El libro describe la íntima relación entre religión, política y sociedad en América Latina durante los últimos tres decenios, a partir de la reinterpretación que la teología de la liberación ha hecho de la vocación de la iglesia católica. El cristianismo liberacionista se ha definido a sí mismo a través de una multitud de l uchas sociales particularmente en Brasil y América Central. Muchos acontecimientos importantes en la historia reciente de esta región "la revolución nicaragüense, la tortuosa ascensión del presidente Aristide en Haití y el levantamiento de Chiapas" testimonian la influencia de una bien definida cristiandad liberacionista. Aquí se propone una nueva interpretación de la teología de la liberación y de los proyectos religiosos rivales en América Latina.

все очень хорошо интересно научно исследовано, правда чуть-чуть неакутально (только до 90-х). немного захотелось стать католиком. теперь нужно собственно их теологические тексты почитать.
