So many books of this nature are unnecessarily verbose or are written by Christians or Satanists attempting to push their own agenda. McGreggor is concise, practical, and provides an open viewpoint from inside Satanism itself without the speculation and conjecture found in similar books written from a Christian perspective.

This is a good book for those who want a survey of the current structure of Satanic beliefs. The book presents a brief overview and history of Satanism and describes and differentiates LaVeyan Satanism, Theistic Satanism and Traditional Satanism. The book primarily discusses Satanism through a theistic lens. As part of its focus on Theistic Satanism, the book describes the advantages Satanism offers in terms of personal development and describes many of the practices that Theistic Satanists find empowering such as meditation, physical conditioning and responsible self-indulgence. This book will be useful for anyone who is interested in exploring Satanism from a theistic point of view.

The only rational and acceptable approach to Theistic Satanism.

This book is the only rational and acceptable approach to Theistic Satanism that I have come across. The author doesn't get hung up on Christianity or the Christian idea of Satan but rather illustrates a reasonable and well balanced approach to Satanism. This isn't the angst riddled rant of the teenage version of "Satanism" that I've come across quite frequently but rather a mature and intelligent real world approach with clear thoughtfulness and poise. My only issue is that the book is entirely too short and a bit unordered at times, but this doesn't detract from the breathe of fresh air that it is.
