
Cameron and Vanessa's story is hilarious. Vanessa is so controlled and has a plan for her life and future. Though Cameron has a plan, his McCauley upbringing has taught him to go with the flow a little better than Vanessa. Once these two decide they want to be together they dive right in, but stumble over a few things as they go.

Vanessa's penchant for speaking the truth and telling her version of what's right cause a few problems with their relationship. Cameron knows what he wants, and it's Van

I'm enjoying this series.

This is Vanessa and Cam's book and we get to see how their on again off again relationship plays out. We also get a peek at Cam's parents and what went wrong with their marriage as well as a glimpse at Vanessa's parents.

My favorite book in this series so far. I loved Vanessa and her little predicament, though Cam's reaction pissed me off. And the two of them are on fire.

The title of this one does not make sense to me. Additionally, I felt like too much time was spent on Cameron’s parents and it kind of detracted from the central story.

Oh god. It’s scary how enamored I am with these brothers, really. I even come to wish there were a few more of them to go for future books, just so I wouldn’t have to leave them and their family dynamics so soon. And yes, even though the next book is months away, I said ‘soon’.

If I have to be completely honest, I didn’t know how Cam and Vanessa was going to work. I had a feeling and enough confidence in Marie Harte’s writing that she’d make them work, but I just couldn’t see the how. I like my r

Caffeinated Dates with Ruining Mr. Perfect

First Date: In the previous novel Vanessa Campbell our little perfectionist, drill sergeant and number geek shared a rather smokin’ hot kiss with Cameron. He is the youngest McCauley, who unlike his brother’s isn’t in the family construction business, prefers apple-flavored beers, eats healthy and is neat. Nothing has happened since then, but Cameron is finding opportunities to spend time with her. Vanessa is impossibly attracted to him, but with her roo

The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between
This is a character driven story with alot of camaraderie between siblings and a set of friends who live next door. Vanessa’s a confident heroine, which I gravitate towards. She takes command in her professional life as well as with Cam, though I think it is a fairly even power exchange between the two. However, seeing Vanessa take control and direct the action on occasion was a nice change of pace and Cam’s very into her, which is attractive to me. The

I read the first two books in this series a while back and, for some reason, I never continued. I'm sorry that I waited so long to pick up the third McCauley brother book, Ruining Mr. Perfect. This was Cameron and Vanessa's book. Both of them are pretty straight laced and different from their families and friends. The fact that they are so similar should make for a logical relationship. But emotions have a way of rearing their ugly heads to make things more complicated,

Awe, Marie does it again. I think Cameron & Vanessa are my favorite so far. I just love how they are so much a like yet different. That Cameron knows how to push Vanessa’s buttons and how she fights back. I loved how even when they fight they don’t really fight. Unless of course Vanessa is wrong then the fight is to the death. These two are just great.
And the side story with Pop & Bitsy is great too. And I loved th

I really liked this one! For me Vanessa was the best female character from this series!
She was fun in her "I'm-always-right-and-always-saying-the-truth" way! You just couldn't help but lover her and cheer for a HEA for her!

Cam is a McCauley so nuff said! You just can't help but love all those boys!

Now I'm really curious to Mike's story because from all of them he was the one that I first liked and I can't wait to see how the author is going to work her relationship with him and his ador
The best part about this book was Cam and Vanessa's banter! They were pretty cute together, except for their idiot moments.

I loved how self-assured and comfortable in his own skin Cam was. He wasn't overly cocky, he had just the right amount of confidence. It was damn attractive.

There are some minor quibbles I had that kept this from being a perfect five stars, but nonetheless, it was an enjoyable read.

4.5 Stars! I can safely say, I’m hooked on the McCauley family. They showcase a love, both romantic and familial, that draws you in and glues you to the page.

Vanessa Campbell is known as the cold, mean one. And mostly that’s true. She makes grown men cry, for goodness's sake. But she sees her blunt honesty and efficient demeanor as a boon. So what if she’s a bit of a perfectionist. She’s fit, pretty, and successful. She can also be honest and admit, if only to herself, that she may be l

This was my favorite from the whole series so far. I really reading Vanessa and Cameron's I also really liked how we got Beth and James story as well. Cam and Vanessa and seeing their relationship grow was great. I also really liked seeing Cam's relationship with his brothers in the other books you don't really see the relationship from his point of view.
I'm really glad we got to see more of Del from the other books she is such an amazing character i'm glad that she is in these books. I also re

So here I thought this was just about Cameron and Vanessa falling in love....nope seems Beth and James Macauley (mom and dad to the brothers) are having marital issues too.

Seems that communication, or lack of, is not a problem just for the younger generations. Neither is stubbornness or frustration.

I get that Vanessa had an odd and somewhat cold childhood. Two professors whom are more interested in academia than their daughter....tends to leave a person with trust and intimacy issues. Now Camero

4.5 stars. Well written and paced story with very likeable characters.
I have read and reviewed these books previously from the back of the book but they have all gone missing. Rereading this series is not a hardship as you are introduced to a very great group of characters you want to know more about. Even the parents are great and get some page time in the series.
This series is centred around a family of brothers, blood and heart, and their friends. You get a good feel for their background and

I read this series in order, which definitely helps as I knew the other characters and had some sense of what was going on. Plus, I knew who all the side characters were. There may be some spoilers in this review for the first two books.

Cam’s dad and brothers are all blue collar workers, Cam being the exception. Instead of working with his hands he is much more of a mathematics kinda guy. Sometimes this puts him at odds with his pop and the boys and other times they go right to him for help. I d

Vanessa and Cameron seem to be the odd ones in their group, especially Cameron. He's the white collar guy to his blue collar family. I love how all his brothers tease Cameron about his metro sexual ways. Vanessa comes off as a stick in the mud type A personality, but the two of them worked together. It was fun to see the two of them bond over things everyone else hated them.

The older McCauley's marriage problems came to a head in this one. It was interesting to see how everyone reacted. I was a

Ruining Mr. Perfect (The McCauley Brothers, #3) by Marie Harte This is the third book in the McCauley Brothers series by Marie Harte. This is the story of Cameron McCauley and Vanessa Campbell who are the primary characters that I met in the Body Shop Bad Boys and the Donnigan series which I read prior. I give it a solid 3.25 stars. I think the primary character development if the interplay between Cam and Vanessa was weaker but the plot development was a lot more complex and interesting. ...more
